Chapter 277: Reunion with Han Feng (Part 1)

The moment the black robed youth appeared, the expressions of the Gold and Silver Elders shifted to surprise. However, that surprise quickly transformed into glee.

"Well, well! Who would've thought this little city was hiding a high level Dou Zong? What an unexpected treat!"

"A treat, you say?" Xiao Yan responded with a faint smile, his gaze sweeping over the pair.

"I was right after all. The aura emanating from you two is not something native to the Dou Qi Continent. You're not of this world you're outsiders, celestial fiends."

His words caused the Gold and Silver Elders' expressions to flicker with astonishment before twisting into sinister smiles.

"Celestial fiends, you say? It's been thousands of years, and yet someone still remembers that ancient name."

They exchanged a glance, their blood red eyes gleaming with malice.

"Should we call you members of the Foreign Demon Race or celestial fiends?" Xiao Yan continued, his tone casual, as if speaking to old acquaintances.

One of the elders chuckled coldly. "Foreign Demon Race? Don't insult us by comparing us to those pitiful minor tribes. We are members of one of the Thirty Two Great Clans."

Hearing this, Xiao Yan's expression grew more solemn. He hadn't expected the so called Foreign Demon Race to be considered a mere minor tribe within the ranks of celestial fiends.

"So, which great clan do you hail from?" he asked, feigning curiosity.

One of the elders grinned wickedly. "We are proud members of the Soul Demon Clan, one of the "

Before he could finish, the other elder hastily covered his mouth.

"Why waste words on this brat? Let's just tear him apart already!"

The first elder nodded in agreement, his eyes gleaming with a bloodthirsty light. "Indeed. It's been far too long since I've tasted the blood of a Dou Zong of your caliber. Devouring your soul would be worth a hundred thousand no, a million ordinary mortals!"

Their blood red eyes burned with unbridled killing intent as they fixed on Xiao Yan, like beasts poised to pounce.

"Just the two of you?" Xiao Yan asked, his voice calm.

He paused briefly before continuing, his tone growing sharper. "Tell me Han Feng, my so called senior, is still hiding at the bottom of Spring God Ravine, isn't he?"

The mention of Han Feng made the Gold and Silver Elders' faces darken, their expressions revealing surprise and unease.

"You… know that brat Han Feng?"

Their words confirmed Xiao Yan's suspicions. Han Feng was indeed beneath Spring God Ravine. Whether he had been possessed like the two before him was another matter.

Still, Xiao Yan didn't dwell on the thought. To him, Han Feng's fate wasn't particularly important especially if it meant fewer complications in his quest for the Sea Heart Flame.

The corners of his lips curled into a faint smile. "If that's the case, there's no point keeping you alive any longer. For slaughtering the millions of Spring God City and turning it into a living hell, I'll ensure your deaths are equally agonizing."

As he spoke, Xiao Yan's aura erupted with terrifying force. The oppressive energy scattered the dark clouds the Gold and Silver Elders had conjured, revealing the moonlit sky.

A Glimmer of Hope

The people of Spring Lake City, who had been drowning in despair, suddenly felt a flicker of hope as Xiao Yan's powerful presence enveloped the city.

Far off in the distance, Han Yue and the other students stood frozen in shock.

Initially, they had assumed their mysterious mentor, Yanxiao, was on par with the Grand Elder in terms of strength. But now, as they felt his overwhelming aura, they realized his power far surpassed anything they had imagined.

For Han Yue, the revelation struck even harder. Having learned Xiao Yan's true identity and age, she was awash with complex emotions.

A Fierce Confrontation

High above the city, the Gold and Silver Elders exchanged a wary glance. They couldn't deny the oppressive might radiating from the black robed youth before them.

"This brat is strong," one muttered. "Stronger than anyone we've faced since our revival."

If they were to face him individually, they would undoubtedly lose. Even together, the battle would be fraught with peril.

Still, they smirked menacingly.

"Boy, your strength is impressive, but several Dou Zun experts have already fallen to the two of us. What chance does a mere Dou Zong like you have? Prepare to die and fuel our power with your soul!"

With that, an overwhelming wave of black, inky mist surged from their bodies, blotting out the sky over half of Spring Lake City.

This wasn't just an ordinary attack. The mist carried a corrupting force, capable of turning any living being it touched into a mindless killing machine.

The malevolent energy began to descend upon the city. If it wasn't stopped, Spring Lake City would soon become another Spring God City a wasteland of blood and despair.

The Power of Flame

Seeing the mist descending, Xiao Yan acted without hesitation.

With a flick of his hands, a brilliant, multicolored flame erupted from his body, surging upward like a tidal wave.

This was Xiao Yan's first time unleashing his Heavenly Flame so freely since ascending to the Dou Zong level.

The seven colored flames spread across the sky, forming a protective dome over Spring Lake City and forcing the malevolent mist to retreat.

The dark energy, seemingly invincible, recoiled at the flames' touch as if meeting its natural predator. In mere moments, wisps of the mist were incinerated into nothingness.

"A Heavenly Flame!"

The Gold and Silver Elders' eyes widened in shock, their blood red pupils contracting as a flicker of fear crossed their faces.

They had always held the upper hand in battle, relying on their corrupting mist and near immortal bodies. But against a Heavenly Flame, they were at a rare disadvantage.

The flame's unique properties posed a natural counter to their magic, disrupting their dark energy and threatening to obliterate them completely.

Realizing the danger, the two exchanged a glance before abruptly withdrawing their mist and turning to flee.

"This one is too troublesome. We need the King to handle him personally!"

No Escape

Seeing the two preparing to flee, Xiao Yan's lips curled into a cold smile.

"Trying to run? After what you did to Spring God City?"

He raised his hands, forming a complex series of hand seals. The vibrant flames around him condensed and coiled, transforming into two massive, serpentine dragons of fire.

The fire dragons roared to life, their blazing forms illuminating the night sky as they lunged toward the fleeing elders with devastating speed.
