Chapter 142 - Chapter 142: An Easy Victory, The Champions!

Chapter 142: An Easy Victory, The Champions!

The Nether White Tiger shone faintly translucent, its massive body stretching over eight meters long and more than two meters tall. White fur laced with dark patterns gleamed beneath the sunlight, and a pair of vast wings unfurled from its back, stirring fierce winds with every beat. Its presence was majestic, overwhelming.

"A Martial Soul Fusion!"

"The Nether White Tiger—terrifying as ever!"

"Can the Class One pair even handle that?"

"Hmph, they're being reckless now. A fusion skill isn't something so simple to counter…"

"Maybe, but those two are Soul Elders. Their opponents might have the fusion, but one half is only a Grandmaster. Against average teams, sure—but facing those two monsters? I don't think so…"

The teachers on the stands exchanged stunned comments, analyzing intensely.

Even the students watching were left wide-eyed, breath caught in their throats.

The aura of the Nether White Tiger was simply too powerful. Even though it had appeared once before, seeing it again still sent chills through the crowd.

"Go to hell!"

"ROAR!"

The white tiger roared, its massive wings stirring violent winds as it lunged toward Wang Dong with an earth-shaking strike from its claws.

"Hmph!"

Xiao Xiao snorted and immediately unleashed her strongest control ability!

Her three great cauldrons merged together, forming one massive, ancient-looking metal giant more than ten meters high.

The surface of the cauldron pulsed with glowing, archaic runes. As they lit up in sequence, a deep, resonating boom echoed like thunder.

Hum—

"National Treasure Art—Ding of Resounding Might!" Xiao Xiao shouted.

The cauldron unleashed rippling waves so intense that the air itself twisted.

With her third soul skill amplifying its strength threefold, the power of her control art skyrocketed.

The wave of vibration expanded, covering more than thirty meters, engulfing nearly the entire arena—including the Nether White Tiger itself.

Its furious charge came to a sudden halt—

The enormous tiger froze midair, completely suspended.

"What power!"

Even Xiao Xiao was inwardly amazed. Martial Soul Fusion really was extraordinary—at her strength, she could only restrain it for around thirty seconds.

Still, though impressed, she wasn't nervous at all. She still had a teammate—Wang Dong.

And even if she acted alone, her soul bone technique could easily end this fight.

The outcome of this battle was already decided.

"Divine Butterfly Slash!!!"

At that moment, Wang Dong's third soul ring flared.

Her radiant butterfly wings suddenly turned gold, a crimson sphere of light forming before her chest.

From her glowing wings, streams of smaller lights poured into the sphere, causing it to expand rapidly.

Within seconds, the orb reached the size of a fist, arcs of golden electricity flickering across its surface, bathing Wang Dong in divine radiance.

"Divine! Butterfly! Slash!"

With a commanding shout, Wang Dong hurled the golden sphere like a comet straight at the immobilized Nether White Tiger.

Seeing this, Xiao Xiao dispelled her cauldrons and raised a protective barrier before herself and Mu He.

The projectile's speed was incredible. Even without Xiao Xiao's restraint, the tiger's immense size would've made dodging impossible. The only option left—take it head-on.

"ROAR!!!"

The Nether White Tiger bellowed defiantly, swinging its enormous paw toward the incoming orb.

BOOM!!!

The collision unleashed an explosive roar that shook the entire arena.

Blinding golden crescents burst forth from within the orb, slicing incessantly across the tiger's body.

In the blink of an eye, the Nether White Tiger couldn't withstand the five-thousand-year soul ability—it detonated in a violent explosion of light and wind!

Two figures were hurled backward through the air before being caught by nearby teachers—Dai Huabin and Zhu Lu.

Though their bodies bore no visible wounds, their faces were pale, their auras weak—the internal backlash from the blast had left them barely conscious.

Even with the fusion absorbing much of the damage, the aftermath alone was devastating.

Wang Dong's Bright Goddess Butterfly was an exceptionally powerful martial soul, and combined with her level 33 cultivation, the difference was insurmountable.

The disparity between their spirits showed vividly now.

While not quite a true "absolute" martial soul, her Bright Goddess Butterfly was close—far superior to the Nether Cat and the Evil-Eyed White Tiger's compatibility.

Hovering above, Wang Dong looked every bit the divine figure—a radiant war goddess drenched in light.

Still, if one looked closer, her shoulders rose and fell with exhaustion. The ability had consumed immense soul power.

The Divine Butterfly Slash, though destructive, had one major flaw—it lacked precise control. A narrow miss would waste the attack, so it always needed to pair with a control or support teammate.

Thankfully, against such a huge target, missing was impossible.

"Battle over! Victory to Wang Dong's team!"

The referee's voice rang clear, ending the match and crowning the champions.

Every teacher erupted in surprise.

None of them had expected Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao to display such terrifying might.

"How is that possible?! They're Soul Elders?"

"That… that was the Nether White Tiger! A Martial Soul Fusion! And they obliterated it like it was nothing!"

"The Bright Goddess Butterfly—just what level of spirit is that?"

Speculation filled the stands.

Most had known only that Wang Dong's spirit was beautiful and powerful—but they hadn't truly grasped how powerful until now.

Somewhere in Shrek Academy's archives, the information existed—but few bothered reading dusty old reference texts unless they contained gossip or secrets.

And so, much knowledge simply faded over time.

Outside the academy gates, Ye Chen was practically being dragged through the streets by Wu Feng and Ning Tian.

"Hey, hey! What's all this about?" Ye Chen protested.

He had watched the match with them, but after it ended, both girls looked like they'd taken a direct morale hit—faces dark, refusing to talk, until they suddenly grabbed him and bolted off-campus.

"Hmph! Don't play dumb. Did you secretly train Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao behind our backs?!" Ning Tian demanded, glaring at him with teary frustration.

"Yeah! We're all Soul Elders—how are they that much stronger?!" Wu Feng joined in indignantly.

Both their teams had been crushed by the same Nether White Tiger they just saw decimated in seconds.

Ye Chen had once introduced them to Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao as members of Tang Sect—and both Ning Tian and Wu Feng were well aware of their close relationship with him.

They might get jealous, sure—but they weren't furious.

After all, a man like Ye Chen attracting amazing women was almost a given.

And besides, they were all just girlfriends—it wasn't as if anyone had a ring on his hand yet. Ning Tian still had confidence in her Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda's heritage giving her a chance.

Still… the sheer difference in their combat power stung deeply.

It almost had to be because Ye Chen was giving the others special training, didn't it?
