Chapter 146: Luxury Suite, Black Gold VIP

"Boom—"

The aircraft's engines roared to life as it lifted vertically, then shot forward at high speed.

Inside the cockpit, Zhang Lexuan sat comfortably in the pilot's seat, already buckled in.

Ye Chen, meanwhile, was sprawled across her body, using her chest as a pillow while he dozed peacefully.

"Sister, wake me when we get there," he mumbled drowsily, breathing in her gentle fragrance as sleep quickly overtook him.

Last night, Ning Tian and Wu Feng had taken turns... exhausting him thoroughly. His energy was completely drained.

So now, Ye Chen was genuinely tired and decided to rest for a while.

"I know, you little fool…"

Zhang Lexuan reached down and gave him a gentle pinch—not hard enough to disturb his sleep.

She had expected him to sit behind her and maybe try some mischief.

Instead, he just wanted to cuddle and nap.

For some reason, though, she felt oddly disappointed…

Perhaps the "pillow" was too comfortable, because Ye Chen had no idea how long he'd been asleep.

When he woke, the sky had already darkened. He and Zhang Lexuan were still inside the aircraft, clearly not yet at their destination.

"Sister, where are we now?"

Ye Chen lifted his head and peered downward. Below lay vast darkness, broken only by distant clusters of light—cities scattered across the landscape. Beyond them stretched wilderness, dotted only by small villages and towns.

This world lacked detailed maps or navigation systems. Given how sparsely populated it was, few people could identify specific locations unless they were experienced traveling soul masters.

"We've entered the Dou Ling Empire. We're almost at Extreme North City," Zhang Lexuan said, stroking his hair gently.

Ye Chen's flying soul tool was only level five, but its speed far exceeded standard models of the same class.

Combined with her massive soul power input, they could cover over a thousand kilometers in just two or three hours at full speed.

However, higher speeds meant more noise, so she'd kept it moderate to avoid disturbing his rest.

"Mm, okay."

Ye Chen nodded, then sniffed the air and immediately started his "buffet service"…

Zhang Lexuan: "…"

"Can't you control yourself when you're hungry? Besides, I don't have any, so it won't quench your thirst or fill your stomach…" she said with a red face, exasperated.

This guy really did just dive right in.

Though she was used to it by now, it still made her shy.

"Fine, fine. I'll wait until Sister has some later…" Ye Chen grinned sheepishly.

"Hmph… shameless. Even if I did, it would be for babies, not for you," Zhang Lexuan rolled her eyes.

But immediately after saying it, she realized what she'd implied. Her face turned crimson as she quickly shook her head. "No, no, no—who said anything about having babies with you…"

"But Sister, you just agreed to it! No taking it back," Ye Chen said quickly.

"I didn't—you misheard."

"I heard you perfectly."

"You definitely misheard!"

The two continued their playful banter as Zhang Lexuan piloted the aircraft down, landing just outside Extreme North City.

Ye Chen stored the aircraft and walked with her toward the city gates.

Having been here before when obtaining his previous soul ring, Ye Chen was quite familiar with the city.

Zhang Lexuan, on the other hand, had rarely visited—she'd only been to the Extreme North a few times, the last being when she'd accompanied Elder Xuan to help Ling Luochen obtain a soul ring as part of her training.

Every soul ring hunt involved combat with wild soul beasts, making them valuable training opportunities—essentially outdoor education.

That's why most academies brought multiple students along, not just the one who needed a ring.

Ye Chen easily found the city's finest hotel and presented his gold card.

"Welcome, honored Black Gold member. Your room is the Golden Suite on the 88th floor. Please follow me."

The receptionist's attitude instantly became incredibly respectful and enthusiastic upon seeing the black gold card.

If Zhang Lexuan hadn't been there, they might have even offered "companionship services."

"You've only been here a few times—how are you already a Black Gold member?" Zhang Lexuan asked, bewildered.

That level of membership required massive spending.

"Ahem, this card belongs to Teacher Xian Lin'er. She brought me here last time to get a soul ring, so I'm familiar with the place," Ye Chen coughed, explaining.

He couldn't let anyone know about his relationship with Xian Lin'er—it would damage her reputation and dignity.

His relationships with others, however, he didn't particularly hide.

Ye Chen suspected Zhang Lexuan already knew about his intimate relationship with Ma Xiaotao.

But she'd never asked about it, either not caring or deliberately pretending ignorance.

Naturally, Ye Chen wasn't foolish enough to bring it up himself…

This current arrangement worked perfectly fine.

Besides, the closer their relationship became, the smaller the chances of a catastrophic fallout. Ye Chen had experience with that.

Better to just focus on building affection.

"Alright then."

Zhang Lexuan gave him an odd look. She felt like he was lying, but the explanation made perfect sense.

After all, Xian Lin'er was arguably the wealthiest person at Shrek Academy, and as Ye Chen's student, she would naturally be generous with him.

Honestly, she was a bit envious. Having such a wealthy teacher meant never lacking cultivation resources.

They were soon escorted to the Golden Suite on the top floor.

As the suite doors opened, a subtle woody fragrance wafted out.

Their feet sank into thick, soft wool carpet that muffled their footsteps completely.

The living room was spacious, with dark gold striped wallpaper and several oil paintings depicting the Extreme North's scenery.

A massive crystal chandelier hung from the center, providing bright but comfortable lighting.

Cream-colored sofas surrounded a low coffee table, accompanied by elegant dark brown wooden furniture.

One entire wall was a massive floor-to-ceiling window overlooking Extreme North City's twinkling lights.

The glass was one-way transparent—outsiders couldn't see in, ensuring complete privacy even if they pressed against the window.

"Honored Black Gold member, you're entitled to complimentary dinner service. Would you like to order?" the receptionist asked with a professional smile, maintaining perfect courtesy.

"Mm, let me see."

Ye Chen walked to the dining table and picked up the menu, turning to Zhang Lexuan. "Sister, what would you like to eat?"

"Anything's fine."

Zhang Lexuan sat down in one of the chairs. The cushion was incredibly soft, so she leaned back and relaxed.

After flying for so long with Ye Chen lying on top of her, she was both tired and hungry.

Ye Chen flipped through the thick menu, casually selecting several dishes.

Most importantly, he ordered several bottles of the local specialty wines—every region had its unique features, and alcoholic beverages were definitely one of them.
