Chapter 185: 204. Inside the Water Curtain Cave
At Shrek Academy's male dormitory, Tang San's room occupied the central C position, symbolizing his status as the main character. On either side were the rooms of Oscar and Dai Mubai, like two loyal guardians, while Ma Hongjun's room was situated right behind Tang San's.
Every night, when Tang San fell asleep, a certain "ten-thousand-year rabbit" would randomly appear in Dai Mubai's, Ma Hongjun's, or Oscar's room to tease and tempt them.
Over time, this phenomenon became a secret none of them dared to share—a hidden understanding among the three that Tang San knew nothing about.
Now, one might ask: Tang San didn't know—but surely Tang Hao did?
The answer, of course, was no!
Tang Hao made a crucial mistake. In the previous life, he had been overly cautious—personally accompanying and protecting Tang San until his son safely entered Shrek Academy. Only after confirming that Tang San was temporarily safe did he leave to pursue his own vendetta (spending years hammering Spirit Hall branches across the continent to "collect a little interest").
But perhaps because everything had gone too smoothly before—and because Tang San was blessed by the grand fortune of the Douluo Continent—Tang Hao became lax in this life. Confident that no harm would befall his son, he only returned when absolutely necessary.
When Tang San first entered Shrek Academy, Tang Hao did stop by—to check on him and, more importantly, to beat Zhao Wuji half to death, both to assert dominance and to vent his own frustrations.
After teaching Zhao Wuji his lesson, Tang Hao left again, perfectly missing the absurd events of Xiao Wu's and Dai Mubai's "first night."
Meanwhile, far from Shrek Academy, in the lush back mountains behind Saint Spirit Village, two uninvited guests arrived at a glittering waterfall cave—Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue.
"So this is the place where Tang Hao hid the Blue Silver Emperor's hundred-thousand-year soul bone and life seed?" Bibi Dong asked.
"Mother, to be exact, only the Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone is here," Qian Renxue said, gazing at a small golden-veined Blue Silver Grass growing on a mound. "That plant is a fake."
Thanks to the legendary legacy of the Shrek Seven Devils after their divine ascension, their stories—along with those of Tang Hao, Ah Yin, and the Golden Iron Triangle—had become widely known tales across the continent. Every stage of Tang San's and Tang Hao's lives had been meticulously recorded—except the precise location of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
Among those tales was the account of Tang Hao hiding Ah Yin's soul bone and life seed in this very Water Curtain Cave behind Saint Spirit Village.
With such a clear location revealed by history, how could Qian Renxue possibly ignore it?
The two searched the cave thoroughly. Before long, they uncovered a small chest and opened it. Inside lay not one but two soul bones: the hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone and the hundred-thousand-year Soft Bone Rabbit's right arm bone.
"So that rabbit's soul bone was hidden here as well. What a pleasant surprise," Bibi Dong said with intrigue. She was well aware of that old ten-thousand-year rabbit's identity but, in the past, had reluctantly allowed Tang Hao to take the soul ring—now, fate had given her a second chance.
Qian Renxue blinked in astonishment. "Then two years from now, the prize for the Continental Soul Master Tournament is settled. In the last life, Spirit Hall provided the prizes and got nothing in return. This time, Tang San's faction will supply them instead. With these two hundred-thousand-year soul bones on the line, every academy on the continent will fight tooth and nail. It'll be quite a fiery competition."
Bibi Dong took the two soul bones in hand. Qian Renxue, however, seemed to recall something. "Mother, keep an eye on those two—the Dragon Duke and Snake Lady. They have a granddaughter named Meng Yiran. When she goes hunting for a soul beast, watch carefully. She's destined to encounter Tang San and fight over a Human-Faced Demon Spider. Stay out of sight—but prepare for a surprise."
Bibi Dong nodded. "Understood."
Before leaving, Qian Renxue even dug out the fake Blue Silver Emperor life seed to ensure Tang Hao would realize that "Ah Yin" was gone.
A few days later, a lonely, weathered figure arrived before the cave—Tang Hao himself. He looked up at the waterfall, thinking of Ah Yin's remains still within.
A tender warmth flashed across his rugged face. "Ah Yin," he murmured softly, "our son has grown strong. He's joined Shrek Academy now—everything's returning to its rightful path. In two years, he'll lead Shrek to victory over Spirit Hall. He'll inherit your noble legacy, become the Blue Silver Emperor, walk the path of the Killing God, and one day ascend to godhood—to destroy those two vile gods of Spirit Hall. Then, the Tang family will reign supreme. You'll be reborn, and you'll love me again. That day isn't far."
Overwhelmed with emotion, Tang Hao leapt into the cave.
What greeted him was devastation.
The soil mound had been dug out—a grim message staring him in the face. Ah Yin was gone. His heart sank. His trembling hands searched the cave desperately until his eyes fell upon an empty chest. He stumbled forward, clutching it tightly.
Inside was nothing. The two soul bones he had saved for Tang San were gone.
In that moment, Tang Hao realized the truth—he'd been robbed.
"Ah Yin! My soul bones—!" Tang Hao's roar echoed through the mountains.
Rage consumed him, but through sheer will he forced himself to think. Who could've taken them? None of this had happened in his previous life.
Could it be… Spirit Hall?
Yes. It had to be those damned people of Spirit Hall. Tang Hao's eyes turned blood-red, his breath feral and heavy. The Haotian Hammer materialized in his hands, shrouded in murderous crimson light, with nine soul rings—yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black, red—circling around him.
He could no longer contain himself. He would destroy every Spirit Hall branch outside Spirit City, demanding vengeance—and forcing them to return Ah Yin and the soul bones that rightfully belonged to him.
But then a thought chilled him. His sect. If he acted recklessly now, Spirit Hall would strike at his clan. That coward Qian Daoliu and the others would never honor the old pact anymore.
"I can't drag the sect into this," Tang Hao growled in torment, clutching his head.
Yet his fury demanded release. So he swung the Haotian Hammer with abandon, smashing everything in sight.
By the time his rampage ended, the entire back mountain behind Saint Spirit Village lay in ruins.
The ground trembled violently, and the villagers, terrified, fled indoors, believing an earthquake had struck.
