Chapter 192 - Chapter 192: 211. The Third Cold Sweat

Chapter 192: 211. The Third Cold Sweat

Tang San awoke from unconsciousness. The moment his senses returned, a searing pain tore through his back—sharp, raw, and agonizing.

He instantly realized what had happened: his freshly obtained spirit bone—his future Sea God Eight Wings—had been ripped from him by Bibi Dong.

"Bibi Dong—!" Tang San gasped, his eyes bloodshot, fury twisting his face. "You've set yourself on a path to death!"

Then his thoughts turned dark—towards Yu Xiaogang.

To put it kindly, Tang San saw Yu Xiaogang as a shield. To be blunt, he was nothing more than a chamber pot—useful when needed, discarded and hidden under the bed when not, abandoned once useless.

But he couldn't even perform that simple role properly!

Damn you, Yu Xiaogang, Tang San cursed inwardly. Weren't you supposed to be the man Bibi Dong still pines for? Then why, at the crucial moment, did your name fail to stop her?

Because of you, I lost my Eight Spider Spears!

Just then, the door opened, and the Shrek trio entered.

They stared down at Tang San's battered figure. For some reason, an ugly glimmer of schadenfreude stirred in their chests.

Suppressing that feeling, Dai Mubai stepped forward and explained everything that had happened during Tang San's absorption. By the end, he wore an awkward, guilty smile.

"Tang San, it's not that we didn't want to help, but the difference in power was too vast. That was Bibi Dong—her strength's at least at the Limit Douluo level now. We wouldn't have stood a chance against her."

Tang San narrowed his eyes, honing in on two key details.

"Wait—Mubai. You're saying Bibi Dong's ring configuration has surpassed what she had in the past life… and that she appeared somewhere she absolutely shouldn't have been?"

He frowned deeply.

"Do you think… Bibi Dong could be a reincarnator?" Ma Hongjun whispered.

The air froze.

In that instant, all four of them were drenched in cold sweat.

If Bibi Dong truly was reborn, their "dungeon" had just been promoted to Hard Mode. (And that was thanks to the Yu Xiaogang "chamber pot" existing. Without it, they'd be in Hell Mode.)

Tang San, after thinking for a moment, shook his head. "No. If Bibi Dong were reborn, she would have killed us outright to eliminate future threats."

He paused, his voice turning low and pensive. "Besides, even if she had reincarnated, she couldn't possibly have known that I'd acquire the Eight Spider Spears here. Our Shrek Seven Devils' legend only became public after Spirit Hall's destruction—by then, Bibi Dong and Spirit Hall were long buried in history."

At those words, the trio sighed in relief.

But then Tang San's next statement froze their hearts again.

"What's certain, however, is that there is a reincarnator within Spirit Hall—someone who survived its destruction in our last life. A remnant who influenced Bibi Dong's actions, guiding her here to take my spirit bone."

"Who could it be?" Oscar asked warily.

"Could it be Qian Renxue?" Ma Hongjun ventured.

The moment he said it, another wave of cold sweat ran down every back in the room.

If Qian Renxue truly had been reborn, then their "dungeon" wasn't Hard Mode—it was full-on Inferno Mode.

After all, Qian Renxue had been the first of their divine trio to achieve godhood last time. And despite her divided destiny and political turmoil in the Heaven Dou Empire, her natural talent remained terrifying.

Worse—she had every reason for vengeance.

In their previous life, her mother had died at Tang San's hands, Spirit Hall had been reduced to ashes, the millennia-old Angel lineage shattered, and she herself had been driven to self-destruction.

If such a woman returned with her memories intact… she'd be a demon fueled by fury.

And unlike Bibi Dong, she didn't have a Yu Xiaogang "chamber pot" to restrain her.

Dai Mubai took out a handkerchief and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "I don't think Qian Renxue has been reborn. In the Heaven Dou Empire, princes Xue Luochuan and Xue Haicang both suddenly died. Xue Qinghe—the persona she used—is still following her old path exactly as before. She's apprenticed to Ning Fengzhi, just like in the last timeline."

At that, Tang San, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun finally exhaled together. If that path remained unchanged, then Qian Renxue likely wasn't a reincarnator either.

They all understood: if they were the ones reliving, they'd have acted drastically by now. If Qian Renxue truly retained her past memories, she would have mobilized Spirit Hall already—obliterating them before they could even grow strong.

In terms of actual power, Qian Renxue's authority rivaled her mother's. While Bibi Dong controlled only Chrysanthemum and Ghost Douluo, Qian Renxue held command over the entire Worship Hall—her reach was legendary.

"So, not Qian Renxue, not Bibi Dong…" Ma Hongjun muttered. "Then who?"

"Likely a remnant of Spirit Hall," Oscar deduced. "Some fanatic loyalist. Probably someone low in rank—else Qian Renxue wouldn't have been tasked with executing her own separate plan. He must've used future knowledge to earn Bibi Dong's trust."

Tang San's gaze hardened. "Hmph. A remnant of Spirit Hall, living off our mercy. We let them survive last time—and this is how they repay us? To defy destiny itself? Then they've already chosen the path of death. Once we destroy Spirit Hall again, we'll purge its roots completely, for the good of the future!"

"San," Ma Hongjun said carefully, "do you think something might happen at the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well?"

His tone carried a note of desperation—after all, the paired Ice-and-Fire Springs were his key to divine inheritance. The Phoenix Tail Crest flower there—the Cockscomb Phoenix Sunflower—was tied to his entire future. Though Xiao Wu could suppress his Flame of Lust whenever it flared, only that rare immortal herb could grant him the purity required to inherit the Fire God's throne. Someday, with that power, he even dreamed of challenging Tang San—and winning Xiao Wu's "favor" for himself.

(In his mind: Once I win her, Tang San's throne falls. He may be Sea God, but I'll be Fire God—equal-level deities! And if Xiao Wu and I achieve double-god resonance… sorry, Tang San, roles reversed!)

At that point, all three of them were dripping in sweat again—the third wave of cold, clammy fear.

Oscar knew he could reach Title Douluo by talent, but his timing might be off; if delayed, he'd never inherit the God of Food's mantle.

Dai Mubai, meanwhile, had no immortal herb at all—his ascension had always been luck. Whether he could surpass his brother or ever reach godhood was now uncertain at best.

Tang San pulled out his own handkerchief, wiping his forehead. "It's fine. In our past life, we never revealed the exact location of the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well. The world only knows we took immortal herbs—but not where they came from. Spirit Hall has no way of finding it."
