Though before he could crash out, the Admiral had to rescue some civilians. The man used Ice Age to freeze the whole ocean for miles on end, even saying that shit would last a couple of weeks at the bare minimum.
After saving them, the man even had a talk with Luffy, saying that having Nico Robin in his crew was basically asking for danger — she had slimed out many people and betrayed a lot of others.
To that, Luffy's simple answer was:
"She's my friend now. I don't care if the World Government comes after me. Let them come — I'll fight them all."
At that moment, Kuzan realized that Luffy was basically if Garp were a pirate, and the mere thought of that sent a shudder down his spine.
Yeah, he couldn't let the little jit slide.
"Technically, I'm supposed to capture you. Your crew may cause a lot of trouble for the government," the man said calmly.
He would speed-blitz them and appear next to Robin, starting to freeze her.
"Let's finish what started at Ohara."
However, before his ass could even begin to freeze her—
A powerful kick landed. Kuzan's fist clashed with Kairo's kick. The Admiral looked shocked, and that moment of shock gave Kairo enough time to blast the man away into the forest.
He had used Conqueror's Coating alongside Ryo on that blow, so even if it did little damage, shit probably still hurt.
He wanted to continue the hunt, but as he felt Robin's body fall on him... he froze. His heart was beating fast — way too damn fast. His cheeks may or may not have been flushed, and that was not the reason his Transformation Jutsu ended, leaving him back to his 15-foot-tall self.
Sanji just now seemed to have reacted — he had truly been blitzed like everyone else not named Kairo, who could actually see the Admiral move.
He seemed worried about Robin.
"Take Robin and go to the ship... now!"
He practically shouted — they stood no chance against a goddamn Admiral.
Hell, even Kairo barely stood a chance.
Luffy paused for a bit, as if wondering whether or not to attack. He looked at Kairo before saying,
"Can you take him?"
"I can hold him back," Kairo said, his gaze never leaving where Kuzan was. He didn't even realize he was still holding Robin close, his flames warming up her cold skin.
Said Admiral, meanwhile, was staring up at the clouds, wondering if it would be better if he just pretended to be knocked out.
His ass did not sign up for this.
From that punch alone, he knew Kairo wouldn't be an easy diff. For fuck's sake, it seemed like he'd be here for a while.
The fuck was a Yonko commander doing in this crew? What kind of smurfing bullshit was this?
Well, as long as the guy wasn't a Lunarian, he should be fine.
He stood up and realized his shirt was slightly burned. Aw, come on — could his day get any worse?
Walking out of the debris, he said,
"For someone with a 125 million berry bounty, you sure hit hard." He cracked his neck.
"Either the World Government lied... or you're hiding your strength."
As the debris cleared, Kuzan made eye contact with Kairo — white hair, dark skin, red eyes, fire on his back.
"....You wouldn't happen to be a Zoan user...?"
Yes. Kuzan was deadass — he'd rather that than the alternative.
And why did Kairo look like he wanted to slaughter him.
Then he watched as Kairo went through hand seals. Oh... so this was what it felt like to be wrong.
"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Jutsu!"
A giant fire dragon rushed toward the Admiral.
Yup, that confirmed it.
Kairo was indeed a survivor of that incident six years ago.
Kuzan opened his mouth and said, "Ice Block: Pheasant Beak!"
Kuzan's attack clashed with Kairo's — the two forces met in the middle, canceling each other out. The fire burned the ice, and the ice absorbed the heat, neutralizing it.
Kuzan's Observation Haki flared up as twenty or so kunai were launched at him.
"Ice Sword!" Summoning his blade, the Admiral readied himself — this shit shouldn't be too hard.
And then he saw it.
Kairo, emerging from the debris.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" A massive fireball shot toward Kuzan, who raised his hand.
"Ice Shield!" A giant wall of ice formed in front of him.
Several kunai flew past the man.
Kuzan's eyes widened as he turned around, coating his arm in Armament Haki just in time to block an axe strike from Kairo, who was coming from above.
How the hell did he get behind him? Kuzan had felt his presence on the other side, so...
For fuck's sake, he never wanted to fight this power again.
"Teleportation, huh," the Admiral said, locking eyes with Kairo.
"The same trick won't work twice."
From the ice, another Kairo appeared with a sword in his hand, slashing toward Kuzan. The Admiral, realizing the situation he was in — and in no mood to become another Gojo —
"Ice Age!"
Kairo immediately teleported away as his clone, along with everything within a 60-foot radius, was turned into nothing but pure ice.
Kuzan had frost all over his body — freezing over shit like that wasn't fun, but oh well.
Kairo looked down at his fingers... they had been frozen solid, along with a few of his toes. He had been a bit late to react.
He didn't care, however. His fire burned them off and regenerated the damage.
"So they were survivors..." Kuzan said, looking at Kairo, who seemed to be mid-hand seals.
Oh... damn.
A/N Just to make it Obvious…
Kairo is in control not David.
