Chapter 101 - Time to get yall strong (101)

Kairo could be seen cleaning his wounds as Chopper helped. It wasn't anything too major.

"Take care of Luffy first, he's more injured than I am," he said calmly.

"But your wounds?" Chopper looked at the gash by Kairo's side. For fuck's sake, half of his bones were broken — the fact that he was even alive was a miracle in itself.

"It's fine, I'll be fine... I'm quite sturdy." Flames appeared around his wounds, cauterizing them as they closed.

It was quite a nifty skill.

Chopper nodded and went to Luffy, who was still knocked out and drained of all energy. His ass was fully spent — he wouldn't wake up for a day or two.

Meanwhile, Kairo was pretty much fine.

He might've lost the ideological battle, but if the fight had gone on, he would've won. No ifs or buts about it.

He looked at his stats, having ignored all the notifications about his haki blooming until now.

Cool... he was now even more busted than before.

Though he didn't feel much stronger — sure, his haki had grown, but he didn't feel like he could take on a Yonko just yet.

Oh well, he had reached his goal... now the next best thing was to get that devil fruit.

If King's durability was at Master level, then Kairo's being Legendary meant he was tankier than that guy. And that guy, in theory, should be tankier than Kaido.

In theory.

Now that Kairo knew he was this busted, his run through the early Grand Line would be smooth. He probably wouldn't face a real challenge for a long, long time.

Anyway, he had a thoughtful look on his face.

"If only I was a bit stronger... I was so close to beating that guy." He sounded annoyed. Kuzan had been weakened a lot by Kairo.

If you wondered how weakened — the Straw Hats would've had a solid 50% chance of defeating him after that fight. Their odds were actually quite high.

However, the bastard was gone, probably why he didn't try to kill Kairo.

Kairo's skin was too tough for him to cut with his remaining power. And with Luffy on the way, he wouldn't have had time to finish it.

So yeah, Gear 4 Luffy would've had an extreme diff fight against Kuzan's weakened self — probably losing, but barely. Then there was Zoro — another extreme diff. Sanji too. Usopp offering support from the back, and Nami and Robin helping with strategy.

Kuzan didn't even have enough haki left to activate Observation or Armament — he was fucked no matter how you looked at it.

He was weakened beyond belief by Kairo's power.

And it definitely had nothing to do with the fact Kairo had used Sexy Jutsu to distract him before leaving a deep gash across his chest.

No regrets.

All this to say — if Kuzan hadn't left, he would've been referred to in the past tense. Because, let's be honest, Kairo still had enough fight left in him to go another round.

He'd scale above the Luffy who'd give Kuzan an extreme diff battle.

Yes — Kairo weakened Kuzan far more than Kuzan weakened him.

Kairo was a ninja, for fuck's sake. Of course he knew the art of cheesing your opponent. That shit was basically law.

His gaze turned toward the crew.

Usopp flinched and nearly pissed himself from the pressure in Kairo's eyes.

"So, come back to your senses now..." Zoro said, staring him down.

"...You... all are stupid," Kairo said, annoyed.

"The hell you say?" Zoro had veins bulging on his forehead.

Kairo sighed.

Standing up, he wiped the dust off himself.

"Since you all seem to want to cling to death so much... who am I to stop you?" He cracked his knuckles and neck.

"However... I cannot, in good conscience, allow you all to leave this island while being so weak..."

Why did Usopp feel like that was aimed directly at him?

Kairo tossed a fruit at Usopp. As he caught it, his eyes widened.

"Yo... a devil fruit?"

"It's the Bomb-Bomb Fruit, Mister 5's fruit," Kairo said calmly.

"The devil fruit allows you to turn any part of your body into a bomb. And no, it doesn't have to be your booger — it could be your hair, your sweat, your blood. As long as it's part of your body or something that comes from it. So no, you won't be a booger man."

Just like that, Usopp's question was answered.

"This doesn't limit you to your body either," Kairo continued. "You could lick an apple and toss it at someone — it'd still explode since your saliva's on it. That counts."

"You're a sniper. This should help. If you're smart enough, you could even find a way to fly with it. Combine it with your weapon, and you'll be able to snipe someone from far away."

His gaze turned to Nami.

"You... will focus on your fruit ability. It'll be needed for the Merry."

Her brow furrowed. "What do you mean by that?"

"The Merry is perfectly fine!" Usopp shot back.

Kairo didn't bother arguing — instead, he picked up some sticks and constructed a small model ship.

"This is a ship's helm — the wood that everything connects to. Now... tell me, what happens if it breaks?"

He shattered it.

"This is how the Merry is right now. She only has the energy for one more trip."

He explained carefully, but Usopp still refused to believe it.

Kairo sighed and walked over to him.

Contrary to expectations, Kairo got on his knees and bowed his head.

"I'm sorry. The Merry should've been able to carry us to Water 7. But my fight with Kuzan caused her to take even more damage. I'm sorry. If you want to be angry, direct it at me. Because I couldn't control my anger, she can barely float."

You couldn't really stay mad at a friend like that.

Usopp didn't want to abandon the Merry... but Kairo wasn't suggesting that. He was simply explaining the truth.

Eventually, the long-nosed man accepted the apology.

Kairo seemed relieved.

As for the others — Sanji was going to work on his speed.

Kairo created two clones: one specialized in speed, the other in swordsmanship and strength. Didn't take a genius to guess which one Sanji would be training with.

"And what about me?" Robin asked. Everyone had a role except her.

"Haki," Kairo said simply. "More precisely — Ryō. If you can get that, combined with your devil fruit, you'll be able to cause internal damage to your opponent even from afar. I'll teach you."

For a moment, he forgot about his crush.

On a side note — he was only saved because he had dark skin. If he were white, his cheeks would've been red as hell.

A/N: Yes, I know in the special I put his full name, but when Kairo checks, only "Kairo" pops up. There's a reason for that. Also, believe it or not, Kairo isn't too overpowered — stakes still exist. Kuzan survived the fight, and if you read the special, you know what's coming once the World Government hears about this. Just remember — he's not part of a Yonko crew, so the government can now do the kind of shit they wouldn't have dared before.
