Chapter 129 - Samuel the rookie(129)

Kairo would make his way to the mayor's house, which was where the Straw Hats were currently feasting. There were no Marines around; the Galley-La didn't allow them to get close. This was the mayor's house, and the government had recently tried to slime him out.

"Have you seen any pirates?" Random Navy #29 asked.

"There are no pirates here." Tilestone was not finna let any Navy get past him.

Kairo didn't pay them any mind. They were not his priority right now.

"But... we need to be sure..." The Navy soldier really wanted to get in, but they were not being let in at all.

Suddenly, a bum would be seen, his dog mask on as if to represent what he truly was—a bitch.

"Vice Admiral Garp!" Random Navy #29 seemed amazed to see him.

Following closely behind Garp was a man with no feats, who looked like a sheriff from the south who had never turned on his body cam.

Bogard.

A pink-haired boy and a blond dude who seemed to have been raised in luxury followed closely behind them.

A lazy man could be seen. He had an afro and all; he was even taller than Garp. Yet from underneath his clothing, a huge gash could be seen, as if he had almost been split in half.

Yes, the people in front of the mayor's office were none other than Garp the fraud, Koby, Helmeppo, and finally Kuzan.

He was nearby, and the World Government kinda really wanted a certain Lunarian gone, so you know he had to come with.

A certain magma man would have been here; however, due to a certain future donut and the pressure being hot on the World Government right now, he kinda had to stay back at Navy HQ.

Kairo would be eating some snacks.

"Yo," he said, greeting Tilestone. The man would look at Kairo, his gaze landing on the light writing on the boy's shirt.

{I am Samuel and I am replacement for Lucci}

"Samuel, why are you back so soon?" He even had the questioning look on his face and everything. His acting was decent—not too good, but not too bad either.

"So... Boss sent me to get some booze for him. I don't know what he drinks." Samuel would look like a complete beginner.

"And so I thought since you knew him better, you would know what he likes better." Samuel had like two drinks in his hand—one was red wine, and the other was sake.

"Oh, Iceburg drinks red wine with Granny Kokoro all the time." The man would smack Samuel on the back as if they were old acquaintances. Samuel looked like he wasn't used to such friendliness.

"You're hurting me," he said weakly.

"Bwahaha, don't worry. Give it time—you'll get used to it." Samuel had a weak smile on his face, truly looking like a weak man.

He would then turn his head around and see the Navy.

"Hm... what are they doing here?" he questioned, looking around.

Garp was picking his nose. This was just like a regular day. Hell, with his senses, sensing the boy's Haki, it was barely—and I mean barely—above average. That shit was even weaker than Tilestone's, so you know he wasn't a threat in the slightest. Yet he wasn't so much of a non-threat that it would be suspicious.

He was just in that sweet spot: weak enough not to raise an eyebrow, but strong enough not to be suspicious.

Kuzan also kinda felt the same way, ish. Nothing about this guy screamed extraordinaire.

"We the Navy. We're here to look for the Straw Hat pirates. Have you seen them?" Random Navy #29 would say.

"Oh, them? They were like by the har—"

Tilestone cleared his throat, which made Samuel look at him.

Then realization seemed to hit him.

"Nope. I have never seen them a day in my life. Matter of fact, I am quite near-sighted."

'He is lying,' Koby and Helmeppo would think at the same time. It seemed like their guess was right—the Straw Hats were still on the island.

"You know lying to the Navy can land you in jail?" Random Navy #29 said.

"It can!" The boy looked a bit stressed.

"Actually, Iceburg needs you for something," Tilestone said.

"But didn't he send me to—" The look he got from the man made him shut up.

"On it." And just like that, he vanished from sight, turning around the corner and going deeper into the mansion.

"Don't mind him, he is quite nervous. This is his first job," Tilestone said.

"Should we investigate the ports?" Bogard questioned Garp.

"Sure, do what you want. Heard this place had some crackers." The big back was just worried about his food and nothing else. He could not sense Luffy in the mansion, so his grandson must be somewhere else.

Kuzan was wondering if he should sleep now or later. It wasn't like he held high hopes of finding the Straw Hats—not because the Straw Hats were very strong; hell, they were not even the strongest new crew in the sea.

No, it was because of a certain Lunarian. If his info was right, the Straw Hats, if not stopped now and allowed to go deeper, would become absolute demons in the future.

He could see it now. If the Straw Hats were allowed to grow...

"This is going to be a pain." Just thinking about it got him feeling slightly annoyed. Only a month had passed since his fight with the Lunarian—there was no way he grew too much.
