Chapter 219 - Chapter 218 Conversation in the Abyss

Hearing Neuvillette's question, Yuto sighed helplessly in his heart, then repeated what he had said to Lumine.

Neuvillette fell into deep thought after listening to Yuto's narration.

"The Foul Surtalogi... a name I've never heard before..."

"So... you and that Miss's 'master' are both him?"

Neuvillette asked, looking at the relaxed Yuto.

"Although this sudden relationship is somewhat inexplicable, factually speaking, it is indeed so."

Yuto shrugged slightly, as if expressing his helplessness to Neuvillette.

To Yuto, he truly didn't know that he would be counted as The Foul's disciple.

Originally, he thought that possessing power from the same source as him and becoming his disciple were fundamentally different.

But now it seems, things are not as simple as he thought.

His entanglement with the Abyss... may not stop at The Foul.

Perhaps one day in the future, he will have dealings with The Foul, or even... with other'sinners'.

Of course, those are future matters, and the current Yuto doesn't need to worry so much.

Neuvillette looked at Yuto, whose expression was sometimes solemn and sometimes relaxed, and was at a loss for a moment.

His understanding of humans... no, of Immortal Spirits, was not enough for him to figure out the reason for Yuto's emotional changes.

Neuvillette cleared his throat slightly, then spoke:

"My personal questions have been asked. Next... is a work discussion."

"Regarding the 'voices' recently circulating in the streets and alleys, including the Fatui and Spina di Rosula's promotion of their content... do they all originate from you?"

Yuto nodded noncommittally, then said as a matter of course:

"On the day The Prophecy ended, the vast majority of Fontaine's people believed that 'The Prophecy is false'. I don't believe you would feel good hearing that."

"Although 'that matter' cannot be made public, we must at least return to her the honor and respect she deserves, right?"

"Also, the only manifestation of 'that matter' in the public eye is the complete shutdown of the Oratrice Mecanique D'analyse Cardinale. We must give a reliable explanation for this."

Hearing this, Neuvillette took a deep look at Yuto in front of him, then spoke:

"I don't have an opinion on this matter, but rather... having lost her god's heart—"

Before Neuvillette could finish, Yuto asked indifferently:

"'Having lost her god's heart, she might be impeached from the position of Water God'—you want to say that, right?"

Neuvillette was slightly stunned, then nodded gently, saying nothing.

He knew very well that his colleague had made thorough preparations.

"Lady Furina has resigned. I have already had Sedna post the matter of her god's heart and her resignation statement on the bulletin board."

"So... you don't need to worry about these things. Since I decided to intervene in this matter from the very beginning... it means I will definitely consider all situations."

With that, Yuto paused slightly, then continued:

"Just like when I revised the General Law."

Hearing this, Neuvillette nodded slightly, acknowledging Yuto's actions, then asked:

"You should have gotten the god's heart, right?"

"I have. So, when are your agreed negotiation and handover times with Arlecchino? This afternoon? Tomorrow morning?"

"The negotiation time is this afternoon. As for the handover time... it will be according to your agreement."

Yuto nodded slightly, then stood up from his seat and said:

"I understand. I will try my best to make the Fatui feel a sense of awe towards Fontaine, so that they will restrain themselves a little in the early period of 'no god'."

"If there's nothing else... I'll go prepare for this afternoon's negotiation."

"Alright."

...

What Yuto didn't know was... while he and Neuvillette were discussing how to handle the aftermath, someone in the Abyss was also discussing him.

"So... you've completely decided to pull him to our front line?" a rather aged voice asked.

"Of course, otherwise why would I give him so much convenience? Just because I find him pleasing to the eye?" a dull metallic sound came from the darkness.

Although the voice was obstructed by an iron mask, the scorn in the words was still evident.

To Surtalogi, the question asked by the Prophet was truly redundant.

"If you want to find him, go find him. His current power is already equivalent to that of a Descender, why be so secretive?"

"Anyway... according to what you said, even if you don't see him now, in the future, when he unleashes the power of the Immortal Spirit, you will have to see him."

At this point, the sound of armor rubbing echoed from the darkness, seemingly representing Surtalogi's somewhat impatient mood at the moment.

"...If that's the case... then let's meet him before his destiny takes its next turn..."

"I hope he can successfully obtain the fragmented chapters of that book..."

With that, a violent elemental fluctuation came from the darkness, and the aged voice instantly disappeared from its original spot, leaving Surtalogi alone in the darkness.

Looking at the deep shadows before him, Surtalogi gently shook his head, then murmured softly:

"Now it's the Prophet, who will it be next? Gold? The Sage? The Moon Hunter?"

"No, not the Moon Hunter. I finally found a 'perfect one' I find pleasing to the eye. If he's taken away by him because of the alignment of justice, I won't stand for it."

Accompanied by this soft mumble, the towering black figure also disappeared into the shadows.

This corner, unnoticed even in the Abyss... once again fell silent.

Current backlog: 33 chapters

Let me talk about the update plan, to avoid people asking every day if it's finished or something.

The latest completion time for this book is November, meaning it will continue to update throughout August, September, and October, and officially conclude in November.

The estimated final word count is around 1.1 million characters.

In early October, specifically before October 15th, my Star Rail Simulator on my homepage will resume updates and then conclude according to the previous pace.

During August and September... I might also write two original novels, trying out the 'feel-good' genre.

Also, this might be the last fanfiction I write. Whenever I write fanfiction, various low-IQ brats jump at you, thinking they know everything but know nothing when asked.

I don't like deleting posts or muting people, and I'm too lazy to get into internal friction with you. I still have books to write.

But if you jump at me, don't blame me for deleting posts and muting you.
