Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 - The Aura Instructor (1)

Lucky woke up groggily, sometimes he wondered if he was still a normal human.

With his vampire body and all of that extreme training he did, surely waking up from an 8-hour sleep would be fine.

But nope, he still felt like waking up was his worst enemy.

After bathing and eating breakfast with the girls, Elena briefed him on some shocking news.

"The survivors of our ambush are here?" Asked Lucky.

"Yes, just yesterday, they decided to confess of their mission here. Apparently they became mercenaries after the Utara Kingdom's regime change," said Elena.

"How many were they in total?" Asked Lucky.

"They are 13 in total. They consist of 6 mages and 7 knights. You know those Royal Mages sent by the Utara Kingdom to attack us? Well, these 6 mages are those mages," answered Erina instead.

"And why are they doing this?" Asked Lucky in confusion. This event was like that of a group of mice surrendering themselves to a bunch of cats as an act of subordination.

"Well, apparently they are against the new King of Utara," said Erina.

"Whatever their reasons are, this is good. And what about the knights? How capable are they?" Asked Lucky.

"All but one are 1st Rates," exclaimed Elena.

"What does that mean?" Asked Lucky.

"It means they are Aura wielders. Six of the seven Knights are 1st Rate, and the last one is a Master Knight. He is applying into our military as an Aura instructor," spoke Elena.

"An Aura instructor.... so he's gonna be teaching our soldiers Aura? Huh, neat I guess," spoke Lucky. He was more or less apathetic to the thought of Aura.

After all, the vampire soldiers already had their own style of training using his own extreme training regiment as inspiration.

And for the regular soldiers, the guns were more efficient to learn and master than Aura.

Lucky guessed that out of all the soldiers in Oer, only a small percentage would actually want to learn Aura.

Before even knowing the tiers of Aura wielders, he had already been briefed about how Aura was merely a primitive recreation of Magic.

What he was most interested was the status of the mages.

"And what of the Royal Mages? No, I guess they're now former Royal Mages?" Asked Lucky.

"I can answer that one," spoke Ella.

"They've applied as Magic instructors in our Academy," she added.

"When do they start working in our Academy?" He asked in excitement. The prospect of learning magic was something that a lot of humans on Earth fantasized, including hinself.

"Actually, since they haven't learned of our new language yet, they're still in the middle of studying. I plan to open magic classes after they've mastered our language," spoke Ella.

"And when would that be?" Asked Lucky.

"It seems that the 4th Cricle Mage has a knack for learning languages. But the 3rd Circle Mages are struggling with our new writing system. It seems that all 6 of them mastering it would take at least a few months," said Ella.

"Can't be helped then. Fortunately for them, it's mostly just the writing system that's completely new," spoke Lucky.

Now that the Utara Kingdom had a new ruler, they gave up trying to retake Oer and were now focused on solidifying their internal forces.

Many months passed and the progress of Oer's expansion, both vertically and horizontally, had skyrocketed.

What used to just be Oer and a few villages, had now expanded into 3 cities and dozens of small towns.

This was all in the span of a few months.

Unlike the first few villages taken through military force, these new towns and 2 new cities were built on empty plots of land.

They were built on both the outskirts of Mutant Forest and within it.

The fact that Mutant Forest had been lacking any powerful Mutants was now public information.

It was an odd situation that only happened after Lucky's arrival to this world. Only now was it finally being noticed by the continent's inhabitants.

Thus, for the past few months, kingdoms, empires, and other forms of nations had begun their expansion into the forest.

Since the expansion had produced 2 new cities and dozens of new towns, Lucky could not just call his own nation Oer anymore.

And thus, he decided to name it something new.

Since his Kingdom was a melting pot of cultures and races, he took inspiration from Greek mythology.

Not many people outside of his Kingdom knew what it looked like. And with the insane progression of its technology and infrastructure, nobody knows how it would look like in just a few decades.

Thus, he decided to name his new country Pandora.

And from a different perspective, it was kind of accurate.

In the Greek mythology, Pandora opened her jar and unleashed countless evils to the world.

In a way, Lucky was the evil being unleashed into this world.

Because from the perspective of Kalastus, this planet's god, the humans sent here by that higher dimensional being were evil beings ruining his world.

Another reason for this name was just Lucky thinking that it was a cool name. The logical reasoning behind it came as merely an afterthought.

Pandora was generally seen as a kingdom by it's residents and the outside world. But in the country's new constitution, it refers to itself as a Sovereignty.

The Sovereignty of Pandora.

Lucky was the Sovereign ruling it.

And right now, an expeditionary force was exploring Mutant Forest.

They were soldiers from Pandora.

Funnily enough, Aurea was part of this force.

His rank and position? A new recruit.

'Maybe I should have just applied into the academy like the mages did,' thought Aurea.

He thought that applying as an Aura instructor would land him a high position.

But when he applied, he had to start from the very bottom.

Moreover....

'Even though I've spent months as a soldier, I haven't been promoted yet?' He questioned.

Though months had passed, he was stuck as a recruit. Not even a private, but a mere recruit.

Well, there was an explanation to it. He was the worst soldier to ever join.

Because he had spent the past 10 years of his life as a Knight, and the 5 years before that as a mercenary, he subconsciously loathed the idea of becoming a mere soldier.

Thus, whenever given orders, he would talk back and give his opinions instead of just obeying orders.

Being a Master Aura wielder also made him feel superior to the soldiers.

In his mind, Knights ranked higher than soldiers.

But this was not just any military, this was Pandora's military. A military that modeled itself after the militaries of modern Earth, with some tweaks of course.

Thus, there was no such thing as a Knight position.

There was no such thing as swordsmanship either in this military.

The melee equipments for the military of Pandora were knives and bayonets.

The rest were gunpowder-based weapons.

And for the vampires, they also had their own powers.
