Chapter 607 - Chapter 607: Wraith, a Member of Fairy Tail

"Huh?"

Natsu tilted his head, completely confused.

A smile spread across Wraith's face as he looked at Natsu, Raizel, and the others.

"I remember everything now. I can't keep fighting you anymore."

While Natsu was still trying to process that, Wraith possessed Happy again and slowly recited a list of names they all knew.

"Guild Master Precht, Makarov, Porlyusica, Goldmine, Yajima, Bob, Rob... Are they all doing well?"

"Huh?!"

This time, Raizel, Wendy, Lucy, Natsu, and Carla all stared at him in matching confusion.

Wendy thought for a moment before answering.

"They're all doing well. The Second Master is currently Chairman of the Magic Council, and Makarov-jiisan is our guild master now. Mr. Bob and Mr. Goldmine left to establish their own guilds. Porlyusica-san is still Fairy Tail's doctor, while Grandpa Rob and Mr. Yajima have both retired."

Rob had returned to his hometown to teach the next generation.

He lived rather far away, but he still regularly contacted Makarov and Yajima through long-distance communication Lacrima.

A nostalgic expression appeared on Happy's face as Wraith looked up toward the sky with a smile.

"That's good. That's really good... Now I can leave without any regrets."

Wendy hurriedly stopped him.

"Wait! Do you mean...?"

"That's right. I was once a member of Fairy Tail. I died after being attacked by a monster, but I lost my memories and wandered the world as a ghost."

"I think it's finally time for me to leave."

Wraith could have passed on at any time.

His confused memories had simply convinced him that someone murdered him, and his desire for revenge kept him from letting go.

"Wait!" Wendy shouted. "Would you like to see Makarov-jiisan and the others again? I know a way!"

Wraith's voice immediately filled with excitement.

"Is that really possible?"

Since Makarov was not a Dragon Slayer, he would never be able to see Wraith in his ghostly state.

Wraith had never dared hope they could meet again.

Wendy explained her idea.

"I can use High Enchantment Magic to grant a weapon a personality and humanoid form. If you possess a weapon first, I should be able to replace the enchanted personality with yours."

"The drawback is that you still wouldn't truly be human. You'd technically be a sword with a physical body that other people can see and speak to."

Wraith agreed without hesitation.

"That's fine. I don't care."

All he wanted was the chance to return and catch up with Makarov, Porlyusica, and the others.

Then, once they eventually grew old and passed away, he could leave alongside them.

Wendy took out a magic crystal ball.

"Please enter this first."

"No problem."

Wraith nodded and left Happy's body.

He transformed into white light and entered the crystal ball, where a small white flame began flickering gently inside.

By possessing Happy, Wraith had also allowed Raizel, Lucy, and Wendy to understand the whole story.

Raizel had never expected Wraith to be a former member of Fairy Tail.

Though one question remained.

How had he drifted all the way to the northern continent?

...

Kagura and Kiria's battle was already nearing its end.

"What's wrong with those weapons of yours?!"

Kiria had kept bragging that there was nothing she could not cut, yet after clashing with Kagura for so long, neither Archenemy nor Astron had suffered the slightest damage.

Instead, Kiria's arms were covered in wounds from meeting their blades head-on.

Kagura had not escaped unscathed either. Blade Dragon's Roar had torn parts of her clothing and left several cuts across her body, including one bleeding wound on her right cheek.

They were nothing serious, though. Wendy could heal them easily.

"A cursed blade and a dragon-slaying sword," Kagura answered.

The moment Kiria heard "dragon-slaying sword," she understood.

Most of the wounds covering her body had been inflicted by Astron.

Her eyes gleamed as she stared at the sword and licked her lips.

"A dragon-slaying sword? No wonder. Fine, then. Your weapons belong to me!"

"Watch me cut away your 'strength'!"

Kiria raised her right hand and tried to use hypnosis on Kagura again.

Kagura made no attempt to dodge. She simply allowed the blade of force to pass through her.

The attack itself was only a distraction, meant to support Kiria's claim that she had cut away Kagura's strength.

Kiria crooked a finger at her.

"There. I've severed your 'strength.' Now become my obedient pet."

"Come here."

Kagura's eyes appeared empty as she slowly walked toward Kiria like a puppet with its strings pulled.

Kiria ordered, "Kneel."

Kagura bent her knees as though she truly intended to obey.

Then—

"Astron: Azure Dragon Form!"

A streak of blue light burst from Kagura's sleeve.

Azure Dragon Form concealed the blade within the sleeve until the moment of release, striking like a dragon surging from the sea.

The spectral azure dragon smashed into the completely unprepared Kiria and sent her flying.

"Archenemy: Azure Phoenix Form!"

Kagura pressed the advantage.

The blade of Archenemy became wrapped in the image of an azure phoenix as she swept past Kiria in midair.

Boom!

Flames from the explosion engulfed Kiria.

She shot out of the blast like a kite with its string cut, slammed heavily into the ground, and lost consciousness.

Kagura looked down at her without expression.

"Why did you think the same technique would work on me twice?"

...

Erza's battle with Madmole was also nearing its conclusion.

After understanding the limits of the Armor Dragon's abilities, Erza Requipped the Ink Dragon Armor.

Apart from his defense, Madmole's abilities were a mess.

He was slow, his attacks had decent power, but he could barely land them.

He was not unlike Erza when she wore her Adamantine Armor.

Now clad in Ink Dragon Armor, Erza swung her Fangtian Halberd in broad, powerful arcs, driving Madmole backward again and again.

Every so often, she would Requip the dragon-slaying sword Altron into her left hand and slip in a surprise attack.

Dragging the halberd behind her, Erza carved sparks across the ground.

She swept upward, slashed sideways, spun around, then brought the weapon down with enough force to split a mountain.

The crescent blade slammed directly into the top of Madmole's head.

He coughed up blood and staggered back several steps before shaking his head to clear it.

His defenses really were impressive.

Even after taking that blow, he remained standing.

But Erza's assault never slowed.

Spinning the Fangtian Halberd, she leaped high and brought it crashing down on Madmole again.

With no time left to evade, Madmole poured Magic Power into both arms and raised them to block.

The impact cratered the ground beneath his feet.

His arms immediately fell limp at his sides.

'What kind of strength is this?!'

Madmole stared in horror.

Both arms were completely broken.

Even so, he was still in better condition than Nebaru, who had grown furious enough to activate Dragon Force and fight to the death.

Of course, only Nebaru was treating it as a life-or-death battle.

Mira had no intention of killing him, no matter how disgusting his attacks were.

The Sticky Dragon had already chewed gum that enhanced his strength, yet he still could not overpower Mira after she Took Over Mard Geer and transformed into an Etherious.

The white serpents summoned by the Underworld King's Whiteout Curse could even devour his webs.

"I'm going to eat you!"

...

Skullion and Ultear had yet to finish their battle.

More accurately, Skullion was losing.

Without activating Dragon Force, he could not harm Ultear at all.

Skullion clenched his teeth.

"Damn it. They're stronger than we expected!"

And that was without mentioning Raizel, who was standing by the entrance and watching everything unfold.

They had only caught a brief glimpse of his power during their last encounter, but it was already obvious that he was the strongest person in this group.
