Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: An Answering Hound

The Family fleet seemed to have already realized something. Only after the Xianzhou side responded to the signal did they send a communication request.

Part of the later conversation also proved this to be true.

The Family fleet had already noticed something unusual about this space. To ensure that the Xianzhou ship was not an illusion nor bait disguised by some dangerous creature, they first used light signals to confirm the authenticity of the Xianzhou ship and whether communication was possible.

After all, after so many years of evolution, compared to those light chasing creatures that pursue stars, hunters sensitive to radio signals are more common.

Their ships did not have strong firepower. If they encountered a mature giant beast, it would be difficult to deal with.

However, after confirming that this was indeed a Xianzhou ship, things became much easier.

The communication between the two fleets was much smoother than expected.

Very quickly, it progressed from signal light exchanges to voice conversation, and from voice conversation to boarding for face to face talks.

The people of the Family were much easier to get along with than expected. Without much effort, Tingyun and Nero, along with some technical personnel, had already boarded the Family's ship.

After the following discussions and information sharing, everyone confirmed one thing.

The Family fleet had encountered the same situation as the Minghuo Merchant Guild.

They kept sailing, yet remained in the same place.

And compared to the Xianzhou side, most of the people on the Family ship were very anxious, as if they had something urgent to do.

"See, I told you the ship isn't the problem!" Nero said proudly to the young assistant beside him.

The assistant looked at Nero, his heart already filled with confusion.

He really could not understand how this child figured it out just by slapping it twice.

Meanwhile, a Family technician in a suit looked at Nero with curiosity.

Although the exchange between this white haired boy and the Foxian pilot had been brief, it was not hard for him to draw a conclusion.

Based on the timing, the first one to see that the problem was not with the ship itself was neither their Family workers nor the Xianzhou technicians, but this child who by all appearances should not have deep knowledge in this area.

However, considering the lifespan of the Xianzhou people, the Family technician frowned, knowing he could not treat Nero as a short lived species.

'Perhaps this boy might already be several hundred years old!'

He knew that among long lived species there were many races. Perhaps this old monster who looked like a teenager belonged to a race like the Pepeshi, who were hard to grow tall.

Nero did not have mind reading abilities and did not know what this Family technician was thinking.

If he knew, he would definitely use the hilt of Black Cutter to knock a big bump on this guy's head.

"Thi-this child… is he the most experienced technician in your team?" the Family technician asked the young Foxian assistant.

The Foxian assistant narrowed his eyes, his tone somewhat frustrated, probably because he had been hit hard by Nero. "No, he's just some young master from who knows which family…"

"I see…"

The Family technician looked at Nero, not expecting that he had guessed wrong.

'By the way, this child is really good looking!'

His delicate features and natural temperament reminded him of Miss Robin.

However…

He had never seen any race that could match or even surpass the natural beauty of the Halovian people.

He had heard others mention the Knights of Beauty, saying that those who follow Idrila possess appearances as beautiful as their spirits.

Unfortunately, he was always traveling through the universe with the ship. He neither lived long term on prosperous planets like Penacony of the Family, nor stayed on planets they passed by.

Not to mention seeing a Knight of Beauty, besides the brothers and sisters on the ship whom he already knew well, he rarely saw outsiders, and deep interactions were even more out of the question.

"In short, he is not a member participating in our discussion."

The Foxian assistant needed to stay away from Nero for a while to soothe his wounded pride. Before the Family technician could say more to Nero, he pulled the man away.

Nearby, a young man from the Hound family line, with a strong build, kept shifting his gaze and sneaking glances at Nero.

He would look once, then move his gaze away, then carefully look again, then quickly look away.

No one knew what he was thinking.

Nero had long noticed this sneaky guy. As soon as the Foxian assistant left, he walked toward the young Hound.

Seeing Nero approach, the young Hound immediately stiffened, straightened his chest, looked straight ahead, and pretended he was seriously standing guard.

"Let me ask you something!" Nero stood beside the young Hound and said, "What is your fleet doing? Do you have a goal? And where is the leader?"

The young Hound glanced at Nero subconsciously, then quickly pulled his gaze back, his face turning red. "C-Can't say… don't ask me…"

Nero blinked. "So that means you do know. Then just tell me!"

"I…"

The young Hound's face turned even redder. He frowned tightly, pressed his lips together, and his eyes drifted toward Nero.

"Our fleet is escorting Miss Robin to the planet of her next performance!" His tongue slipped, and he spilled everything.

The moment he finished speaking, the young Hound froze, then his expression turned terrified.

How did he just blurt it out?

This was supposed to be confidential. The superior had clearly emphasized that if others found out, Miss Robin would be troubled.

"I see." Nero nodded. Robin was a big star. So on this ship, she was the one who could call the shots.

That said, Nero was not very interested in Robin's status. He had asked about the Family fleet's purpose out of curiosity.

As for now…

Robin was a big star. Since there was a chance to meet her, he might as well try.

Take a photo together, get an autograph or something. It could be sold for money, or used to show off to everyone. Keeping it as a collection would also be nice.

Normally it might be a bit sudden, but now everyone was stuck in the same predicament. Coming out to meet once should not be a problem, right?

On the other hand, since there were no clues about how to solve the situation, being idle was being idle. It was better to find something to do.

"Then do you know where Robin is?" Nero asked again.

"Miss Robin is in the second level cabin, the last lounge on the left row."

After saying that, the young Hound widened his eyes in shock and covered his mouth.

He looked at Nero, his expression gradually becoming serious and fierce. Why did his mouth move on its own and say it again?

"What did you do to me?"

The young Hound questioned with a red face, only to receive a single response, "Idiot."

After that, Nero went with Tingyun to find Robin.

While walking, Nero complained to Tingyun, "He answers every question I ask. How can he blame me! So rude!"
