Chapter 372 - Chapter 372: Impressions of Nero

"Because more than a thousand years ago, this was the battlefield where the great Heliobus Ignamar fought a fierce battle against a certain general of the Luofu!"

"The furnace was shattered, and the Heliobus escaped. The Heliobus fragments that once made up Ignamar all returned because of their long-held wish to fight that general once more."

"Speaking of that great battle, it truly shook the heavens and moved the spirits! Ignamar transformed endlessly, flooding with water, scorching with fire, collapsing mountains, and calling down lightning. It fought that general to a complete stalemate, evenly matched!"

With a dramatic rise and fall in her voice, Cirrus spoke as if she could make people picture that grand battle.

If ordinary people were here, they would definitely be impressed by such a scene. But who was present right now? Nero and his friends. What kind of big scene had they not seen before?

After a brief silence, Stelle said something that nearly made Cirrus cough up blood.

"Sounds pretty impressive. But thinking about it carefully, it seems just okay. Doesn't really feel that amazing."

Ordinary people might not be qualified to make such a judgment, but Stelle clearly was.

Not to mention that she had once taken the Doomsday Beast's ultimate attack head-on. She had experienced the blazing fury of the Engine of Creation, the Imaginary monument cast down by the Mother of Deception, General Jing Yuan's Divine Foresight, the falling stars dropped by the Lord Ravager Phantylia, the starry sky ignited by Falcorez, the neutron star explosion preserved within a fragment, the Swarm Disaster of the Simulated Universe, Nero's sword that split the heavens, and the giant Xianzhou warships on the Hunt.

For experiences like these, not to mention ordinary humans, even among long-life species, most people might not see even a few of them in their entire lives. Besides, not many of those scenes were any smaller than the battle Cirrus had described.

Overall, as someone who had personally gone through those events, Stelle was curious about the battle Cirrus spoke of, but she was not amazed by the picture she painted.

No need to ask why.

She had simply seen too much.

After Stelle's comment, which was like covering fire with sand, Huohuo asked an even more fatal question.

"Was it... really evenly matched?"

"Absolutely!" Cirrus stubbornly insisted.

Although she had possessed Stelle's body, the time had been too short. She had not had the chance to search through the unforgettable scenes in Stelle's memories.

If she had seen Stelle's memories, she naturally would not be using the battle between Ignamar and Tengxiao as an example right now.

If she had seen Stelle's memories, she would probably have immediately questioned the nature of the Astral Express and painted the identity of the Nameless with some indescribably sinister undertones.

It was hard to imagine what kind of beings the Nameless really were to have personally witnessed such things...

Although Cirrus's "absolutely" sounded firm and decisive, Huohuo said, "According to the records of the Ten-Lords Commission, Ignamar should have... been completely defeated by a general named Tengxiao?"

Cirrus said disdainfully, "Hmph. In human records, of course they'll only praise the general's achievements!"

"Unfortunately, although the great Heliobus Ignamar absorbed the power of countless Heliobus brethren, it still underestimated human cunning and suffered a narrow defeat at that general's hands."

"After the final battle, Ignamar could no longer gather itself into one form. It scattered into different 'spirit fragments' and was sealed inside the Creation Furnace."

"But exceptions always exist..."

Cirrus paused here before looking toward Tail.

"I thought Lord Tail had escaped and gone off to live freely... but who would've thought you'd end up being subdued by this little fox girl? That's really hilarious."

"Subdued my ass!" Tail said. "I was a tiger fallen into the plains and happened to run into this little fox. My luck was absolute garbage!"

What Tail said suddenly made everyone curious about how he and Huohuo had met. Under everyone's curious gazes, Huohuo did not hide it and spoke up.

"When I was little, I found a dying ball of fire in a corner of the Luofu..."

"I felt sorry for it and placed it on my tail... Then... I didn't expect Lord Tail to try to eat me! Luckily, the judges arrived in time, or I would've been in serious trouble."

"It was just a tiny snack that couldn't even fill the gaps between my teeth. Saying I was going to eat you is a bit exaggerated, isn't it?" Tail said.

Huohuo fell silent for a moment before continuing.

"The tears I've cried over regretting it all these years... must be the water that got into my head when I made that decision back then..."

Listening to Huohuo and Tail talk about how they met, Cirrus clicked her tongue.

"How interesting... Haha. Too bad Lord Tail didn't succeed. Otherwise, using this little girl's body, he might've risen again and, like Ignamar, turned the Xianzhou upside down!"

After Cirrus said that, Tail suddenly burst into loud laughter. A few wisps of faint green fire drifted from the corners of his eyes like tears from laughing too hard.

"What are you laughing at?" Cirrus looked at Tail in confusion.

"What am I laughing at? Of course I'm laughing at you. Turn the Xianzhou upside down? Maybe I would've imagined that before, but now..."

Tail stopped and turned toward Nero.

"See that brat? He's the hurdle I'll never get past. I don't admit that very often. Kid, you should be secretly pleased."

"Him?"

Cirrus also looked toward Nero.

However, she could not see anything particularly special about him. The only difference was that he seemed a little brighter than everyone else.

From what she had observed earlier, Cirrus admitted that this white-haired kid had some ability. But it did not seem necessary to treat him as dramatically as Tail did.

After all, Cirrus had only just met Nero and had not observed him for long. She obviously had no real understanding of his abilities and simply thought he was smart, brave, and strong.

Tail was different.

After Nero returned to the Xianzhou and came into contact with Huohuo, Tail had often observed him.

In his eyes, this white-haired kid was strange and unsettling.

There was no need to mention things like casually finding wanted criminals while taking a walk, his excessively beautiful appearance, or his inexplicably glowing soul. If Tail's feelings back then had not been wrong, this kid could genuinely bestow blessings on people.

And besides that...

Tail could not help recalling some things that happened after Nero comforted Huohuo...

After staying in the Ten-Lords Commission for so long, he understood a little about the Fate of True Misfortune. Yet after that encounter, Huohuo's luck seemed to start improving.

Luck was obviously something difficult to grasp or measure.

But some unconscious actions by this white-haired kid... whether his behavior or his words... could make the phrase "fortune turns around" become noticeably real in a very short period of time.

It was as if... he had directly changed Huohuo's fate.

But in reality, it also seemed that nothing had changed.

Even now, Tail had not figured it out.

As for his view of Nero, aside from handsome and powerful, only strange and unsettling remained.
