Tamasya set the flowers in a vase by the side of her bed. The deep red carnations spread a faint, sweet fragrance through the room. She adjusted them carefully, trying to delay the inevitable need to turn around.
William leaned against a wall near the entrance, smiling as he crossed his hands and looked at her figure. His posture was relaxed, but his gaze was anything but casual; it looked at her, trying to etch her image in his mind forever.
He had just been like this for quite a few minutes now.
<"He just keeps looking at you,"> Shadow spoke in Tamasya's mind while she set the flowers.
Tamasya's heart beat wildly.
"What do I do now? What do I say?? He's been so silent. He just came and made me flustered by his poetic words, and now his gaze is all over me. What happened to his lover?? Did she leave him?? Or did he leave her for me?"
