At the edge of a village lies a hill with a flat top at its top stands a majestic Castle at the edge of a cliff, it faces west overlooking the village,on the twenty first of the 3rd month of the sovereign, lady's rejoice the Duke of agner village has birthed a son.
The villagers awaited the news of the gender and birth of their kind and humble leiges heir so they could celebrate to their hearts content, but knowing Conrades character inside they knew no Greater joy could compare than the two newly parents lady leidia and Duke Conrad himself.
It had been 9minutes ago since she had gon through labor only the doctors and the doctors assistants her handmaid and her personal butler body gaurd and shoffer claus were in attendance their were multiple doctors just in case of a complication and the event lady leidia had waited for a long time happened, the doctor moved in close as he bent his back the sight in his arms was a baby boy a weak leidia moved her right arm and caressed the child's cheeks,"my baby boy".
The Doctors in thought began to panic inwardly why hasn't it released a single cry they began thinking it was an issue before they could voice there concerns Claus pulled some to him and said," a lion does not cry when expected but when it desires"and as he said that,"he whispered to the main doctor it will cry when it wants", the Doctors were significantly concerned as this blind man they had met only when entering this room was speaking with such confidence when a single issue could result in there heads being permanently removed.
As it was tradition of this land for the husband to not lay his eyes on child before the wife,sir Conrad had been instructed to wait outside the bedroom door,when lady leidia was in pain and her voice could be heard across the hallway he sat down, his head connecting to the door he had told leidia to use charms and special medicine to relieve the pain,but she had wanted to experience a natural birth strong headed women she was.
With each aching moment Conrads face would contort pretending to be okay he would go up and down the hallway mumbling to himself and slightly tapping his head on the wall his personal butler and body gaurd doulos watching in amusement," what are you looking at", Conrad said,"when that baby's born, I'll sell you off to him if you keep up this nonchalant attitude of yours ".
Doulos replied," I'm only being professional sire", Conrad looked him in the eye and moved closer bending his posture having both his hands on his hips and delivering a mean kick to Doulos the statue,saying," what did I tell you, I'm not the king stop addressing me as sire it could get me in trouble,imagine if such a thing spread and I be labeled as Conrad the arrogant".
Doulos replied,"if such a thing happened I would surely personally avenge your honor on the spies who told", simultaneously doulos made a gesture of the slitting of ones throat,"besides he added your my imployer so you might aswell be my liege", Conrad looked at him stumped with no arguments and no energy left to spend on his dear butler and old friend.
Suddenly a creak could be heard at their sides as the gold lined doors opened.The doctors assistant walking out at that exact moment a sudden cry could be heard unlike that of lady leidia herself Conrad and doulos turned there heads simultaneously facing each other with wide open eyes Conrad jolted forth brushing past the assistant causing him to stumble and fall,going straight for a sweating leidia he fell to his knees and began caressing her hand Claus ever so loyal had been keeping his eyes ever so closed relying only of his sensory abilities just in case of danger poison or any other abnormality although not a master he had some medical expertees.
The reason he did this is that as a father himself he felt it blasphemous to see sir Conrads child before he did so interms of the child he had even suppressed his sensory abilities to not get a detailed description it also had something to do with not being willing to see his lady in a compromised position,her being like a daughter to him,Doulos looked at Claus as he came in and gave a gentle nodd with his head showing respect for his fellow butler ,lady leidia looked to her right as she mustered up the strength.
Give it here wrestling her hands away from a concerned Conrad he closed his eyes,she had told him that she and her hands alone would be the one to show him their child.she wrapped the baby with the finest linen cloth held the baby in her arms in a position similar to a cradle and told," you can look now ",Conrad who had turned his head and placed both hands over his eyes had finally looked the baby opened its eyes slightly to reveal its blue eyes.
From the babies perspective a concious voice had woken up and began to speak in his head. Conrad seemed to be a man in his late 20s or early 30s he had jet black curly hair that seemed over grown,he had a round face barely revealing a jaw,and a pale skin tone, with dark blue eyes and a neutral hue he wore a single monocle on his left eye, on his hands he wore two white gloves, while wearing a 3 piece black and white suit, one gold and silver inlaid watch on his left hand,and a black belt, these were the latest fashions for the upper class and their male servants although conrads Quality far surpassed the other servants.
Then their was the woman currently holding him fair skinned with a neutral hue a cat like facial structure and dark blonde hair a yellow that some could mistake for gold with her bright blue eyes she simply looked devine and near them a man in his late 40s could be seen with a grey set of hair pushing backwards a classic mustache and a rather pointy beard well he did have a rather pointy chin with a slightly wide forehead silver eyes and a chiseled appearance,his cheeks lit up and tears raced down his face mumbling to himself,"such a beautiful thing".
Amidst his words another man stood right across giving Claus a side eye he was firmly in his late 20s he had dark eyes straightened hair that slightly passed his ears and forked in 3 ways when arriving at his forehead and face he was clean shaven he had perfectly white teeth he giving off an omnious ancient but seductive vibe as if he was a vampire wearing a grinning expression after witnessing clauses reaction.
Doulos replied with," I know he will follow the appearance of his parents and if not and he turns into an ugly little lad, god forbid it coming from my sires seed", he bent down his hand in a bent motion then he grinned again," there's nothing a little transformation magic cant fix , I heard it even fixes bust size if you know what I mean my lady".
Conrades mouth and Claus were left agape with their eyes wide open, only for lady leidia to deliver a laugh and Doulos to smile and say ,"you guys know no fun ",Conrad lifted himself with tears flowing and said in a Quick fashion ,"well you don't know when to stop if it wasn't for leidia being so gracious as her kindness equals her beauty than you would of been kicked out effective immediately" or atleast thrown imprison,for the next 2 months", Conrad bent his frame and pointed out,Claus could not help but grit and grind his teeth he was not a man of many words after all and in an argument of words Doulos could only lose in two ways one to lady leidia and two by a command.
"We should be expecting gifts from delegations from all around the country as they show there respects and others attempting to sniff your entrails", this was a common slang term meaning to do everything to gain someone's approval," and may I not forget the king himself he should give you a promotion honestly,Duke isn't enough my lord".
Lady leidia replied ,"what an entrail eater you are yourself Doulos", only for a grin to surface on Doulos face and say," for master Conrad, I do so graciously with no regrets", leaving liedia with a uncomfortable smile on her face and Conrad and Claus mouths agape once again.
The Doctors and their assistants long gone after handing the baby over, waited in the lounge for there payment as Conrad was about to go down and pay, Doulos said," don't worry,I got that covered, I've given 1 quarter of my monthly salary from last month, I got it delivered to a maid downstairs to pay them off" ,Conrad was left stumpt before he could retort doulos replied,"as a birthday gift for the boy".
This made claus feel uncomfortably warm as if all eyes were on him that he should have also done something . He Quickly blurted out," I have something too but I thought it inappropriate his too young for that",the maid stared at Claus as he turned his head away clockwise.
The maid carried a bird cage and within layed a messenger bird it could radiate many colors and could duplicate and reassemble itself as a survival mechanic once a clone died or was destroyed the main body would only lose a portion of it's intelligence that would slowly heal overtime it's ability to fly for days without rest at long ranges was also why it was turned into such a pricey messenger.
Conrad finished pening the letter and placed it alongside a blue colored sash the colour blue indicating a boys gender pink a girls it was placed by Doulos on the bird,that was then released by Claus as he had argued to play this part,another reason the bird was such a good messenger was when it duplicates anything touching it as long as it has less mass than it,it will be duplicated along side it .
As it duplicated releasing hundreds into the atmosphere the news spread like wild fire to the villagers by a special trumpet blown by Claus after winning a race he had setup with an uncaring Doulos three blows of the trumpet was a boy and two was a girl.
As 3 trumpet blows rang in the air everyone's anticipations had reached a crescendo a huge scream of joy wonder and surprise could be heard throughout the suburban village that was 60 kilometers wide and 70 kilometers in length the biggest village in the province it it had two small rivers surrounding it and one large river moving through it the river breaking into multiple fragments supplying many small lakes and ponds uniting and going around the hill the castle sat atop.
It had 5 great farms that took 1 quarter of the land the village was on. Within the village was a 3 kilometer mining site it supplied a huge deposit of a iron like ore and magic crystals,which were greatly sought out for and it's Quality was exceptional relative to the risk .
The village was a combination of wood lands, surrounded by stone buildings made of white marble bricks, mud bricks,clay with a wooden frame structure .The tallest buildings although small in number were four stories high only surpassed by the grand castle itself and other municipal buildings some areas were surrounded by brick walls with slightly inclined hilly landscapes aswell,the people there enjoyed boating up and down and built many bridges where the waters mixed with suburban areas.
People cheered and celebrated with the finest wine as the night fell and the sky darkened Conrad and liedia observed the light purple moon and the stars in the sky at the highest tower of the castle at its wooden balcony as fireworks lit up the night sky.
Claus and Doulos overlooked them at the second tallest tower with a somber tone Doulos said ,"everything's about to change old friend", Claus replied with a smile and a pat on the back he laughed," ofcourse and we will be there to help them that's a butlers promise after all".
Conrad was in thought and said ,"what about Darian", ledia replied with a smile," I like that name very much".
The baby looked at the moon with leidia on a reclining chair it's eyes and skin felt the atmosphere everything was weird everything felt weird it was truly a whole new world.
