About Ornazia:
Ornazia was not merely a nation - it was a storm given borders. For much of recorded history it stood as one of the most aggressive, ambitious, and unapologetically ruthless powers Eldervale had ever known. At its height, it ruled an empire so vast that even its enemies admitted it seemed less like a state and more like an unstoppable force wearing a crown. Its legacy is written in conquest and carved in fear, remembered most vividly through the infamous campaigns of the Great Imposition (363–380), the Total Overrun (633–665), and the Absoluto Campaigns (827–876). Through these and countless lesser wars, Ornazia swallowed the whole of Western Eldervale and pushed its banners deep into the central realms.
The Ornazian hunger for expansion is ancient - older than many civilizations themselves. Their first recorded campaigns stretch back nearly twenty millennia, to the very dawn of organized society in Eldervale. For almost ten thousand years thereafter, the chronicles describe an almost unbroken tradition of invasion, subjugation, and relentless forward march. Several Ornazian empires endured for centuries at a time, ruling enormous territories with iron discipline and colder resolve. Yet nearly all eventually collapsed - not beneath foreign armies, but under the weight of their own internal rivalries, political fractures, and the inevitable rot that comes to empires convinced of their own eternity.
To those beyond its borders, Ornazia was less a neighbor and more a nightmare made manifest. Tales of its brutality spread far and wide, none more chilling than the custom that came to define its reputation: the beheading of defeated foes, whose severed heads were gathered and fashioned into grim collar-like trophies. Such spectacles were meant to inspire awe within Ornazia - and absolute terror without.
By the tenth century, however, even storms run out of wind. The rise of powerful rival states and the steady militarization of Ornazia's neighbors gradually blunted its once-unstoppable offensives. Chief among its adversaries was Hleidisland, a stubborn and resilient realm that for centuries served as the first target of Ornazian ambition. Many Hleidisian ancestral states fell beneath Ornazian rule, yet none ever truly forgot. As Ornazia weakened, the balance finally tipped. In 1219 it suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Bellatorum - a blow from which its imperial pride never recovered. The nation survived, but the age of expansion was over. Reluctantly, Ornazia traded dreams of conquest for doctrines of defense, reinventing itself as a fortress-state whose borders became nearly impossible to breach.
Even in decline, Ornazia never forgot what it had been. War remained woven into the core of its identity, and the symbol of the flame - representing strength, honor, and unyielding endurance - continued to burn at the heart of its culture. Beneath its northern and western territories lies one of the most unsettling monuments in all Eldervale: a vast subterranean catacomb complex containing millions of skulls, trophies gathered over centuries and carried home as proof of victory. In many chambers, skulls are arranged into circular formations resembling grotesque necklaces, linked together with iron. According to tradition, these belonged to enemy commanders - displayed in death as they never would have bowed in life. Despite outrage and repeated demands for repatriation from other nations, Ornazia has never relinquished a single bone. The catacombs remain open to visitors brave - or foolish - enough to descend into them.
At the heart of the capital stands the Grand Shrine of the Father, one of the oldest and most imposing shrines in the known world. Dedicated to Ornazia's legendary founder and the myths that shaped its identity, the structure dominates the skyline - over 200 meters wide and more than 300 meters tall. Within it rises a colossal 20-meter statue of the founder, carved from black basalt and veined with glowing fractures that burn faintly like embers at night. Reaching the shrine requires climbing a massive, deliberately exhausting stairway meant to humble all who approach. Inside, angled columns and hidden light sources create an atmosphere of solemn dread, as though the building itself is silently judging those who enter.
Though its age of empires has faded into history, Ornazia has never fully accepted defeat. The nation turned its genius for conquest toward engineering and defense, developing advanced materials and technologies admired - and eagerly purchased - across Eldervale. Its fortifications are masterpieces, its industry formidable, and its pride stubbornly intact.
Centuries may have passed since Ornazia last ruled half the continent, but it has never truly abandoned the dream. After the Second Great War of Eldervale, new doctrines and reforms were quietly set in motion, all driven by a single, unchanging hope: that one day the flame of empire will rise again.
Brief modern history:
I. ANNEXATION AND THE GREY FALL MOVEMENT (1219–1255)
Ornazia was forcibly merged with Bellatorum in 1219 following defeat at the Battle of Viriolium—the One People Treaty. For more than thirty years, independence movements failed due to intense suppression.
By 1255, Bellatorum had become weak and corrupted. The Prexa ad Nacion Renovatio Partis (PNRP), led by Aigonzis Panzorium, emerged as the largest separatist group. On 3 September 1255, a large gathering around the Bellatorum administrative building in Viriolium demanded independence. Security forces opened fire—the Grey Fall Movement began.
Within three days, rebels captured their old capital. Bellatorum lost most occupied territories within a month; central authority collapsed two weeks later. Bellatorum declared war but was defeated after more than half a year. Peace treaty signed in 1256: Bellatorum recognized Ornazian sovereignty.
II. THE LAST SIGNAL AND THE CRESCENT LINE WAR (1256–1273)
1256–1263: Bellatorum repeatedly violated the treaty with border raids until resource shortages forced cessation.
1265: Ornazia attempted peaceful relations. Four days after arriving in Bellatorum, Panzorium returned declaring Ornazia would never again seek peace—refusing to explain what transpired.
16 December 1270: A bomb planted beneath Panzorium's car. He survived but was severely injured; two killed. The perpetrator was captured fleeing with a ticket to Bellatorum. Ornazia declared war on Bellatorum on 23 December 1270—the Crescent Line War, beginning the First Great War.
Bellatorum and Acludion formed an alliance; two months later Hleidisland joined.
Initial phase: static deadlock. Hleidisland launched a swift incursion but was halted. Notable engagements: Battle of Seraphion, Battle of Elenoth, Battle of Poltovio, Third Siege of Magna Petronia, Defense of Lirathael, Defense of Solgaris—most inconclusive.
Acludion descended into civil war and withdrew. Ornazia redirected efforts but further advances proved difficult. Most infamous engagement: "Eighty Days at Draumfell" (Hleidisland)—both sides unveiled the newest weaponry.
By third year, all sides were exhausted. Treaty of Caer Dûnath signed 16 July 1273 in neutral Alcludion: pre-war borders restored. Ornazia gained nothing. Panzorium died following complications from acute kidney injury aggravated by the blast years earlier.
III. THE LUCENTIS SQUARE MASSACRE AND THE OIAN COUP (1273–1294)
Post-war: rising poverty, inflation, supply chain collapse. Many cities in ruins; massive refugee crisis. Aigonz Phazuriz assumed leadership, established a temporary emergency administration. After two years, clear signs of recovery. Ornazia never again attempted diplomacy toward former enemies.
1291: Second Great War escalated. Ornazia entered on Acludion's side. Hleidisland attacked from the south; Bellatorum from the north. Significant southern territories fell. Phazuriz's government displayed hesitation and inefficiency.
1292: Operation "Ater Latorium" (18 May)—strategic bombings and sabotage. Partial success. Two counteroffensives (25 and 30 July) regained lost territory but suffered heavy casualties due to poor planning.
1293: Famine struck—government mismanagement. Rations reduced to less than half. Military morale deteriorated; leadership grew irrational and reckless. The 'Distress Period'.
5 July 1294: Ornazia signed Pax of Seraphic. Society remained deeply fractured; unrest intensified.
Lucentis Square Massacre (28 August): Largest public gathering in Ornazian history occupied the capital's central square since 25 August. The government ordered guards to open fire; armored vehicles crushed protesters. Hundreds—perhaps thousands—killed. Bodies cleared within two days; the government transported them to an undisclosed location.
Coup (6 September): Ordo Illuminatum Aigonzis Novarum (OIAN), led by Renoviel Aigonzar Zeraphion, launched a coup. Phazuriz found hiding in basement, having attempted suicide by poison. PNRP abolished; OIAN assumed control. Phazuriz was executed by firing squad after two months—broadcast live across every major media outlet. Final line: "Glory for Ornazia."
IV. THE CALEMNIS LINE AND THE WEEKS OF TERROR (1294–1327)
Under the Pax, Ornazia reopened borders. Diplomatic attempts with Bellatorum and Hleidisland produced official agreements but minimal mutual trust.
1310: Project Calior—defensive fortification system along the entire border. The Calemnis Line: vast underground network, multiple bunker layers, fully automated maintenance, integrated transportation (highway, rail, mag-lev). Permanent subterranean population of engineers, medical staff, soldiers. One of the strongest defensive lines in the world.
1317–1324: New synthetic materials developed—important export.
Weeks of Terror (4–18 May 1327): Series of terrorist attacks by Neo-PNRP faction: bombings, mass shootings, live-broadcast gore, vandalism. Key figures arrested and executed—last remnants of loyalty to the former regime eliminated.
V. THE PRELUDE TO THE THIRD GREAT WAR (1350 onward)
5 August 1350: Renoviel Aigonzar Zeraphion declared deceased after years of liver cancer. Lucien Adrasto Devereu Mourne elected head of state. Under Mourne, material manufacturing advanced, cultural traditions strengthened, continuing until the outbreak of the Third Great War.
Idealology: Obliscarnatura
Forged through centuries of war and conquest, Ornazia hails them as the ultimate unifier, the chosen figure who will usher in prosperity and eternal stability. To Ornazian, unity can only exist through obedience: all others must submit to their vision and their command, and in doing so, be granted peace.
The objective of this ideology is to achieve and preserve absolute unity through deliberate strategy and uncompromising conquest, establishing a permanent order that transcends the inherent instability of fragmented sovereignty. It envisions a final, unassailable peace forged and guaranteed by a singular supreme authority. Its core doctrine holds that unity through force is both legitimate and necessary, asserting that coercive power is the only reliable means to extinguish discord and construct a lasting, indivisible whole. Order is understood to require a clear and absolute chain of command, with ultimate authority vested in a Sovereign-Guardian whose rule legitimizes all law, truth, and governance. The act of unification is regarded as a sacred and foundational event, conferring moral and political legitimacy upon conquest itself. War is justified only when it is total and conclusive, eliminating all future potential for resistance or fragmentation. Strength, security, and prosperity are believed to arise solely from seamless unity, while any dispersion of power is viewed as a fatal weakness.
Humanity, within this worldview, is considered inherently driven by domination and perpetually trapped in cycles of petty conflict, incapable of achieving enduring harmony through voluntary means. Consequently, a force greater than the individual - a conquering will - is deemed necessary to break this cycle, impose order, and grant purpose through submission to a greater and enduring design.
The ideal state is thus defined by a disciplined and expanding apparatus that maintains internal order, assimilates or eradicates external threats, and sustains a militarized society in which citizenship is earned through service and loyalty, with prosperity framed as the inevitable dividend of total and permanent peace.
