The moment the crackling lightning wrapped around Third Generation Onitoru's blade, Kakashi froze in his tracks.
His lone visible eye widened, unable to believe what he was witnessing.
Souji stood there calmly, right hand gripping the sword, while thin strands of Lightning Style chakra danced across the metal like living serpents. The electrical glow painted his young face in pale blue, making his expression look strangely mature… almost dangerous.
"This… this kid…" Kakashi whispered.
Uchiha Souji had only listened to a short explanation—barely a few concepts about lightning formation, chakra vibration frequency, and the basic structure of Chidori.
That should NOT have been enough.
For normal ninjas, even geniuses, Lightning Style chakra shaping takes months, sometimes years, to even initiate. But here Souji was—calmly holding a sword glowing with lightning like it was the easiest thing in the world.
Kakashi felt something twist inside his chest.
This wasn't talent.
This was monstrous.
---
Kakashi: "Are you human or not?"
For several seconds, Kakashi forgot to breathe.
His mind ran in circles, disbelief pounding in his head.
Finally, he managed to force out a sentence.
"Souji… are you really not considering becoming a ninjutsu-type ninja? Because this is—seriously—on a level I've only seen from a handful of people."
Souji coughed lightly and looked away, embarrassed.
It wasn't that he didn't want to be a ninjutsu specialist.
It was that he couldn't.
Not with his current secret.
He couldn't exactly tell Kakashi, "Oh, by the way, sensei, I'm cheating! Onitoru is doing all the work!"
Using Third Generation Onitoru as a catalyst or even a staff for ninjutsu would skyrocket his dependence on the spirit inside it.
And Souji knew better than anyone—depending too much on a single tool was a fatal weakness.
One day, he wanted to fight even without Third Generation Onitoru in hand.
Cheating now was fine, but forever? No chance.
So he shook his head with complete seriousness.
"Don't think about it, Kakashi-sensei."
Kakashi sighed heavily.
This kid really was stubborn.
Still… a part of him respected Souji's decisiveness.
---
Onitoru: "Master, you're blaming the wrong ghost!"
Inside Souji's mind, Third Generation Onitoru was already analyzing the Lightning chakra, controlling the flow through Souji's body.
He wasn't happy about it.
When Souji asked silently, "How long can this level of output last?", Onitoru responded instantly.
"With your tiny chakra pool? Maybe one hour. At most. And that's only because you're young. Your capacity is simply too small."
Souji smirked.
"That's right, it's all your fault."
Onitoru froze.
Onitoru trembled.
Then the sword spirit exploded.
"HOW IS THIS MY FAULT!? You told me to try it! You barely gave me enough information! Are you blaming me for YOUR tiny chakra tank, you ungrateful brat—!?"
Souji ignored the outburst, nodding with philosophical calmness.
"But I'm not petty. I forgive you."
"FOR WHAT!?"
Souji sheathed the sword with a satisfied motion.
"I'll buy you a present when we reach the capital."
Onitoru immediately perked up.
"Oh? A present? A new scabbard? Knife oil? A wife?"
He paused.
"Actually, a wife is fine too. I've been single since I was forged…"
Souji's eyelid twitched.
A knife wanting a wife was something he would never get used to.
"No. I heard the capital has more advanced physics books. I'll buy you some new ones. Since you finished reading all the books in Konoha."
Silence.
A terrifying silence.
Then—
"…Are you truly a human being?"
Onitoru's voice was trembling with pure spiritual despair.
"I believed for one moment… one stupid moment… that I'd finally get a gift. Something normal. Something joyful. But no—YOU DEMON IN HUMAN SKIN!!!"
Lightning on the blade sputtered out instantly.
Onitoru shut himself down.
Complete ghost mental breakdown.
Souji clicked his tongue.
"Tch. Kids these days have no mental endurance. Can't even handle a little responsibility."
---
Kakashi: "This talent… what a waste."
Kakashi rubbed his temples.
"It's truly a shame," he muttered. "If you pursued ninjutsu, you could probably surpass even the Sannin someday."
Souji shrugged casually.
Being a ninjutsu fortress sounded nice, but being an elegant swordsman with cheat powers sounded better.
Besides… he had bigger plans.
Still, Kakashi respected his student's resolve. Just like the Fourth Hokage had once respected his decisions, even when they were wrong.

Arriving at the Capital of the Land of Fire
After days of walking, the scenery finally changed.
The massive walls of the Fire Capital appeared in the distance.
Souji's eyes sparkled.
To him, coming from his past life's modern world, the capital looked primitive.
But it was still beautiful, lively, and full of opportunity.
This was his future retirement land.
Even the air smelled nicer.
There were merchants, performers, samurai, traders, nobles—life in every direction.
He loved it instantly.
"Souji, stay close," Kakashi warned.
"This place is peaceful, but trouble still exists—"
Kakashi didn't get to finish.
A sudden explosion of noise erupted down the street.
---
Chaos at the Bathhouse
CRASH!
BOOM!
SMACK!
Screams echoed through the capital.
"CATCH THAT PEEPING TOM!!!"
"BASTARD! GET BACK HERE!"
"THROW SOMETHING AT HIM!"
Souji blinked.
Then a blur of white hair flashed into view.
A tall man with wild hair, a red kimono, wooden sandals, and a permanent grin.
Jiraiya of the Sannin.
He skidded to a stop in front of Kakashi.
"Oh, Kakashi! Long time no see!" Jiraiya grinned proudly.
"Did you read my latest book? Absolute masterpiece, right? Anyway—I'll meet you over at that tavern later! I'll treat you!"
He pointed at a small izakaya and took off again.
Behind him was a mob of furious women wielding brooms, buckets, sandals, hairpins, and murder in their eyes.
Before Souji even understood what was happening—
BONK!
A washbasin slammed into his head.
One woman pointed at him furiously.
"He talked to that pervert earlier! He must be an accomplice!"
Souji's eye twitched.
YOU are the pervert.
YOUR whole family is the pervert.
He looked at Kakashi.
Kakashi didn't hesitate—he ran after Jiraiya like his life depended on it.
Souji dumped his backpack onto Kakashi's shoulders and chased after him.
No way he was getting beaten for Jiraiya's crimes!
