The cold night air pressed against Diana's skin, sharp and biting as she rose higher through the darkness. The wind whipped her hair, pulling the fabric of her pink tunic back from her body, still carrying the scent of pine and earth from the Carpathian Mountains. The stars shone above like distant promises, cold and indifferent to her plight. The light of the full moon illuminated her as if she were the black shadow of Doomstadt.
She had escaped. In fact, she was escaping from her captor. From Doom.
The Ivanov cabin shrank behind her, a small point of warm light in the vast darkness. Her tearful eyes could see the hot-air balloon with Doom's face drifting lazily in the distance, its massive image of his masked face mocking her from above.
"I need to go to Symkaria. The book said they had tensions with Doom. They might help me."
But even as the thought formed, doubt crept in like a cold shadow.
What if Symkaria was no better?
What if they sent her back to Doom?
Besides, Diana knew they had been his allies; she did not know how both nations stood right now. Tears kept falling from her, dropping below her in mid-flight.
"Then I will go to the United States. I will find the heroes of this world. The ones Larin mentioned to me. I will find Clark's doppelganger, Bruce's, and especially my own. I will find the way home."
The images of her supposed vision returned. Her in Bruce's arms. His desperation to fight Doom. The possible death of the Bat-Family.
She broke again inside. She had to leave such thoughts behind.
Her tears were very similar to those she had shed when Clark died, when Donna died, and when Bruce was supposedly dead.
She closed her tearful eyes and flew faster, her body cutting through the night air like a spear. The wind screamed past her ears, drowning out the sounds of the world below. The mountains receded, their dark silhouettes looming against the starry sky. In the distance, behind the mountains, she could see the lights of a distant city thanks to her enhanced vision. A city on the outskirts of Doomstadt, another city of Doom. There were no walls indicating a border, which is why she reached that conclusion.
"Freedom… I am almost there…"
She looked back, her vision targeting the location of the cabin. She was several kilometers away from the place and from the hot-air balloon. To her surprise, at the starting point of her flight, Victor von Doom stood without making any movement, only crossing his arms.
"That damned man… still mocking me from that distance… without making any move."
She quickly turned her head forward.
"Where is the south?… I will try to manage on my own."
But then she heard it.
A low hum, vibrating through the air like the sound of thousands of metals at once, coming from below.
"What?"
She looked down, but she did not react in time, feeling something wrapping around her right arm. It yanked her backward, pulling her body at great speed and with too much force like a magnet, slamming her against a base.
"What the hell?"
She twisted her body and saw that she was stamped onto the platform supporting the globe. She recognized a metal chain wrapped around her arm. The support had heavy weaponry implemented. Cannons and machine guns beside her, but without firing any attack.
"Damn it." She shouted in frustration, keeping her eyes wet.
She used her strength to break it, but she could not. She tried again. Nothing. Thousands of metals over her arm as if it were a replica of the eighth metal.
"This will not stop me." She clenched her fists harder. Same result. She began to move, but the chain yanked her against the base of the balloon. Diana gasped in frustration and kept trying to break free, exerting more pressure; the chains began to crack. She lamented not having the optical beams of the Kryptonians.
"Come on. Keep going…"
Out of nowhere, another sound of a chain came from in front of her. She turned her gaze and the chain wrapped around her other arm, yanking her forward. She gasped in pain from the pressure of two chains on both of her arms, looking in that direction. Another Doom balloon had positioned itself at a distance with its respective base, summoning another chain. Minutes ago that had not been in that position.
She was in the middle of the long distance that joined both balloons. Rotating her gaze in all directions in the full night, below only the shadows of the Carpathians.
"Damned Doom… I detest you…"
"Diana, return here now." Doom's voice was heard coming from a high-end speaker on the base of the other balloon.
"Never… You go to the same demon. Damned disfigured one." She shouted with the chains pressing on her. Her arms and wrists were beginning to turn red.
"Cooperate, Diana. I am trying to help you."
"You do not help me. You are only a hindrance in my life that I intend to end." She spoke with a half-broken voice.
"You know my warning. I told you. Cooperate."
"Nooo!" She increased her divine strength even more. The two chains began to crack. Her pink tunic began to tear, small rips along the sleeves and arms of the garment.
"Come to me and my balloons will release you. You will never leave Latveria. You are my property. Everything stays here. Return here."
Her lips formed too much pressure. Her teeth ground. Suddenly her attitude changed from broken to brave. The strength of Zeus returned to her veins.
"I am tired of this. Fine! If that is what you want. I will come to you and I will break every piece of your armor. My fists will smile when they feel it. I am tired of your image." She shouted with too much fury as she propelled herself upward from one balloon, completely breaking the two chains that held her arms; the pieces fell into the precipice.
She struck with tremendous force the body of the balloon that displayed the face Diana hated most. The balloon burst as if a four-year-old child had done it.
"What are you doing?"
"What you so desire. I am coming to you. You will regret it now. Hades will wait for you in the underworld."
The base fell toward the mountains, generating a severe explosion.
"You have no idea what you have just done, Diana." Doom ignored Diana's threat.
"I am going to massacre him. I will send him flying somewhere else when the time comes. I will see his pleas for mercy. I will no longer have Doom in my mind. And I will escape in peace." She swore.
She floated to the other balloon, thanks to Hermes's speed, and she burst it with extreme ease; it fell into the abyss with the speaker falling. They were destroyed below her. Doom's synthetic voice destroyed. A part of the mountains burned with fire.
"Hestia! I am going for him. My warrior spirit. My knuckles will see his blood spilled over them."
She was propelling herself to return to where Doom was. Out of nowhere, from the corner of her eye, the mountains below her seemed to change. From the ground, hidden among the rocks and trees, ten enormous cannons rose from hidden compartments, glowing with a faint and threatening light, around her position. Exceeding the speed of sound, a cold and cosmic energy that gave her goosebumps went straight at her.
"By the gods!" Her mind screamed.
The first explosion struck her before she could react.
The cosmic energy crashed against her body like a physical blow, hot and burning against her skin. She gasped. The pain was intense, searing through her muscles, but she clenched her teeth.
"Damn it!" She shouted, her voice raw with defiance. "This will not stop me!"
Another attack came. This time she was ready. She twisted in the air, managing to dodge it, but another attack from behind struck her.
And another cosmic attack struck her in the side.
She screamed in pain; these attacks surpassed her Amazonian strength. How could Doom counter her strength? Her vision blurred for a moment. Her clothing was well torn and dirty.
She was weakening. She could feel her strength draining again, her body struggling to maintain altitude.
Eight synchronized attacks struck her simultaneously. The cosmic explosions were not only painful: they were undermining her energy, draining her Amazonian vitality.
"I cannot stop. I cannot give up. I have to go kill him." She kept resisting.
A second simultaneous attack struck her. The impact made her fall through the air, her body spinning out of control. She could taste blood in her mouth, metallic and bitter. More rips in her tunic. Her Amazonian strength weakened further.
The third reached her.
Then the fourth impacted her.
Her body was losing stability in the air. Her eyes began to close thanks to the pain and weakness.
"I have to get out of here…"
The fourth-fifth struck her, and this time she felt herself falling downward in slow motion, the ground rushing toward her. She extended her hand upward, her fingers grasping empty air, searching for something, anything, to hold onto because of her loss of strength. Tears fell with her. The fire from the destruction of the balloon bases awaited her just like the peaks of the mountains.
"Bruce… I am sorry. Steve… I am sorry. For failing you… Mother…"
A fifth attack struck her and the night sky darkened completely over her.
///
The noise of the motor similar to that of an airplane formed near the ears of Diana Prince, which did not let her be in her state of unconsciousness. Slowly, her eyes opened. She turned her face around the place where she was. She was sitting in a technological boat: an elegant and futuristic boat with short smooth metallic walls and no roof. The cold air brushing her nose. The interior was cold, sterile and designed for function rather than comfort.
In front of her, a few meters away, a familiar yellow armor shone in the dim light. Zora Vukovic was standing looking forward, giving her back to Diana. Her ponytail swayed slightly backward as she adjusted the boat's controls. The loyal one to Doom did not look at her.
"Sleeping Beauty has awakened, Zora."
She heard the voice, that voice, low and resonant, coming from her right. That she hated with all her soul. Victor von Doom.
Diana turned her head slowly, her neck protesting the movement. The ruler was by her side, his arms crossed, his masked face turned toward the window. He did not look at her. His posture was relaxed, almost dismissive.
She looked to her left. Resting her face on the edge of the boat, she could see Doomstadt below, its lights flickering as the city settled into the tranquility of the night. It meant she was in a flying boat or ship.
"Damn it." Diana's voice came out as a weak whisper.
Doom said nothing. He did not even acknowledge her words.
She tried to stand up, to push herself up from the seat. But her hands and legs were tied to the chair with metallic handcuffs: cold, inflexible and humming like a weak energy field.
"Do not even think about escaping, amazon. I will speak with you seriously. You will regret having defied me." Doom's calm and measured voice cut through her efforts.
Her instincts screamed danger for what was to come.
She tried to ignore the words of the disfigured man, but she could not. She clenched her fists, straining against the cuffs. Her muscles burned, but the restraints held firm.
Then, Diana felt a tremor through her body, a weakness that was not her own. She was strong. She was Wonder Woman. But now, she was weak. She was captive. She was submissive to Doom.
"Damn I was close.... I was close to getting out..." Diana wanted to cry again. She could not carry the mantle of Wonder Woman right now. She was weak as most of her enemies had said.
"I cannot believe I lost... another defeat in my life... I did not make it..."
The thought made her stomach churn. She saw that her pink tunic was as before. Clean. Without any scratches. Wax evidence of her escape attempt.
"I need my family.... I need my mother. I need Antiope, Nubia, Donna, Cassie, Yara. I need Bruce.... I need Steve.... Clark.... Zee... Barry... Hal... J'onn... Kara... Lois... Dinah... I failed them"
The names echoed in her mind like prayers, each one a reminder of what she had lost.
She missed them. Her loved ones. She believed that the future would never see them again. She could not say goodbye to them. The damned Doom would never allow it. To lower her morale even more, she began to miss the confrontations against Silver Swan and her rivalry with her former friend and archenemy Barbara Minerva aka Cheetah. Or worse, that Circe would turn her into anything to humiliate her more.
She lost. She lost.
Unwillingly, her weakened gaze returned below, the boat was ascending the mountain toward Castle Doom. Next, she could visualize the winding path she had traveled with Doom a few days before, the path he had claimed was the only path to the castle.
But now, from the other side, she could see a new clear and straight path that led directly to one of the castle's several gates. She had not noticed it.
"He lied to me. He made me ride horseback with him, he made me cling to him."
The realization made her blood boil.
"You, damned bastard who cannot belong to the world of men."
She saw them, dozens of Doombots, their metallic forms of different designs and sizes shining in the moonlight. They formed up, waiting for their master's return.
The flying boat landed softly on the large open gate. Zora opened the small door. She got out of the ship without saying a word, waiting for her and her master.
Doom pressed a button on the side of the ship. The handcuffs around Diana's wrists and ankles came loose with a soft click.
She freed herself, but her body felt heavy, her limbs weak. The cosmic explosions had taken their toll. She tried to stand up, but dizziness flooded her, and she staggered.
"Come on, amazon." Doom's voice was cold.
She tried to walk, but her legs gave way beneath her. She stumbled, catching herself on the edge of the ship.
"Help her, Victorious." He ordered.
"Yes, your highness." Zora nodded with her outstretched hand.
The reddish-brown haired woman grabbed Diana's arm. The Amazon staggered, trying to break free from Zora's grip.
"Diana, do not defy me again!" Doom's voice rang out, sharp and commanding.
With what little strength she had left, Diana allowed Zora to lead the way, taking her out of the ship while the doombots watched both women. Doom got out of the ship, leaving his robots in charge of said vessel. The woman in yellow armor guided her through the entrance, crossing it. Then the castle corridors, her loyal one's grip firm but not painful. The castle doors closed behind Diana accompanied by the footsteps of her captor echoing in the silence.
"Zora guide her to the next room."
The trio arrived in an empty room: a vast chamber with stone walls, flickering torches and paintings of Latverian history adorning the walls. There was no furniture, no windows, no escape.
"Leave her here." Doom's voice was flat.
Zora released Diana's hand, stepping back. She shot Diana a barely concealed look of disdain.
"Leave us alone."
Victorious nodded, her jaw tight. She cast one last look at Diana, holding contempt and warning in equal measure, before leaving the room. Doom with a button on his wrist closed all entrances to the room.
Diana was alone, her body weak, her mind and body staggering. She looked around the room, searching for any possible escape. There was none.
She was alone, again with him.
"Damn..." She growled in her conscience.
Diana tried to find him with her unsteady gaze, her own expression full of contempt and reluctance. She refused to look away. She refused to show fear. Doom looked at her with something she could not detail, anger or perhaps disappointment.
Three minutes of silence passed. Then two. No movement from either.
Diana's heart pounded in her chest. She felt that something worse was coming.
Then, Doom moved in her direction. He crossed the distance between them in an instant, his armored form slamming her against the stone wall, cracking it. The impact expelled the breath from her lungs, sending a shock of pain through her body. The fabric of her pink tunic leaning forward.
She gasped, her hands flying instinctively. But she was too weak. She could not push him away. Her eyes were about to fall into a deep sleep.
Doom's metallic fingers tightened on her jaw, his grip firm and unyielding. He forced her face upward, forcing her to meet his gaze.
She looked into his eyes: brown, fierce and burning with cold fury. He was not the father figure who had cradled a baby or the patient ruler who had shown her Latveria. This was Doom. The tyrant. The captor. The man who would not tolerate defiance.
"What did you try to do, Diana?" His voice was low, controlled, but edged with threat.
Diana deepened her gaze at him, for a moment, she saw something else in the man's irises, something that reminded her of Trigon. The same ancient, predatory look. The same unyielding will.
She could not speak. She could barely breathe.
"Speak, amazon. There is no one to save you from this." Doom's grip tightened, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.
Diana's lips tried, but no words came. Her mind raced, searching for an answer, a challenge, anything. But she remained weak, exhausted and trapped.
Silence flooded them both like a wire pulled taut. Doom's grip on Diana's jaw still held firm, his brown eyes boring into hers with an intensity that made her skin prickle. She could feel the cold metal of his gauntlet against her skin, the unyielding pressure of his body pinning her to the wall.
"I hate you..." She cursed him again in a whisper, breaking the silence.
"Stop repeating it. Doom is not convinced." Doom's mask tilted slightly, a note of dark amusement creeping into his voice.
His grip tightened, only slightly. Diana's mind raced, her thoughts a whirlwind of fear and fury. Her conscience screamed at her to fight, to resist.
"I am going to kill you... You must be dead." She spoke in a low voice.
"You are right, but I will return. Death is beneath Doom. I will find a way out toward you." Doom's gaze did not waver. Deep down, he knew that he was dying slowly, with no escape, no remedies to avoid it. Not wanting to give the Amazon the reason. A draft of existence is something he is willing to accept.
Diana began to tremble more from his statements. Very cold. Calculating. It made her stomach churn more.
"He is defying everything I believe in. Everything my gods represent. I cannot let him win." She blinked.
"Doom has been patient with you. He has given you comfort, the necessary freedom within my limits, exposure to honest people. He has not locked you in one of my dungeons nor tortured you physically." Doom's voice continued, almost imperceptibly. "If Doom were a common criminal, like those you have faced in your world, you would be chained, underground, without light and without hope. Doom is different."
"You force me to stay here! You do not give me true freedom! I am bound to you because of your fault!" Diana's voice trembled with rage.
"Freedom is an American idea that you only chose to believe." Doom's voice remained calm. "Doom does not force. Doom provides. You are here because it is necessary. The future of Latveria depends on it. Because you are necessary for my people. Mirela, Andrei and Luka need you."
She opened her mouth to argue, but the words did not come. It was true.
"You saw the truth before your eyes. There is no brainwashing of mine. I have done nothing to them. All my loyal ones praise me because I have saved them. They accepted my ideals. You have evidence of my achievements. You cannot refute it, even if your inner self wants to." The ruler continued. "You accepted the truth as such. If you had done the opposite, you would have verified what I would do to you. You would not like to witness it."
He was right. She had seen the beauty of Latveria. She had discovered his achievements thanks to him and Mirela. She had felt a reluctant admiration for what he had built.
"He speaks truths... I cannot confront him... Athena help me..."
Her frustration boiled over.
"Damn..." She whispered.
She began to hit him slowly, with her fists on his metallic body. Doom felt nothing, not releasing her. She continued with the action. Her blows did not hurt him.
Then, she tried to knee him with her left leg in his lower body, an attempt to break free. But Doom's hand caught her knee in the air, his grip firm and unyielding on her almost exposed thigh, the fabric of her garment arching backward. Her leg hung awkwardly, bent in the air behind him.
She pushed harder, but Doom's body moved closer. She felt the warmth of his armor against her body, the strange intimacy of the position.
"Good try, but Doom has no weaknesses. Keep that in mind." Doom's voice was low, almost a purr.
She felt it, her body beginning to betray her. She felt the familiar heat spreading through her core, the unwanted arousal she had come to associate with him. She looked into his brown eyes, firm and not pink. He was not using his trick.
"Why is this happening?" She questioned herself.
"You are a liar. The matter of your future heir was just a pretext to marry me, to force me to do it. You let me believe... you do not let me decide... That is a crime." Diana's voice came out as a desperate whisper.
"I am sorry I did not tell you in detail. You must understand that marriage and children go hand in hand. Mortals see them as a game. Doom sees it differently. Marriage provides stability. Children bring legacy. Divorce is a failure that Doom would never allow himself. He does not fail." Doom's voice was calm, almost instructive.
"He is explaining marriage to me as if I were a child who does not understand." Diana's mind raced.
"Damn it..... Ahh!" She whispered and moaned at the same time. The fingers of Doom's other hand touched her exposed thigh, tracing slow and precise massages.
"First attraction, then interest, knowledge, security and finally agreement, these are the foundations of a successful union. Doom meets all the requirements, all in one. Through the universe, multiverse and omniverse." His hand traced her cheek, gentle and possessive.
Diana felt drawn to his words. His logic was clear. Almost seductive. She hated herself for listening.
His hand slid higher, trying to go further inside the lower hem of her tunic. His touch was light, barely there, but it sent a jolt of electricity through her body.
"No please... Ohh!" Diana's mind was lost in his touch.
"Diana, why did you try to escape?" Doom's voice became soft and tender. He intensified his touch more.
"Please. Stop." She said in a low voice.
"Then, explain it to me and I will stop."
She gasped slightly, the heat of his touch spreading through her. Now his touch on her jaw was beginning to arouse her. She breathed deeply to forget it.
"Just to get away from you, monster.... I miss my loved ones.... I miss... my family."
"Wrong answer." Doom's fingers under her pink tunic traced her almost exposed thong.
"Ahh! By the gods." She let out a true moan, a sound of victory for Doom.
"Forget them. You have no family there. I will give you a real one." Doom's hardened voice continued.
The touches on her were possessive. Tears returned to her eyes, not of sadness, but of frustration. Of anger. Of helplessness.
"This is not me. I am not so weak. I am the princess of Themyscira. The daughter of Hippolyta."
Tears fell down her cheeks. Doom wiped them away with his fingers.
"Do not cry, dearling. Doom wants you strong. Tell me the truth. I want to know the reason for your sadness when I entered the main room of the lads. The panic attack that made you flee from me." Doom's voice was low and sweet in his own way. "I do not think Mirela said something hurtful to you. I will not get upset with you."
Diana remained silent. She could not speak. She could not find the words.
The memory of Steve, the breakup, his rejection of her desire to have children. The mental image of her escape running into Bruce's arms. Everything came flooding back, without order and unwanted.
"Oh.. ohh" His metallic hands continued rubbing her raised thigh.
"Tell me... I will understand." Doom dropped into a soft whisper in her ear.
If he knew about Steve, her breakup with him. Doom would find a way to hurt him. She was sure of it.
"No...." She said, despite her arousal and trembling.
Doom's grip on her knee was released, pulling her roughly down, her sandal slipping off her foot. His hand moved, slowly, deliberately, to a place she did not want it to go again, inside her thong. His fingers slid under her dress, being inside her thong. The lower hem of the tunic was raised upward, showing his hand covering her intimate part.
"No... Ngh...."
She tried to push him away, her hands pressing against his armored chest. But he was unyielding. His hand made necessary movements to arouse her more.
"No.... Mnh!" She gasped. The heat was unbearable, consuming her. "Do not do it..."
"Shhh! everything will be fine, Diana. Tell me what bothered you." Doom's tender voice present in her ear.
"Mnh.. Mnh..." She shook her head, her breath coming in irregular gasps.
Doom's fingers stopped their action, remaining inside her underwear. The heat of her pussy pleased him.
"Doom cares about you, dearling. Tell me what happened? Did you have a memory?" Doom's voice was a low murmur near her ear.
"No." Diana shook her head, tears welling more in her eyes, but the fingers of her captor's other hand made the effort to wipe them away.
"I will not get upset with you. I will understand you." His soft voice urged.
Diana's mind was a battlefield. Images of Steve and Bruce, all swirling together in a chaotic storm. Then, Doom's mask appeared, destroying their images.
"He is breaking me again. I hate him".
Then. Victor von Doom spoke
"Could it be that you remembered the day when your ex, the blonde pilot broke up with you? What is his name? Steve" Doom's voice whispered near her ear.
Diana froze. Her soul stopped. Her eyes opened.
"He knows about him. Steve.... He knows that.... Damn it.... Mirela..."
"Mirela told you." The princess of Themyscira's voice was a whisper, full of betrayal.
"Do not blame the lass. She was scared when you left and accidentally let the information slip to Andrei. Did you remember the day of your misfortune, dear? She did not tell me the details. I did not force her." Doom's voice was calm.
"Damn it. You have her under your control. They are all your scapegoats." Diana complained, the heat of his touch making it hard to think.
"What did I tell you before, Diana. You do not catch anything. They are not. They are honest people. You verified it. They are my faithful because they respect me." Doom's voice was imposing.
Diana remained silent, her body betraying her even as her mind screamed for resistance.
"Tell me the details of your breakup with him, dear. He is a scoundrel for leaving you. Tell me the reason." Doom's voice dropped to a whisper.
"Never." She murmured, trying to pull his hand stuck to her intimate part away.
"Then I think I would be satisfied if I paid him a visit and he explained to me personally the true reason for your breakup with him. Steve would love to share it with me..." Doom's fingers continued their work, his voice soft and insistent.
Suddenly, Doom felt a sharp pain in his arm, the one that was inside her underwear. He glanced down. Diana's hand had found his wrist, her nails digging into the small space between his gauntlet and his armor.
"Bastard. I will kill you if you hurt him." She stared at him, her eyes full of murderous fury.
"Defending your ex-partner. Doom feels hurt because he still attracts you. You are weak." Doom's voice was almost wounded.
"I am not. I will hurt you if you say that again." Diana's voice was a low growl.
Doom caressed her intimate part again, trying to draw out her internal fluids.
"Mnnnn....!" She moaned treacherously, closing her eyes.
"You are weak, Diana. That is why you are here. You did not tickle me during our fight."
"Mnn... That is a lie.... I had you on the ropes." Diana's jaw tightened, keeping her eyes closed.
"You still are. That is why I brought you here. I want the strong woman you are, not a woman who still carries the weight of past rejections." Doom's voice was patient.
"You are playing with my mind. You planted those memories to weaken me." Diana's voice trembled with anger, but her eyes were on the excitement that von Doom offered her.
"I was not there when you remembered that. Doom wants you strong. You always have been, but you cannot live with those thoughts forever." Doom's gaze was firm.
Diana fell silent. His words were too close to the truth.
"You are Wonder Woman, after all. Doom wants a woman who is emotionally strong. If you want to be that, share it with me." Doom's voice softened.
He was right in a way. She had never sought help for her psychological pain. Dinah had offered that to her, but she was too proud to refuse it. Love has always been her weakness.
"Then tell me the reason. I will listen carefully." Doom's voice was a whisper near her left ear, increasing his movements on her pussy, his metallic fingers and her thong stained with her vaginal fluids.
"Oh! Hera"
She opened her eyes.
"No. I know you well. You will... You will hurt him" Diana's voice was barely audible.
Doom waited, his hand still resting against her most intimate place, his gaze fixed on her.
"Doom is a man of his word. If you tell me what was the reason for leaving you, I will not pay him a visit." Doom's voice was calm, almost soothing. Wiping more tears from her beautiful face.
"Never!" Diana screamed.
"Tell me, dear." Doom insisted.
Diana tried to push his hand outward again, but Doom pressed harder, his touch both possessive and demanding. The heat spread through her body, making it difficult to think and resist.
"Get away from me." She begged, her voice excited. "Your hands away from me."
"Tell me, dearling or Steve will suffer." Doom's voice became cold and dangerous again.
"No!" Diana screamed, her voice raw with anguish.
Doom's hand that was inside her thong moved upward, wiping along the way with the fabric of her pink tunic. Now, both hands were on her face, his palms on her face and neck. His touch was surprisingly soft, almost romantic.
"Diana, tell me everything. I will not attack Steve nor do anything to Bruce Wayne. Unless I discover that you were deceived by them. Doom hates unfaithful men." Doom's voice was a low murmur.
"If he knew about Bruce and Selina..." She remembered.
She knew that Bruce had told her the truth that he had kissed Catwoman during their time together. He had not slept with Selina during their relationship. They had only shared kisses. That had hurt Diana and because of that, they ended, but they remained friends, maintaining their professionalism between them. She did not know if that was a deception or not. She doubted. Bruce had told her that he and Selina had slept together in his early days as Batman, long before them.
But on the other hand, she discovered after her separation from both that he had a son with the demon's daughter. It was Damian Wayne, Robin. Talia al Ghul had hidden from Bruce that they both had a son for several years. It was difficult for him and technically for Diana. Sometimes, she wanted to beat one of the leaders of the league of assassins to death.
"Tell me." Doom's voice was soft and insistent.
He stroked her hair, his touch reminding her of Steve and Bruce. The familiarity broke something inside her. She cried harder, moaning softly as his fingers traced patterns on her scalp.
"Tell me... Di." Doom repeated, his voice soft.
She trembled at his nickname for her that her friends used. "Di" Now said by Doom. The same that Steve and Bruce used. Her mind was falling more.
"Di... dearling... I will understand you."
After several minutes of denial. She was vulnerable.
"I want Wonder Woman to tell me everything. You, Diana Prince are Wonder Woman. I want you strong." Doom's voice was encouraging now.
Diana continued crying, still aroused. Her body was betraying her in a way she could not control.
"Tell me... tell me. Di" Doom repeated frequently.
She began to break down even more, her defenses crumbling like sand.
"Tell me." Doom's voice was a whisper.
Diana's eyes opened. The dam broke.
"Steve! He left me because he was not sure about being a father! It terrified him!" She began to cry and scream, her voice raw with pain.
Doom did not expect her to cling to him as if he were the only man who could console her, the only support in a world that had turned against her. She buried her face in his armored chest, sobbing uncontrollably.
Doom remained still and cold for several seconds. Then, the ruler's arms wrapped around her, pulling her close.
"Doom hears you, honey. Slowly.... There are no tricks here." His voice was softer than it had been.
He grabbed her waist, holding her firmly. Diana continued crying, her words tumbling out in a rush.
"He told me he was terrified because he thought our enemies would come for our possible child. I tried to change his mind, but he did not listen to me. He was afraid that any child we had would be attacked." She screamed.
"That thought is weak. The man is consumed by the ideals of damned mortals, Diana." Doom's voice was a whisper near her ear, hugging her close.
"He gave me a valid argument, when I told him that my allies' baby died at the hands of an enemy, he was terrified and anxious, denying me that we could start a family. He said he could not bear that pain." Diana continued, her voice trembling.
"A pathetic excuse. That man lacks courage. He must have hidden something from you. Doom is the opposite of him." Doom's voice was cold and dismissive.
Diana began to connect the dots. Doom was offering her something that Steve never had: protection. Certainty. A future.
"I will offer our child protection, something that bastard did not do. I will do it, Diana. Just stay by Doom's side." Victor's voice was promising, his hands remaining on her waist.
Diana looked at him differently. Tears still streaked her cheeks, but her eyes held a new emotion, something between gratitude and surrender.
"You do not need him, Di. I will give you whatever you want, children and a family." Doom's metallic hands wiped away all her tears, his touch soft. "Just stay here."
Diana's mind went blank. The words came out before she could stop them. She lost what she was before. Doom had subdued her. She looked deeply into his eyes inside his mask.
"Thank you..." She let out.
She leaned forward, her lips pressing against his. The kiss was soft, tentative and almost innocent, not cold at all. It was the second kiss they had shared. But beneath it, there was a desperation, a need for comfort and belonging.
"Thank you... Lord Doom." She whispered and did not let go of him. She remained glued to him, hugging him.
Diana returned to the kiss. Doom's hands remained on her waist, firm and possessive. He did not pull her away. He did not deepen the kiss. He simply allowed her to cling to him, to find what she needed in his arms.
"Oh! Aphrodite" She moaned mentally.
Diana was lost. Doom claimed her forever. The night consumed them both in that empty room.
