Chapter 189 - Chapter 187: The Abyss's Intervention

In response to Lumine's words, Yuuko merely waved his hand, offering no reply.

After all, he had seen memories condensing into human form before.

During the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual, what he had to deal with was a group of entities formed from the memories of Ley Line defilement.

As Yuuko gave no answer, Lumine was tactful, lowering her head slightly: "My apologies."

Then, she looked at the appearing phantom and softly said, "Tell me what the next trial is."

The phantom showed a fearful expression and tremblingly said,

"Why are the brave ones of later generations all so fierce…"

After speaking, the phantom let out a soft sigh:

"Sorry, I was a bit nervous. My name is Aru, and before the Kingdom of the Night migrated as a whole, I was called Argos. Now, I am probably just a remnant shadow formed from past memories, but there's no need to worry; I will guide you to the trial."

"Since you are here, does that mean you have found the gohei item and used it to open the Sunstone Narukami's barrier?"

"That's right." Lumine did not deny it.

Hearing this, the phantom named Aru observed Yuuko and Lumine a few more times.

After confirming that there were no issues with the two, he continued:

"Then, your next trial, both of you, is to restore the [Rebirth gohei]."

Aru didn't care if they understood and began to explain endlessly:

"The [Rebirth gohei] is a national treasure of the Kingdom of the Night, used to open the entrance for the remnants of the netherworld. Its manufacturing materials are the same as the Sunstone Narukami."

"So next, you need to find three fragments to activate it."

"These three fragments are located in The Narrows, Evernight Temple, and Serpent Heart Land, respectively."

"Then, I wish you luck, brave ones of later generations."

Aru bowed slightly to Yuuko and Lumine, then slowly disappeared.

It seemed that the next places to go were The Narrows, Evernight Temple, and Serpent Heart Land, as Aru had mentioned.

However, Yuuko didn't know where these three places were... "He disappeared without properly explaining where those three places are…"

At this moment, Lumine smiled and explained:

"The three places he mentioned are actually three islands within Enkanomiya. Each island has a trial set up, and we just need to go there to activate the trials."

"I see." Yuuko nodded slightly, then said in surprise:

"Miss Lumine really knows a lot. I even feel like Miss Lumine is a citizen of the Kingdom of the Night."

In response, Lumine shook her head: "No, I just did enough research beforehand."

After speaking, she looked towards the exit and said, "Then let's go, Yellow Fox."

Yuuko nodded.

Then, the two planned to leave the Sunstone Narukami and head to those three islands for the so-called trials.

However, just as the two stepped out of the Sunstone Narukami's building, the surrounding air suddenly became scorching hot.

And above them, a huge fireball suddenly smashed down!

Yuuko and Lumine reacted quickly, taking a small step back to dodge the fireball.

The fireball directly hit the ground, erupting in dazzling flames before slowly dissipating.

After dodging the fireball, Lumine drew her gold and silver longsword again, vigilantly looking around and coldly saying,

"Who's there?"

As her voice fell, space slowly tore open in front of the two.

And from within, several tall figures slowly emerged.

These figures all had human forms, wore light armor, and had a sun-like mold hanging on their backs.

Strange masks covered the faces of these figures.

Their attire, aside from differing colors, was also uniform.

The one at the very front was entirely the color of flames, while the two behind him were light blue.

Looking at those figures, Yuuko frowned slightly.

Because he clearly felt an aura similar to that of Rifthounds from those figures... In other words, these figures probably came from the Abyss... However, Yuuko was still quite surprised that the Abyss actually had humanoid creatures... At this moment, the red figure standing at the very front spoke with a laugh:

"Hahahaha, I was originally racking my brain over how to open the trial, but I really thank you two for paving the way!"

Lumine frowned: "So you've been following us all along, hoping to reap the benefits?"

The red figure spread his hands:

"After all, we can't open the trial ourselves, so we can only rely on people like you to do it."

After speaking, the red figure elegantly introduced himself:

"I almost forgot to introduce myself; my apologies. My name is Enjou, a squad leader in the Abyssal Order's elite forces, and I am the one taking over your trial."

Hearing this, a cold glint flashed in Lumine's eyes, and she said coldly, "Do you think I'll obediently hand over the opportunity for the trial to you?"

Enjou sneered: "That's not up to you."

With that, a considerable number of flaming runes surged from Enjou's body.

A battle was about to erupt.

Seeing this, Lumine retreated slightly, moving to Yuuko's side, and whispered:

"Those three are Abyssal Bards from the Abyssal Order. Manipulating Elemental Power is their strong suit. They can usually wield Elemental Power far beyond ordinary people, so they are not easy to deal with."

"Yellow Fox, I don't want to give the trial opportunity to the Abyss. Please lend me a hand."

Yuuko nodded slightly, pondered for a moment, then said:

"Then, shall I leave that guy Enjou to Miss Lumine, and the two grunts behind Enjou to me?"

Lumine hesitated for a moment before nodding: "Then I'll leave it to you, Yellow Fox."

As her voice fell, Lumine charged towards Enjou with her gold and silver sword.

Enjou, meanwhile, retreated while ordering the two light-blue Abyssal Bards behind him:

"You two deal with The Person Wearing the Yellow Fox Mask!"

The two light-blue Abyssal Bards responded: "Yes, Lord Enjou!"

Thus, the battlefield was instantly split into two.

Lumine and Enjou battled at the corner of the plaza.

And Yuuko, on the other hand, faced the two Hydro Abyssal Bards alone.

The two Hydro Abyssal Bards showed good teamwork, immediately forming a encirclement around Yuuko and coldly stating:

"I advise you to surrender obediently. Lord Enjou doesn't actually want to fight in this place. If you insist on fighting, don't blame us for being merciless."

In response, Yuuko said: "Stop talking nonsense; if you're coming, then come quickly."

In fact, Yuuko was eager for this battle.

After all, this was a rare opportunity to gather information about the Abyss.

He would cripple these two Hydro Abyssal Bards later, then capture that arrogant fellow named Enjou alive.

Perhaps he could interrogate a lot of information.

Information had always been the most urgent thing Yuuko needed.
