The school bell rang.
"Alright, class, today we are going to learn some trigonometry."
The maths teacher was a middle-aged woman with heavy makeup, trying to hide her aging face.
She looked average; there was nothing worth mentioning about her.
Adrian was in that class with Mr. Clown sitting beside him on a chair.
Adrian was on the last bench in the corner of the classroom, just beside the window.
The teacher had started the trigonometry topic. Adrian was sixteen years old and was in tenth grade.
Trigonometry was a very infamous chapter in class 10th. Adrian had heard a lot about it. He was also very scared of having to learn this and answer its questions, especially after seeing them in the lower grades.
But now?
He just read one book and remembered everything. He practiced some questions and got them all right!
The main reason was that he had become an Aura user. One of the two inner realms of Aura—the world of consciousness and subconsciousness—had also been formed in his mind.
He can comprehend almost any knowledge that he reads with focus from now on. His memory capacity, recalling power, and cognitive abilities have all increased. It made him feel like he was looking at a clear river flowing freely, which he could see into clearly and gaze at whatever was inside.
"From now on, no exams will worry me."
He still has to practice questions, but that is all. He will never forget anything in his life and will be able to recall it whenever he wants.
Obviously, if he tried to comprehend some knowledge above his rank or too much all at once, his world of consciousness and subconsciousness might even explode.
Right now, the classroom seemed very ordinary and normal.
Students were sitting in their seats, listening to the teacher and writing notes.
Adrian, too, seemed to be listening and writing notes.
However, in reality, he was writing the book titled "The Legends of the Nine Meditation Masters."
Mr. Clown was sitting beside him, but he couldn't be seen by anyone.
The reason was simple. He had used his Fooling Aura to affect everyone and those who would come into the class and make their minds not register Mr. Clown and see Adrian studying.
Even if Adrian were to be asked a question, this "Adrian" would stand up and answer the questions that the teacher asked perfectly.
Adrian was flipping the pages of the thick book with a red cover and silently reading while Mr. Clown either stared outside the window or at the blackboard on which the teacher was teaching.
His gaze shifted to a young girl who was sitting at the first desk of the third row of the class, toward the door.
Her hair was dark blue, and her eyes were light pink. Her face was very cute with big eyes, and she was focused on writing notes and listening to the lesson, nodding many times.
Mr. Clown's brows furrowed as he looked back at Adrian from her, then back to her.
"This girl is a distraction to him."
This girl's name was Marie, and she was Adrian's only friend in the entire school.
A girl and a boy being friends?
Mr. Clown knew that this girl had a crush on Adrian. Adrian might be oblivious or thinking to himself that no way someone would love him, which he does.
Mr. Clown can tell from a glance at her face.
He was an Aura user of the Deceiver Pathway. They can naturally read people's feelings and intentions through their speech and body language.
Marie always acts cutely and openly in front of Adrian, and acts shy sometimes.
How did she get to know him? Why did she like him? Mr. Clown didn't bother with it.
What he was worried about was them getting into a relationship.
You might think, so what if they got into a relationship?
The problems were many:
Adrian's time is being split to spend time and go out with her. The troubles in the relationship will come one day due to Adrian being an Aura user. Suspicion will form one day, and it will be hard to dodge her questions. She might be targeted and used to extort them. If they were to break up, Adrian's mental state would go bad, which may make him lose control.
When Mr. Clown realized this problem, he immediately thought of killing her or removing her memories, but he quickly forgot these plans.
She was Adrian's only friend. If he were to kill her, how long till Adrian finds out? Won't his mental state get messed up? Won't he come to kill Mr. Clown?
Adrian's future was bright and was full of light. Mr. Clown was on a simple mission. As long as he can protect and make Adrian grow, his mission will be fulfilled.
Adrian kept turning the pages and then closed the book.
He looked at Mr. Clown and said, "The first nine Meditation Masters were truly legends. I understand why they are considered so highly now. I also got a lot more knowledge on the families of Lumenia."
"Oh, is that so? Why don't you tell me some things about them? It will help you learn," Mr. Clown plainly said.
"Ok, let me try. The first Meditation Master of Lumenia was born on a war-stricken planet. There were fights everywhere, and it was hard to live. On that planet, he had to fight, kill, and even eat people to survive. He was very angry about this and wanted to get off this planet. He wanted to rest. Once, when he was about to die, his Aura awakened, and he killed every single person in the latter years."
"He had called his home planet 'Hell' every time he had mentioned it. Thus, his biggest ambition in his life was to create a 'Heaven' and thus established Lumenia. Before that, however, he traveled the universe and slowly met all the other future Meditation Masters. They all journeyed together all around the universe, experiencing the myriad wonders that the world holds."
"Slowly, they grew stronger and advanced their ranks as they helped each other. They were like a family and went through fortune and disaster together. Finally, after the Dystopian War was about to start, the first Meditation Master made the decision and established Lumenia in a once-barren planet that is now known as… Lumenia in the Auralis Solar System. Hehe."
"By this time, all the suns and moons were at True Supernova rank. With their influence and strength, they collected all the strongest Aura users and made a huge force, signifying the start of the history of the huge force. This force was the one that fought against the two other regions' gods and utopians, protecting their people and sacrificing themselves."
"After the war ended, they all returned alive, using their remaining life to develop Lumenia and took their respective turns to be in control of Lumenia. Slowly, they all died, but after their deaths, Lumenia stayed strong and firmly held its ground as the greatest of the three great bodies at that time. Every generation frequently produces a True Supernova who becomes the new Meditation Master of Lumenia. Another fact I noticed is that, after the first nine died, at max only two True Supernovas barely lived until only one was left."
"And by now, there have been 107 Meditation Masters."
Mr. Clown's eyes were on the floor; they were closed as his hands were folded on his chest. He nodded quickly at Adrian's analysis and summarization and praised him: "Truly brilliant, Adrian. To think that it hadn't been that much time since you became an Aura user, but you have already started to understand the basic knowledge and summarized it very greatly."
Hearing so much praise, Adrian's cheeks burned pink as he scratched the back of his head, smiling.
"Hehe, it is nothing much. Anyone smarter than a monkey can do this. But it was indeed much easier and faster to think now than ever before. Being an Aura user is great."
He then looked at Mr. Clown with doubts hidden in his eyes. "I have some questions, though."
"What are they? Ask away."
"I have two main questions. First, I have noticed that there is not much information given in this book about the other eight Meditation Masters, except for the first one. Why is that?"
Adrian's eyes were big and confused; they flashed with a light of confusion. His face gave others the feeling to teach him.
"This kid has the potential to be a great actor," Mr. Clown thought as he started to explain.
"That is nothing out of the ordinary. Out of the first nine Meditation Masters, only the first one had left his autobiography; the others never bothered to make one. The information, stories, and legends that you are reading in this book are a collection of all the details that have been stored in the ancient scriptures, urban legends, rumors, and contents about them from the autobiography of the first one."
Adrian nodded his head. "Is that so?... Why did they not leave one of theirs, too?"
"I don't know."
Mr. Clown plainly said.
Adrian: "…"
"Anyway, my second question is that there are many legends and stories about them in this book, but there has never been any mention of their name, appearance, and Aura. They are just addressed as the first Meditation Master, the second one, and so on like this. Why?"
Mr. Clown heaved a deep sigh and said, "Is that so? Well, it is normal too. Information about the first nine Meditation Masters has been hidden away by the families that they established long ago. It was actually the decision of the Meditation Masters not to leak any information on them for some reasons. That is why there is no mention of their name, appearance, or Aura, but people have observed and know the appearance and Aura abilities and the surnames of their lineage that is still going on, and have made their own guesses."
"For example, some say that the second Meditation Master had blonde hair and purple eyes, while some say the opposite, and it is the same for every Meditation Master till the ninth. They are truly clouded in mystery."
"I am just a lowly Auri Nova with no connection to any of these royal families. I know about their secrets as much as you do. Sigh."
Mr. Clown said the last line in a self-deprecating manner as he sighed.
"I have heard a lot about these families? What are they even?"
"These families are basically the descendants of the past Supernovas and True Supernovas of the ones who fought in the Dystopian War. After the war ended, they all collectively established thirty royal families and divided the territory among themselves in the Auralis Solar System. Till now, they have maintained the solar system and implemented their control."
"The first Meditation Master's surname was most likely Blackbell, and he established the Blackbell family, which at the current time is the strongest family out of all the thirty families,s and going by the current trends, they will continue to be the strongest for a loooong time."
Mr. Clown's head went back as he dragged the word "long." He was even about to fall, making Adrian go to catch him when he suddenly got back up and pounced his head on Adrian's, but stopped just a few inches and screamed, "Booh!"
"Ahhh!"
Mr. Clown pointed his finger at him and started to laugh heartily.
Adrian screamed as he fell back on his bench.
He was naturally angry, but he wanted to curb his curiosity first. He got back up and asked.
"Why are they going to be the strongest family for a long time?"
His brows were furrowed, and his eyes were heated; he had a very serious expression. Seeing this, Mr. Clown gradually stopped laughing and said, "You must have heard about Sasaki Alberich, right?"
Adrian's brows relaxed as he had a confused expression on his face. "Yes. I do. What about him?"
"You may think that he is from the Alberich family, which he indeed is. He ran away, and Adrian chased after him as they started a chase around the entire school.
