Chapter 221: I Have a Secret Weapon
"Squeak, squeak!" Little Five was jumping and bouncing around with a potato chip in its mouth.
Beside it, Little Seven appeared behind Jenny, waiting for her orders at any moment.
"Uncle Matthew definitely won't let me wander around," Jenny said gloomily, hugging a nearby teddy bear.
Upon hearing this, Little Five immediately deflated.
"But I can follow him secretly!" Jenny's smile returned.
"Squeak, squeak!" Little Five immediately became excited again; its stomach was empty, and it wanted to eat.
Jenny hugged her bear tight and turned around. "Little Seven, please."
"Roar!" Little Seven roared in response to Jenny's words and then opened the Shadow Kingdom.
Seeing the Shadow Kingdom open, Jenny quickly ran inside, with Little Five following closely behind.
Clinton Police Headquarters
Rat-tat-tat-tat! Rat-tat-tat-tat! A fierce gunfight was taking place here.
"What are these monsters? Why can't we hit them!" Just as the policeman finished speaking, a Squid Ninja wrapped its arms around his neck and lifted him high until he suffocated. Only then was his body tossed to the ground.
"You dare put a warrant out for me?" Kezli, acting as a Shadow General, was hiding within the Shadow Kingdom on his way to the police station.
The darkness in Kezli's heart continued to expand, and he soon mastered another ability of a Shadow General: Shadow Kingdom Traversal.
"Where are Lieutenant John and Lieutenant Mike!" the Commissioner, hiding under a desk while being shielded by subordinates, roared angrily.
"They just happened to be out on a mission today," a subordinate said.
The Commissioner was about to curse when a sudden black tentacle grabbed his subordinate and dragged him out.
"Where did Spider-Man go! Isn't he the one best at jumping around!" The Commissioner was being driven mad by the Squid Ninjas; bullets simply didn't work against these monsters.
Kezli had already seen the Police Commissioner's location, but he simply didn't go to catch him. He was waiting for John and the others to appear.
"Commissioner, what should we do?" Another subordinate ran to the Commissioner's side and asked, having run out of bullets.
"How should I know!" The Commissioner was also completely baffled. The enemy had come so suddenly that they didn't even have a basic plan.
Soon, the police in the station were completely cleared out, leaving only a few helpless officers and the Commissioner.
"Nice to meet you all. Please take care of me on our first meeting." Kezli finally stepped out of the Shadow Kingdom, revealing his face.
"The Cannibal, Kezli?" one policeman said.
"What Cannibal?" The Commissioner hadn't paid any attention to this criminal newcomer; his main energy was focused on notorious criminals.
Kezli tilted his head slightly, and a Squid Ninja extended a tentacle, grabbed the Commissioner's feet, and hung him upside down in mid-air.
"Ah!" the Commissioner yelled from mid-air.
"Now, high-and-mighty Commissioner, do you recognize me?" Kezli looked up at the Commissioner, smiling.
"Good kid, you're the first one who's dared to treat me like this." The Commissioner swore that if the Kezli in front of him were caught, he would make his life worse than death.
"The first?" Kezli scoffed and said, "Then shouldn't I be very proud? After all, I'm the first person to hang the Police Commissioner up."
"But you will also be a criminal who walked into a trap!" After Kezli finished speaking, a heavy voice rang out, and a red blind cane swung toward Kezli's head.
Kezli didn't even look back. He stabilized his lower body and used his waist to bend backward slightly; the blind cane swiped past his face, only a centimeter away.
After dodging the cane, Kezli quickly jumped to the other side and turned around. "Is this the famous Daredevil? You don't look like anything special."
"I wouldn't say 'famous.' I'm just an over-eager good guy," Matthew said, retracting his cane.
Upon receiving the news of Kezli's raid on the police station, Matthew had rushed over without stopping. Unexpectedly, upon arrival, he "saw" through sound the image of the Police Commissioner being hung up; honestly, he found it quite satisfying.
"Over-eager? Heh." A trace of danger emanated from Kezli's eyes as he said, "Good guys don't live long!"
A Squid Ninja rushed toward Daredevil, its tentacles stretching like rubber toward him.
Matthew's ears twitched. Sensing the incoming attack, he quickly jumped away and struck back with his cane. However, he didn't expect the cane to pass right through the Squid Ninja's stomach. When Matthew wanted to pull it back, the cane was stuck inside the ninja's body.
"This trick works every single time," Kezli laughed. The Squid Ninja's phasing was indeed useful, specifically countering those using weapons.
"Dammit." Matthew had no choice but to let go of the cane and toss the other end to the ninja, who pulled the entire thing into its stomach.
Outside
"This Daredevil doesn't seem to be of much use," John said, holding binoculars.
"It's just that the black monster is too terrifying. Nothing can damage it, and everything gets swallowed," Mike sighed.
He had contacted Daredevil through his connections. According to his informant, there was a way to reach him, so Mike had the informant bring him here. Now it seemed Daredevil was just here to throw his life away.
"No, we have to go help, Captain." John couldn't wait any longer; if they didn't go now, Daredevil would likely be KO'd.
"You go first. I'm going to get a secret weapon," Mike said, patting John's shoulder.
John was surprised. "Captain, you still have a secret weapon?"
"Yes. You and Daredevil hold out for about ten minutes. I'll be right back." After saying that, Mike rode off on his motorcycle.
"As expected of the Captain," John remarked as he watched Mike's departing figure.
"I'm coming, Daredevil!" Coming back to his senses, John ran toward the police station.
Inside the Police Station
Snap! Snap! Snap!
The Squid Ninja's tentacles were constantly snapping at Daredevil. Having lost his cane, Matthew was like a man who had lost his arms, only able to dodge clumsily. Matthew truly had no choice; he tried to punch a Squid Ninja, but his fist still passed through its body.
"It's like being hit by a whip." Matthew felt his stinging back. Just now, in a moment of inattention, he was whipped by a ninja and almost knocked unconscious.
"Daredevil, don't jump around like a rat! Come and fight my Shadow Ninjas fair and square, haha!" Kezli shouted arrogantly.
Kezli had never felt this good. The man Clinton called Daredevil was being whipped by him like a dog.
"Look here!" John kicked the Squid Ninja holding the Commissioner. The ninja didn't have time to phase and was kicked flying.
John quickly extended both arms and caught the Commissioner as he fell from mid-air.
"Well done, Lieutenant John! I will definitely give you a promotion!" the Commissioner yelled while lying in John's arms. He was finally down; if he hadn't come down soon, he would have died from a brain hemorrhage.
