Chapter 225: Object from the Heavens

"As for my Shadow Corps, it's just those Shadow Ninjas and a few big guys," Silas bluffed. He had to provide an explanation for the Shadow-Eater Ninjas, otherwise, Peter would easily connect them to Jenny's.

"Then... what were those other creatures?" Peter had seen a white tiger in the Shadow Kingdom, as well as a giant creature resembling a mantis.

Especially that mantis—it was encased in mecha armor and looked incredibly cool. It was just a bit fierce and wouldn't let Peter touch it. In contrast, the white tiger was gentler; whenever Peter had free time, he would go and pet the big cat.

Silas handed a piece of grilled meat to Peter and said, "I created those myself by combining modern technology with power. Compared to the other Shadow Generals, I've also learned something extra."

"What is it?" Peter's interest was piqued.

"Magic," Silas answered. "I inherited an ancient magic book containing various spells and materials, including magic related to creating living beings."

"Like a European alchemist? Cool~" Peter felt as if a new window had been opened for him. "So, can you use a wand to conjure things like a wizard? Or ride a broom like a witch? Oh wait, you're a guy, so not a witch. Oh no~ in the eyes of you wizards, are we ordinary people all Muggles? Or is it that... wizards have actually been all around us this whole time, but..."

"Wait! Peter, you're saying way too much at once." Silas rubbed his temples, feeling a bit of a headache. Peter's mouth was like a machine gun, rat-tat-tat-tat, never stopping until his head felt like it was going to explode.

"Oh, sorry. I just have a lot of curiosity," Peter said, quickly covering his mouth after seeing Silas's reaction. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to stop himself from talking again.

Silas finally breathed a sigh of relief once it was quiet. Being the brother of the Marvel world's most famous chatterbox was certainly a challenge.

"Please, Peter, don't watch too many movies. Magic is just like this." Silas glanced over at Ben and May, and seeing they were preoccupied with their conversation, he leaned in closer to Peter.

He pulled a talisman from the Shadow Kingdom and said, "Flame, come~"

Whoosh!

A small flame began to burn on the talisman, its light reflecting on Peter's face.

"So cool! But why don't you use a magic wand?" Peter couldn't help but ask.

"There are many kinds of magic. I know magic that uses wands too, but it's not easy to demonstrate here." Silas looked over at Uncle Ben. Peter nodded; it would indeed be a problem if Uncle Ben and the others found out.

"When we get home, can you show me?" Peter blinked at Silas with expectant eyes.

"I refuse." Silas felt like Peter was treating him like a circus act. If I just show you whenever you want, wouldn't that make me lose face?

"Okay~" Peter dejectedly drew circles on the ground with his finger. He just wanted to see more of Silas's endless variety of magic.

"I'll show you something else when there's a chance," Silas said, unable to withstand Peter's pouty, staring eyes.

Hearing this, Peter finally broke into a smile. "Silas, let me take a photo of you."

"No, your photos are too ugly," Silas refused expressionless. Peter's mood swings were incredible—depressed one second and smiling the next.

"Don't worry, I'm Peter Parker, a professional photographer!" Peter happily picked up his camera.

A large hand suddenly snatched the camera away. "I'm the real photography expert. Come on, Peter, let Uncle Ben teach you how to take an exquisite photo."

It was Ben Parker. Hearing Peter's shout, he had immediately walked over, eager to prove himself again.

"Uncle Ben, so cool!" Peter didn't expect Uncle Ben to know photography. Truly an all-around expert.

"Of course. Back in my day, I was the talk of the campus because of my photography skills," Ben began his bluffing. The innocent Peter was once again fooled.

"Sigh~ innocent... too innocent." Silas watched from the side, speechless. Peter was truly Peter—so easy to trick. But in reality, it was mostly due to Peter's absolute trust in his family.

For the next while, they all gathered around the campfire and sang loudly. It wasn't until ten o'clock that they entered their respective tents to sleep. Since they only brought two tents to save space in the car, Uncle Ben and Aunt May shared one, while the Parker brothers shared the other.

"Whew~ Silas, how long has it been since we slept in the same bed?" In Peter's memory, they hadn't slept together since they were thirteen.

"About three or four years? I don't remember clearly." Silas hadn't paid much attention to it, so he didn't have a deep impression.

"Silas," Peter said, looking at the top of the tent. "To be honest, since gaining these extraordinary powers, I still feel like I'm dreaming. It's just that this dream has been a bit long." Peter felt like his old self—the Peter who was given petty nicknames by Flash Thompson—was only yesterday.

"But that's just how it is. I also feel like I'm in a dream, and perhaps mine is even deeper and longer than yours." Before he transmigrated, Silas could never have believed all of this was real.

"Are you talking about your Shadow Corps?" Peter smiled. He thought Silas was just feeling the same uncertainty he felt after gaining his powers. Little did he know, Silas was thinking about his transmigration and wondering how his family from his previous life was doing.

Fortunately, Silas had a younger brother in his past life who could take care of his parents. Otherwise, he couldn't bear to imagine them growing old alone without any children.

"Go to sleep, Peter. Staying up late is bad for you," Silas said.

Peter rolled his eyes. "Please, Silas, don't you stay up late all the time? You know it's bad for you, yet you still do it."

"So what? Different people have different constitutions," Silas joked. Strictly speaking, both he and Peter had Spider-Man's physique. Once the noble Horse and Dog talismans arrived, Silas could truly do whatever he wanted.

"Fine, sleeping. Goodnight, Silas." Peter still had a stomach full of words, but he was afraid Silas would find him annoying.

Silas nodded. "Goodnight, Peter."

In the sky, the bright moon hung high, surrounded by shining stars that seemed to want to outshine its glow. Suddenly, a fiery red streak of light flashed across the sky, momentarily illuminating the entire heavens. Even the moon and stars seemed to dim in comparison. Then, the streak of light plummeted toward the west.

The moon and stars regained their brilliance. The entire process had happened in a mere instant.
