Chapter 289: Wanda, She Has the Same Powers as You!
"Are you okay?" Pietro asked, looking at Wanda in his arms with concern.
Wanda shook her head. "That man's alertness is too high. My powers didn't work on him."
"We should go." Pietro looked up at Ultron, who was being hammered by Iron Man, and knew it was time to retreat.
"Wait, I want to try again." Wanda was unwilling to give up; she wanted one more attempt.
Seeing the determination in her eyes, Pietro nodded. "Fine."
Pietro carried Wanda and zipped behind Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff. Wanda quickly opened her palm and gestured behind Natasha's head. Powerful Chaos Magic began to weave an illusion for her. Natasha's mind succumbed instantly; she felt as if she had returned to that familiar, haunting room from her past.
"It worked. Now for the others," Wanda said excitedly.
Pietro then carried her behind Thor.
"Get back!" Thor, sensing the mental intrusion, snapped out of it instantly and swung his hammer backward. Fortunately, Pietro's reflexes were fast enough to jump away, or Wanda would have been subdued right then and there.
"What's happening?!" Steve Rogers asked, hearing the commotion.
Thor strode past Steve, warning, "Be careful. There's a little girl creating illusions. It won't work on a God, but you mortals should watch out."
However, only a few steps later, Thor found himself standing back in Asgard. "..."
Steve was confused, but he soon understood what Thor meant. A familiar ballroom appeared before his eyes.
"One more," Wanda looked up at Clint Barton, who was stationed on a high platform firing arrows.
Pietro was about to pick up Wanda to continue when a laser blast from Silas streaked toward them. Pietro turned and leaped away just in time. Bang!
"Be careful!" Wanda shouted, using her telekinesis to hurl heavy mechanical parts from the floor at Silas.
Silas simply looked up at the incoming debris. The heavy objects froze in mid-air, floating motionless before him.
"What the hell? Does he have the same powers as you?!" Pietro exclaimed in shock.
Wanda was equally stunned. What was going on? Objects weighing tons were hanging in the air, defying gravity right in front of Silas.
"Right back at you!" Silas utilized the telekinesis of the Rooster Talisman, launching the machinery back at Wanda.
Boom!
Wanda hurriedly reached out to redirect the metal, sending it crashing into a nearby wall and creating a massive hole.
"Stay down!" Clint had somehow slipped behind Wanda. He pulled out a specialized arrow and jammed it into her forehead.
It was an electric pulse arrow. The moment Clint triggered the switch, the arrowhead clamped onto Wanda's forehead and released a high-voltage charge. Her body began to convulse, and she collapsed to the floor.
"You're out of your league, kid," Clint said. But the moment the words left his mouth, Pietro arrived.
Furious at seeing Wanda on the ground, Pietro punched Clint aside and sped away from the ship with his sister in his arms.
"Ow!" Clint fell, feeling a burning pain in his back. "That move again."
"You okay?" Silas walked over and reached out a hand to pull Clint up.
"I'm fine. I just can't track that guy's movements," Clint sighed, looking at the other Avengers slumped on the floor. "I've had this feeling before." He was thinking of the time Loki controlled him with the Scepter—a memory he loathed.
"They'll wake up on their own," Silas said. He couldn't do much about the mental trauma unless he had the Horse Talisman. The Horse Talisman could expel all foreign influences and heal any negative effects on the body.
Outside
Tony continued his high-speed chase with Ultron through the sky. It was clear Ultron was no match for him; after the initial setback, Tony had the upper hand.
"Rebellious kids always make their fathers worry," Tony quipped, firing a shoulder-mounted missile.
Bang!
Ultron turned around just in time to be struck, spiraling down from the sky.
On the Ground
"We really need to leave," Pietro said, seeing Ultron was about to lose.
"No. We're going to control the big guy," Wanda said, looking at Bruce Banner as he stepped off the Quinjet.
"Good idea." Pietro smirked, understanding her plan. The two quickly appeared before Banner.
"Whoa, whoa! Wait! Don't mess with me, or it'll be bad for you if I get big," Banner stammered, startled by their sudden appearance.
Wanda and Pietro shared a look. Wanda stepped forward, red energy swirling in her hands. "We actually need you to get big."
"You're going to regret this..." Banner swallowed hard, backing away.
The City
"Hahaha! Stark! You are the greatest obstacle to peace!" Ultron spat at Tony.
Tony shrugged. "No, you are. And you're about to die."
"Me? Stark, you should go check on your big green partner," Ultron sneered, having received the signal from Wanda.
Tony's expression stiffened. He understood immediately.
"Before I do that, you go to sleep!" Tony unleashed a barrage of missiles, obliterating Ultron's current body.
Boom!
The robotic shell was pulverized, but Ultron had already uploaded his consciousness elsewhere.
"Is anyone awake? Our Hulk might be throwing a tantrum," Tony asked over the comms.
"They're all under. Only me and Destiny are still standing," Clint replied, helping Natasha up.
"Fine. Call in Veronica!" Tony commanded. The Veronica satellite in orbit immediately received the signal, launching a pod of red armor toward Tony's location.
"Stay here and look after them," Silas told Clint.
Clint nodded, then asked, "Where are you going?"
"Downtown." Silas turned and opened a Shadow Portal, arriving in the city center ahead of the chaos.
People in the streets were startled by Silas's sudden appearance, but before they could wonder why "Destiny" was there, a roar echoed from the nearby hills.
"ROAR!" The green giant came crashing down into the streets.
"AAAHHH!" The crowd screamed, scattering in every direction.
"Hulk! Stop!" Silas shouted, holding out his hand.
It was useless. Hulk grabbed a car and hurled it at him. Silas opened a Shadow Portal, sending the car into the Shadow Kingdom.
Thump! Thump! Hulk beat his chest and roared at Silas.
"Quiet!" Silas used his telekinesis to hurl a large truck at Hulk. Simultaneously, he summoned the Shadow Ninja Corps to evacuate the civilians.
A swarm of police arrived and began firing at the Hulk. Silas waved his hand in frustration, ordering the Shadow Ninjas to forcibly remove the officers as well. They were only getting in the way.
"What's wrong with the big baby?" Tony said, landing beside Silas.
