Chapter 382: Misty vs. Black Cat

Misty heard a sound from the window, like the whistling of the wind.

"Is someone there?"

Misty tilted her head in confusion, then glanced at her computer screen. The display had turned red, and a warning message was flashing incessantly.

"There really is someone." Misty's lips curled into a slight smile. She hadn't expected someone to have the nerve to sneak into her home. She stood up, pushed in her chair, closed her laptop, and stretched her neck as she walked unhurriedly toward the window.

Bang!

Just as she reached the window, before she could play along with the intruder, they launched a direct attack. What caught her eye was a long, slender leg clad in black leather. Misty reacted instantly, grabbing the lunging leg with one hand.

"Black Cat?" Misty smirked playfully after seeing the figure clearly.

"You know me?" Felicia retracted her leg and crouched on the windowsill, puzzled as to why Misty recognized her. Her "Black Cat" alias was only just starting to gain a small reputation in Clinton; even Silas hadn't heard of her codename yet.

"Of course. I've heard a thing or two about the famous thief cat in Hell's Kitchen lately." Misty found it amusing. She had just been researching Felicia's identity, and now Felicia had literally hopped through her window.

"I'm glad you've heard of me. So why haven't you started running yet?" Felicia was surprised by Misty's reaction. A normal person would have turned around to call the police. Anyone who followed the news knew that the Black Cat wasn't just a thief; she was a highly skilled fighter.

"Why should I run?" Misty looked Felicia up and down. The tight black leather suit accentuated every curve of her body, and the low-cut neckline was undeniably seductive. With the white fur trim, the mask, and the silver hair fluttering in the wind, it was no wonder Silas had fallen for her. Even as a woman, Misty had to admit Felicia was incredibly sexy—exactly the type of beauty men found irresistible.

"You're not afraid of me?" Felicia asked, amused. She didn't want Misty to get cocky just because she caught that one kick. Felicia had been holding back to avoid seriously injuring her, but she was still impressed by Misty's reflexes.

"Afraid of you?" Misty raised her fists in front of her chest, assuming a combat stance. She curled her finger in a "come" gesture. "Want to test me?"

"You asked for it," Felicia laughed. No matter what happened next, Misty had been the one to initiate the fight.

"Of course." Misty wanted to see what Felicia was truly made of.

Felicia didn't take Misty seriously at all. "You move first. I don't want people saying I bully little girls."

"Does that mean you're old?" Misty immediately countered.

"You're asking for it!"

Felicia was instantly enraged. No woman likes being called old, especially by a romantic rival! In an instant, Felicia lunged, twisting her waist for a spinning back-kick toward Misty's abdomen. Even though she was angry, she still didn't use her full strength, intending only to teach Misty a small lesson.

"Are you looking down on me?"

Misty found it a bit funny; she could tell at a glance that Felicia was pulling her punch—there was no weight behind it. She nimbly stepped aside to dodge the kick. Felicia, not expecting to miss, lost her center of gravity and leaned forward. Misty capitalized on the momentum, driving her elbow straight into Felicia's chest.

Thud!

The impact caused Felicia's chest to yield softly before bouncing back with a jiggle.

"Hiss~ that hurts~" Felicia took a step back, rubbing the sore spot. Who would have thought Misty actually had some moves? She had been too careless.

"Feels pretty good. No wonder people like it," Misty chuckled. So what if they're a bit bigger? I can hold my own!

"You!" Felicia pointed a finger at Misty in a fit of shy rage, but she couldn't find the words.

"What? It's your own fault for underestimating me," Misty said nonchalantly.

"Fine!" Felicia dropped into a proper fighting stance. "I'm going for real now. Don't cry!"

"Better. I've been waiting." Misty set aside her playful attitude and turned serious. Felicia couldn't have become a famous thief without some real talent.

Felicia blurred as she closed the distance, throwing a straight punch aimed at Misty. Misty raised both arms to block; the sheer force made her arms go numb and sent her stumbling back several steps.

"Again!"

Felicia pressed her advantage, refusing to give Misty a chance to breathe. Misty tilted her head slightly, and Felicia's fist whistled past her ear. As Felicia went to retract her arm, Misty seized the opportunity, grabbing the arm and turning her back to Felicia for an over-the-shoulder throw.

However, Felicia had anticipated this. she wrapped one arm around Misty's neck and drove her knee into the back of Misty's knee. Misty's leg buckled, sending her to the ground. Felicia moved in for a chokehold.

Misty wasn't about to let it end there. She drove the back of her head upward with all her might.

Crack!

Her hard skull slammed into Felicia's chin. The pain was so sharp that a tear reflexively pricked the corner of Felicia's eye. Her grip loosened, and Misty scrambled free. The moment she was clear, Misty unleashed a flurry of straight punches.

Despite the surprise headbutt, Felicia was still a superior athlete. Coupled with the enhancement of her Black Cat suit, her strength far exceeded Misty's. She caught Misty's fists in mid-air and twisted her arms behind her back.

Slam!

Felicia pinned Misty face-down onto her desk. "How about now? Do you give up?"

"You've got some skill~" Misty tried to resist, but any movement sent waves of pain through her shoulder joints. Unless she had significantly more strength or was willing to break her own arm, there was no escaping a lock like this.

However, because Felicia had pinned her to a desk rather than the floor, Misty's legs were still free. She drove her heel back squarely into Felicia's rear.

"You cheated!" Felicia released her, rubbing her throbbing backside. Who kicks someone there?!

"You should be glad you aren't a guy," Misty smiled. If it had been a man, she wouldn't have aimed for the glute.

"Tch~ I still won," Felicia said, crossing her arms.

"Did you?" Misty refused to concede. After all, she had just escaped the hold.

"Shameless!" Felicia attacked again. This time, if she caught Misty, she was going to spank her as hard as she could. Faced with Felicia's relentless, lightning-fast assault, Misty had to concentrate purely on dodging and retreating. The offensive was too fierce; Misty could only wait for a gap to strike back.

"Dammit! All you do is dodge!" Felicia gritted her teeth. Fight me properly! Stop dancing around! Just wait until I catch you.

Crash! Smash! Thud!

Furniture was knocked over and hit the floor as the room filled with the sounds of their struggle.

Downstairs

"What's going on up there?" Hugh asked, looking up from his coffee.

"I don't know. Maybe Misty and Silas broke up and she's smashing things in a rage?!" Lydia imagined the worst and decided she had to go up and stop it.

"Broke up?!" Hugh's eyes lit up. He grabbed Lydia's arm. "Just let her be. She'll feel better once she vents."

"No! What if they really did break up? I have to go talk to her." Lydia understood young love; arguments were normal, but they needed guidance.

"I refuse to let you!" To ensure the breakup was final and Misty stayed away from Silas, Hugh was prepared to risk his life to block Lydia.

"Move," Lydia said, cracking her knuckles.

Hugh swallowed hard. "I..."
