Chapter 390 - Chapter 390: Destiny!

Chapter 390: Destiny!

Rhino beat his chest with both hands; he was itching for a fight with Spider-Man.

Beneath the Ruins

Clatter~

A pebble the size of a palm fell from Peter's shoulder.

"Peter..." Toomes lay on the ground, watching as a figure in red held up the collapsing ruins above them.

"Urgh..."

Peter's face was flushed deep red, and his legs began to tremble. At this moment, he was supporting nearly twenty tons of debris on his shoulders. This weight had long since reached his absolute limit, but his iron will refused to let him give up.

"Get out... now!" Peter gasped, his voice strained to the breaking point.

"You... Peter, don't you have those shadow portals?" Toomes groaned, nursing the sharp pain in his arm as he slowly stood up.

"Stop talking... I can't hold it much longer." Peter wanted to teleport, but he had already returned those powers to Silas.

Toomes looked at Peter with a complicated expression. The propellers on his back flickered, emitting the sound of electrical short-circuits. It seemed his wings were completely trashed unless Mason could repair them.

"Listen, Peter, you're really stupid. I'm your enemy! You shouldn't be saving me." Toomes lingered, making no move to leave.

Click~

Toomes retracted his helmet, sighed, and raised his own hands to help support the ruins above.

"I guess I'm pretty stupid too, huh?" Toomes smiled at Peter. Who would have thought that two enemies would refuse to abandon each other in the end?

"Why, Toomes?" Peter was stunned. Why would Toomes choose to stay? Shouldn't he be taking this chance to run?

"I don't like owing favors!" Toomes pushed upward, but the debris didn't budge an inch. Even with the augmentation of the Vulture suit, his strength was far inferior to Spider-Man's.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Up above, Rhino was stomping frantically on the ruins because he couldn't find Spider-Man. The debris above Peter and Toomes began to sink further. Soon, Peter was forced onto one knee. He was reaching his breaking point.

"Spider-Man! Is this all the strength you have?" Toomes hissed through gritted teeth.

"Of course not!" Peter's arms shook violently. He hadn't hit his limit yet! If he could stop a speeding train, why couldn't he lift these ruins!

"AHHH!" Peter summoned every ounce of strength, his muscles tensing until they were defined like stone.

Toomes could only cheer him on; if possible, he really didn't want to die buried under a pile of rubble.

Above the Ruins

Rhino noticed he was being lifted higher and exclaimed in surprise, "What's going on?!"

"It's Toomes! They're under the ruins!" Schultz (Shocker) shouted as he finally arrived. He had been wondering why his tracker showed he was overlapping with Toomes' position but couldn't see him. They were buried!

"What? Spider-Man is down there?" Rhino became excited. He grabbed Schultz and jumped from the ruins onto the street.

Relieved of the extra weight above, Peter exploded with power.

BOOM!

The ruins were flipped over by Peter's sheer strength, freeing both him and Toomes.

"Finally..." Peter muttered before collapsing weakly to the ground.

"Toomes!" Schultz saw that Toomes was alive and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Hahaha! Spider-Man, I've got you now!" As soon as Rhino saw the hero, he was filled with bloodlust.

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

Rhino charged toward the fallen Spider-Man with heavy steps. He was going to turn him into a pile of minced meat!

"Wait!" Toomes stepped in front of Peter, trying to stop the Rhino. But Rhino wasn't going to stop for anyone.

"Another one? Perfect!" Rhino assumed Toomes was an ally of Spider-Man and decided to kill two birds with one stone.

"Toomes, get out of the way!" Schultz screamed. Having broken Rhino out of prison, he had witnessed the man's power. A thick prison wall had been shattered by a single charge. There was no way Toomes' battered suit could stop him.

CRASH!

Rhino's sharp horn slammed into Toomes' chest, piercing right through the hardened Vulture armor. The impact felt like it shattered Toomes' internal organs. He was sent flying like a cannonball, falling straight to the ground like a broken kite.

"Toomes!" Schultz rushed to his side, propping him up to check his wounds.

"Hmph! Now for you, Spider-Man!" Rhino laughed at the sky. Finally, he would finish him. He lowered his head and charged at the unconscious Peter like a gale.

BOOM!

A massive cloud of dust billowed up, obscuring everything.

"Peter..." Toomes muttered, coughing blood as Schultz carried him. He looked toward Spider-Man's direction, feeling a sense of defeat. He had tried his best, but the boy was doomed.

By now, the police had arrived, guns leveled at the settling dust.

"Something's wrong. Toomes, we have to leave," Schultz urged as more sirens approached.

"No..." Toomes shook his head. "You go."

"Why?!"

"I'm hurt too badly. I won't make it far." Toomes had given up on running. Without immediate hospital care, he wouldn't survive. If he fled, every hospital would be watched by the police. Private doctors were too expensive. But mostly, he was tired of running.

"Schultz, do me a favor." Toomes managed a weak smile. "Take care of Liz for me."

Schultz was silent for a moment, then nodded firmly. "Of course. I will." With that, he laid Toomes gently on the ground and ran without looking back.

Watching his old friend disappear, Toomes felt his eyelids grow heavy and slowly closed his eyes.

As the dust settled, Rhino's massive form became visible. Spider-Man lay right in front of him, completely unharmed.

A single hand had caught Rhino's sharp horn, stopping the Rhino dead in his tracks.

Dum-dum-dum-dum...

The faint sound of music seemed to drift through the air.

"How can Spider-Man be in such a pathetic state?" Silas Parker smiled at the brother lying behind him. Unfortunately, Peter was unconscious and couldn't respond.

"Who are you?!" Rhino's eyes widened. Someone had stopped his charge with one hand?

"You can call me Destiny!" Silas's right hand surged with power. Grabbing the horn, he swung the massive Rhino and threw him through the air.

KABOOM!!!

Rhino slammed into the street like a falling meteor, creating a massive crater.

Stopping the Rhino was no small feat; his strength truly surpassed Peter's. Rhino was one of the few enemies whose raw power exceeded Spider-Man's—reaching up to seventy-five tons, triple Peter's normal limit.

Silas had used the Ox Talisman combined with telekinetic redirection to catch the charge so effortlessly. Otherwise, even he would have been pushed back a few feet by the momentum.

Thud!
