Once they reached Daniel's place, he swung the gate open and stepped aside, gesturing for her to enter first with a courteous sweep of his hand.
"How sweet," she murmured, a faint smile touching her lips as she glanced around the quiet courtyard.
He closed the gate behind them and led the way up the stairs to his room, his footsteps steady on the worn wooden steps.
*Creakk…*
Daniel opened the door, his eyes slowly widening.
Inside, his room — which had been a mess just yesterday, was now completely cleaned. To his surprise, the single bed had been replaced with a large one, big enough for three people to sleep comfortably.
"Wow," she breathed, her tone soft with genuine surprise. "I never thought I'd say this in my life, but I've never seen a young man like you keep his room this… clean."
