The sky, which had been bright and clear just moments before, changed dramatically. Thick black clouds rolled in from all directions as if summoned by an unseen force, piling on top of each other until they swallowed the sunlight completely.
In the blink of an eye, the entire sky darkened.
It was clearly still daytime, yet the land below was suddenly as dim as late evening.
At the same time, the temperature began to drop.
At first it was only a slight chill in the air, but within seconds the change became obvious. The comfortable summer warmth vanished, replaced by a cold that grew sharper with every passing moment.
Soon the air became biting.
The fierce wind carried that coldness like a blade. When it struck the faces of the surrounding candidates, it felt as if invisible knives were cutting across their skin. Many of them instinctively wrapped their arms around themselves as they shivered.
