Day is heaving, tears collecting in his eyes.
They stare down with Travis, both of them not budging.
"I don't give a fuck about any of that, Day," he says, and Day feels his heart break. " What I do care about, though, is who hurt you. Dared touch my mate, my omega, and make them pay for it."
"If you broke someone's skull for saying hi to me, what are you going to do now? kill them? Is that what is going to happen? Are you going to kill because I was hurt?"
"I," he starts, and makes sure Day is looking at him, "will kill and do worse to anyone who hurts a hair on your head, sweetheart.
"I won't mince my words or try to make you feel better about this when I mean every one of them.
"I will destroy everyone and their families if they dare to touch you or make you cry. I don't give a fuck about any of them, but you."
"That's… that's," Day is shaking his head, backing away, but Travis slowly starts forward, closing the distance.
