She couldn't focus on the shattered sky. She couldn't focus on the holy fire beginning to rain down upon the distant, mortal world.
She could only focus on the everything.
It hit her a second after the Ascension was complete. The mortal filters that had once protected her brain from the true nature of the cosmos were gone, violently burned away by the tether's core.
Suddenly, the world was too loud. Too bright. Too alive.
She could hear the tectonic plates grinding beneath the earth's crust thousands of miles below. She could see the individual, shimmering currents of mana bleeding from the fractured sky, tasting like ozone and bitter copper on her tongue.
