Elara stepped through the massive, arched doors, her bare feet silent against the smooth floor. She was enveloped in one of Li's oversized, white-silk robes, the heavy golden embroidery trailing behind her. It smelled of him—sunlight and ozone—and the lingering warmth of the starlight bath still hummed pleasantly beneath her skin.
Aldren walked close behind her, his hand resting a possessive, grounding weight on the small of her back. Li led the way, his golden eyes sweeping over the vast, glittering expanse.
"No celestial noble has ever set foot in here," Li murmured, his voice echoing softly in the cavernous space. "These are the Genesis Records. The memories of the cosmos before the realms were divided."
