Chapter 2 - Chaotic Warfare

'Gasp!'

Awakening his eyes in a flash, Filure quickly got back up and started coughing up dirt from his mouth while trying to gasp for air through his nose, but dirt was in it too. He frantically tried to force his out by exhaling through his nose, and some dirt came out. He used his hand to clear some dirt from his mouth while his other hand took it out of his nose.

Soon, after a bit of digging out the dirt, he could finally breathe the air; however, he was still breathing heavily and feeling pain in his chest. His chest burned as air forced its way into lungs that felt unused. And the air was hard to breathe in as it hurt his lungs, sweats falls as he began to lie backwards on the grass.

After a few minutes had passed, he could breathe properly and think again. He sighed a relieve.

He muttered to himself.

"What the hell happened to me?"

Filure looks around his surroundings, and he notices that he is in a large forest. The trees towered unnaturally high, their tops swallowed by shadow. Even sitting, the grass brushed against his chest. And as he looked down, he panicked and was surprised.

"What the- where the hell are my clothes?!"

As he looked around the tall grass, he couldn't see anything and searched a bit more, but gave up as it was futile. He sighed to himself, but felt pricks on his back as if something stung him. He turned his back to see what it was, and he noticed it was a few broken branches that were lying behind him. Some of them were still sharp enough to pierce skin.

He picked up the stick branches, and memories came back flooding as he recalled falling from the sky and landing on numerous branches. Branches that are either large and hit his body or crack his bones, and small branches that are sharp enough to pierce his body. He remembered that he fell for quite a long time while his body throbbed in pain, but after landing, he couldn't remember anything else afterwards as his mind went blank.

"Did I go unconscious when I landed? If so, then what happened to my wounds, and how did my bones and body heal? And how did I get dirt in my mouth? And where are my clothes?!?!"

Filure thought to himself with more questions than answers, as there was no way that someone could randomly and coincidentally find his body to treat his wound and leave him there; it'd be illogical.

Before he could continue thinking, a large sound blared in the distance. The sound startled Filure, and it got him out of his thinking head as he wondered what that was.

Not long after the blare, though, to his left, he heard a large explosion as he turned his head and quickly got up and onto his feet, and sweat began to drip down from his head.

As he moved back a bit, he noticed a puff of smoke in the air, but as he moved back a bit more. His body froze. Not in coldness, but rather, fear. The puff of smoke was enormous. Something like that shouldn't even be possible in a forest, yet the puff of smoke from below had an orange hue. Surely, this huge puff of smoke was the aftermath of the explosion that Filure heard just now.

His hand was trembling as he continued to gaze at it; his eyes were wide open. And he for sure didn't know what he had stumbled upon. Soon afterwards, more explosions were heard from a different direction in the forest. It woke Filure's body up, and he turned to gaze in every direction. It was chaotic and unpredictable.

"Just...what the hell is going on now?!"

Filure talked to himself, but shortly afterwards, there was a sound of something loud being shot nearby his location. He turned his head quickly to the sound location, and nothing happened soon afterward.

Before Filure could make a move, more shots were fired, which caused him to get startled and begin seeing some bullet casings flying from the forest tree and onto the tall grass. As bullets continued to be sprayed around the forest, one bullet came out of the other bush, and it hit directly toward his side and caused him to yelp in pain.

As blood oozed out, Filure noticed a rock nearby, and instinctively ran for it in the raining bullets. As he ran, he wasn't lucky enough and got hit with several more bullets. His eye widened as he felt the impact of the bullet hitting him, and it buried itself deep in his side, but with a rush of adrenaline, he pushed forward and sprinted.

He jumped towards the rock and lay his back on the rock, and he reeled in pain, and his body writhed from the scorching bullets. As each minute passed, he coughed out blood, and it dripped down from his mouth and onto his chin like saliva. His mind stirred chaotically, with no visible idea of what he had to do now. All he knew was that he somehow survived and was yet trapped in some sort of warfare.

As time goes on. screams and more sounds of bullets continued. Filure gazes in his direction, where he is facing now, and takes a bit of a peek to see what is happening in the area he was in previously.

As his mind continued to reel and stirred chaotically, suddenly two silhouettes came out from the shadow of the forest and landed on the location where Filure woke up, and Filure peeked from the rock to get a better look at the two individuals who arrived.

As the sun shone on the two silhouettes, Filure's jaws dropped, and he was shocked at the sight. On his left was a tall, muscular man with tanned skin and green stripe tattoos all over his torso. His hair was also weird, as his hairstyle made his hair look like a circle that is long. His hand held a long sword, bigger than him slightly. On the right view, it was a smaller man, likely 5'5 tall, his hair was long and elegant, and it was black. The weapon he held was a curved sword that wasn't a Japanese-style weapon but something else.

However, the most surprising thing about them is that they, too, are both naked. Yet wielding their own weapons. The thought crossed over Filure's mind to what is actually happening in this Forest, and whether he was affected the same as others.

Before anything else, the muscular man immediately yelled as his swing his longsword at the small man in front of him, and it caught Filure off guard, but unable to see what happened next. Despite being too muscular, the swing was fast, and the small man, with great precision, managed to parry it, and the small man retaliated with his weapon.

However, they moved too fast for Filure's naked eye to see, and they thought that they were just teleporting from one place to another with hand in high in the air or low to the ground with their weapons. Despite this, he can hear metal clashing repeatedly.

Filured moved his head back and hid in the rock. He was stuck in an inescapable situation, and he knew that one wrong move could cost him his life. His body shivered from fear, but he tried his best to remind himself to stay calm.

Before he could start thinking of anything, the ground rumbled once more. The rumble caused his body to jerk violently as the rumbling was intense. During the shaking, it caused his body to tighten up, and all of a sudden.

'Crack!'

The ground split apart, which caused Filure to fall into it. He couldn't react; well, he couldn't even move, regardless, as he fell and screamed. The scream, however, made his throat hurt even more, and he coughed up blood once more.

Suddenly, he heard a hissing sound, and as he looked down, a large white gas rose quickly, and from a far distance, he felt heat coming from the bottom, and it clicked into his head immediately. He thought it was gas or steam, but it was greyish.

Filure was hit by the gas, and he rose up from the hole quickly. As he rose, he could feel like his skin was peeling off his body due to how fast he was moving upward, due to the steam. Soon, he could see the light once more and slowly but surely managed to escape the hole.

However, something was off as he continued to rise upward, and slowly, he could no longer see the two men who fought with how large the radius of the gas was. And he could see he was continuously rising rapidly, which caused him to be on guard for a bit as instinct kicked in.

As before, Filure could do something or think of something, Filure could hear a sound of something else approaching rapidly to his location, and before he could look, the sound got here faster than he could see or hear it, and it caused an explosion. And it sends Filure flying from afar.

Due to it being point-blank, Filure received the explosion hit the most, and his body was burned by the explosion effect, and his arm skin was torn off, revealing only flesh and blood as he yelled in pain. The pain was immense, and it felt like his arm could fall off at any moment while his body was being burned and cooking him alive.

To make matters worse, he was falling from a high distance, but due to how fast he was falling, it was a quick long distance. He landed roughly onto the land and, landing on the dirt, was surprisingly alive but in critical condition.

He panted heavily as he eyed the place he landed quickly. As his mind reeled from the chaos he experienced, he wasn't prepared, but each outcome made it more unpredictable. His eye finally landed on something, but his expression changed to fear, and unable to move.

Filure spotted a head, a decapitated head staring back at Filure, eyes widened and mouth open, as if looking into Filure's soul with fear in their eyes too. However, their face was charred and grilled by the flame.

Filure couldn't move, and his other eye noticed his right arm was gone, his burnt flesh arm. And as he attempts to look away, he sees more corpses instead. No matter where he looks, more corpses show up from here and there, close and far. The explosion continued to happen outside the dirt trench. And Filure was stuck.
