Chapter 218 - Chapter 218: Damian: I’m just an entrepreneur owner

Hearing Damian's words, Thundurus's forehead shows three question marks.

But then, Thundurus understands, sneering with anger, who is this boastful human?

Do you know who it is? Thundurus! Legendary Incarnate Forces!!

Yet he's just a human, Thundurus decides to teach this brash human a lesson!

Then...

"Not bad, caught two more Legendary Pokémon again."

Damian looks at the two Ultra Balls in his hand, in a good mood.

Indeed, it wasn't difficult at all. Shadow Mewtwo directly used Psychic to control Thundurus and Therian Forme Tornadus, then controlled them to repeatedly slam into the mountain wall.

As for the Caught stage, a little psychic control is enough to prevent the Poké Ball from breaking out.

The whole process was unusually easy.

Psychic-type Pokémon are incredibly convenient when their strength is overwhelming; psychic is practically万能.

"Wow!! Damian, you're amazing, your Pokémon are so strong!"

Rosa exclaims, running over to Damian, eyes sparkling like stars.

She realizes how formidable Damian really is!

That Kyogre seen at Dragonspiral Tower last time, and Shadow Mewtwo this time; no wonder Reshiram would choose Damian as her Hero of Truth.

If she were Reshiram, she would choose Damian too.

"Haha—Mewtwo really is strong." Damian feels the girl's worship, his mood noticeably lighter.

"Mm-hm—! It feels like with Damian, you could surely beat Alder as well." Rosa nods eagerly.

Hearing that, Elesa's expression turns peculiar. Alder?

It seems Rosa still has little notion of Damian's strength; not to mention Alder, even ten Champion Alders might not be Damian's match…

Just Kyogre alone, what would Alder have?

"I think, with you's ability to Special Training, you'll surely beat Alder by year-end."

Damian smiles quietly, encouraging Rosa.

"Hey—really? I thought so too; this year I'll top the Unova League!"

The bun-girl clenches her tiny fist, filled with fighting spirit.

"You can do it, I believe in you." Damian affirms with a warm smile.

Rosa's smile blooms brilliantly, her eyes curving into crescents.

Caught Incarnate Forme Thundurus and Therian Forme Tornadus, Damian ponders; both Pokémon are quite good.

But Damian isn't particularly interested; he already wields a full main roster; training them isn't impossible, but it's more talk than action.

Besides, he isn't really drawn to their looks.

As for the appearance of Thundurus and Tornadus… it's better not to mention; they'd sit at a table with Tapu Koko and Tapu Bulu.

If it were Zeraora and Diancie, Damian would really train them; Darkrai, Latios and Latias, he'd be willing too, since they're both beautiful and strong.

On the way back, Damian messages Selene.

"Baby, Flying / Electric type or Flying type, pick one?"

"Huh? My main roster is full already, and I've got Dragonite and Articuno as Flying types."

Selene answers quickly,

"Also, darling, why do you always send Flying types to me? Aren't you paying tribute to someone again?"

Selene is puzzled; Damian sending Pokémon to her makes her happy—after all, her boyfriend adores her.

But always Flying types makes her a bit wary.

"Haha—you caught me, baby. Build a Flying-type team and take down Lance."

Damian laughs, thinking: indeed, Dragonite and Articuno both have Flying types.

"???"

Selene sends three question marks.

"If you don't mind choosing one, Galar's Dragon to be a Dragon type main roster and Articuno as an Ice type main roster would work for me; both are good."

"No thanks, that would give me too many Flying types on the team; I want to be the strongest Champion (shades .jpg)."

"Are you sure you don't want it? That's Legendary Pokémon after all."

"No no, haha—I've caught a legendary myself.—(photo)"

Selene sends a photo: she's wearing a flower-straw hat, posing with a silver body-sized Pokémon behind her.

Damian recognizes instantly—it's Mythical Pokémon Melmetal.

"My baby is amazing." Damian replies with a thumbs-up.

"Hehe—of course. And by the way, I've noticed that Tapu Koko now frequently flies between Poni Island and Melemele Island; no idea why."

Selene sends puzzled info; she recalls Tapu Koko only wandered Melemele before.

And lately Tapu Koko's spirit seems off.

"Also, it used to pass over my head only occasionally, but now it appears near me every so often; I suspect it's tailing me."

"I'll catch it someday!!"

Selene is annoyed; if she doesn't have a strong grip yet, she'll have Incineroar deal with Tapu Koko.

"..." Damian's expression turns eerie.

He really suspects Selene's guess is true…

Because Tapu Fini and Tapu Lele have been taken by him and Caitlin, Tapu Koko and Tapu Bulu have more work.

Tapu Koko is already a bit neurotic; with more workload, it's normal to be more jittery.

Damian even suspects Tapu Koko dares tail Selene; Tomorrow, it might even dare to go directly into Selene's Poké Ball and get caught!

Hmm, this is something Tapu Koko might do; it's always had a sharp temper.

Tapu Bulu would cry in the bathroom; in a blink, its three coworkers fled and left it with a kennel to manage four islands.

The sky collapsed, indeed.

After a light chat with Selene, they end the chat.

Back in Eindoak Town, the four of them find a high-end restaurant; Damian orders a grand feast.

"Woohoo—rich guy!"

Rosa cheers at the sight of a full table of luxurious dishes.

"I haven't eaten like this in ages."

Damian grins: "Eat more; if you're still hungry, order more."

Rosa shrugs: "Not because I'm rich, but because during training Pokémon costs money; other expenses aren't much."

"On the road I've actually earned quite a bit too; I like betting pocket money with other Trainers—though many won't bet."

Rosa acts naive; she thinks those Trainers don't have guts, not betting on themselves.

"..." Damian ponders; Selene seems to have a similar habit.

This protagonist's flaw, perhaps? When you have no money, you ask other Trainers for some?

"I still prefer those wealthy Beauties and Ace Trainers; beating them earns a lot of pocket money to buy snacks for Serperior and the others."

Rosa beams.

In truth, journeys aren't too expensive; as a rookie, the Pokémon Center provides meals and lodging.

Mostly she buys clothes; traveling in the wild saves cosmetics money too.

But meals and snacks and special Pokéblocks aren't cheap.

If conditions are better, who wouldn't want their Pokémon to be well taken care of?

"That's not bad," Damian smiles.

"Is your family really rich, Damian?"

Rosa curiously asks; she truly believes Damian's family must be wealthy, given his demeanor.

And Caitlin, that inner elegance, not something ordinary girls have.

"Not too bad. My dad is a Gym Leader in Kanto, but I went out to start my own business, so… I'm an owner?"

Damian contemplates, then says.

"Entrepreneur, huh? You're amazing, Damian~!"

Rosa giggles; after all, he's only a year older than her.

"Haha— Rosa, my company also hires some Trainers as temporary staff; the pay is quite good. Interested in joining?"

"Eh? There's this?"

Rosa freezes.

"Well, when there are tasks during downtime, you can join; there's a base salary if you can't take on tasks."

Damian explains.

"Sounds pretty good." Rosa winks.

"Sometimes there are cross-region tasks; if you have time, the company will reimburse airfare."

Damian smiles; this is a service he's providing to Rosa, Drayton, Lacey, and others as temporary staff.

"There are plenty of temporary staff your age; most are still at Blueberry Academy; how about giving it a try?"

"Sounds great!"

Rosa is intrigued; although she's not asked what the tasks are, she trusts Damian.

Besides, Damian is the Hero of Truth.

Being chosen by the Truth Dragon means he can't be a bad person, right?

Rosa believes in her gut; she doesn't think Damian is a bad guy.
