Chapter 64 - Chapter 64

Chapter 64: The Watson Manor (and very bad decisions)

Jay-Jay POV

So.

Let me just explain how my life went from peaceful dinner to—

sleepover at the Watson Manor with three Watson brothers and zero survival instincts.

Because clearly, I make amazing life choices.

The ride to the manor was… loud.

Keiren was talking non-stop in the backseat, switching topics every three seconds like his life depended on it.

Keiren: "—and then Keigen panicked for no reason—"

Keifer: "You disappeared."

Keiren: "I was exploring."

Keiren: "A BIG mall."

I leaned back in my seat, watching the chaos unfold.

Jay: "So this is what you deal with?"

Keifer sighed.

Keifer: "Every day."

Keiren: "Lies. He loves me."

Keifer: "I tolerate you."

Keiren gasped dramatically.

Keiren: "Jay-Jay, are you hearing this abuse?"

Jay: "I support it."

Keiren: "BETRAYAL."

The Watson Manor?

Yeah.

Not a house.

Not even a mansion.

A statement.

Big gates, long driveway, lights everywhere like it was waiting for a royal entrance.

I stepped out of the car and just—

Jay: "…Okay what the hell."

Keiren grinned.

Keiren: "Welcome to our humble home."

Jay: "If this is humble, I'm broke."

Keifer leaned closer.

Keifer: "You are rich."

Jay: "Exactly. That's the problem."

Dinner was… surprisingly normal.

If you ignore:

• Keiren asking me 47 questions

• Keigen joining halfway and immediately teasing Keifer.

• Me and Keifer bickering like we were back in high school

Keigen: "So this is the Jay-Jay."

Jay: "The one and only."

Keigen: "You know he—"

Keifer: "Finish that sentence and I disown you."

Keiren: "He cried."

Keifer: "YOU'RE BOTH DEAD."

I was trying so hard not to laugh.

Jay: "I'm learning so much today."

Keifer: "Ignore them."

Jay: "Oh no. I'm enjoying this."

Somehow.

Somehow.

I ended up in Keifer's room.

Again.

At this point, it was becoming a pattern.

I stood there, looking around.

Clean. Minimal. Dark colors.

Very… him.

Jay: "You're very organized."

Keifer: "Unlike someone."

Jay: "Excuse me—"

Keifer: "Take a shower."

Jay: "What?"

Keifer: "You heard me."

Jay: "No."

Keifer: "Jay."

Jay: "Keifer."

We stared at each other like it was a battle.

Keifer crossed his arms.

Keifer: "You're not sleeping in my bed without showering."

Jay: "I'm clean!"

Keifer: "You were at a mall. With Keiren."

Jay: "…okay fair."

He pointed to the bathroom.

Keifer: "Go."

Jay: "Bossy."

Keifer: "Move."

Jay: "Rude."

Keifer: "Jay."

Jay: "FINE."

I came out a while later, hair damp, towel-dried, wearing one of his shirts again because apparently that's just my life now.

I sat on the edge of the bed, drying my hair.

Then—

Bathroom door opened.

And—

Oh.

Oh.

That was a mistake.

Keifer walked out.

Hair wet.

Water still on his skin.

No shirt.

I blinked.

Once.

Twice.

My brain: gone.

Jay: "…Wow."

He smirked.

Keifer: "See something you like?"

Jay: "Put a shirt on."

Keifer: "No."

Jay: "Keifer."

Keifer: "Jay."

Jay: "I'm serious."

Keifer: "So am I."

He walked closer.

Way too close.

Keifer: "Where's my goodnight kiss?"

Jay: "Absolutely not."

Keifer: "Why?"

Jay: "Because I said so."

Keifer: "Weak argument."

Jay: "Strong enough."

He tilted his head slightly, eyes soft but definitely plotting something.

Keifer: "Just one."

Jay: "No."

Keifer: "Jay."

Jay: "Keifer."

A pause.

Then—

He leaned in.

Slow.

Giving me time to move away.

I didn't.

…which was my first mistake.

His lips brushed mine, soft at first.

Like he was asking.

Not taking.

And for a second—

I forgot how to breathe.

Jay: "…Keifer—"

He pulled back just slightly.

Keifer: "Tell me to stop."

I didn't.

Second mistake.

His hand moved to my waist, pulling me closer as the kiss deepened—still gentle, but no longer hesitant.

Like he'd been waiting.

For this.

For me.

My fingers curled into his shirt—well, lack of shirt—

Jay: "You're unfair."

Keifer: "I know."

He smiled against my lips.

Then his lips brushed my jaw—

Slow.

Teasing.

Before trailing down just slightly to my neck—

Not too much.

Just enough to make my breath hitch.

Jay: "Keifer…"

Keifer: "Hmm?"

Jay: "We should—"

Keifer: "Stop?"

…pause.

Jay: "…maybe."

Another pause.

Keifer leaned back just enough to look at me.

Really look.

Keifer: "Do you want to?"

And there it was.

Not teasing.

Not joking.

Just—

Real.
