Wolvin walked toward the scattered corpses to carry out the task given by his husband.
One by one, the bodies he touched, starting with the corpses of Thomas's wife and children, instantly vanished, entering the dimensional storage necklace hanging around his neck.
Near Wolvin, Calian continued to accompany him in silence. Wherever his spouse stepped, the purple-haired youth was always close by.
However, seeing Wolvin having to repeatedly crouch down, focus his mana, and then stand back up to move to the next corpse, a twinge of guilt crept into Calian's heart. His power might be able to manipulate time and halt the world, but in fundamental matters that required mana to use magic tools, he was utterly powerless.
"Forgive me, Wolvin." Calian said, breaking the silence, his tone heavy with regret. "If only I had mana flowing through my body, I would not let you work alone and repeatedly crouch and stand like this just to collect all these corpses."
Right after the body of one of the soldiers was stored into his necklace, Wolvin let out a soft sigh and stood up. He turned his body and looked at his husband's face.
"What are you talking about, Darling? I already know you and your condition very well." Wolvin replied casually, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow. He did not mind the task in the slightest. "Besides, between the two of us, I am the only one who can use mana. It is already my duty to help you. So, just leave the matter of cleaning up these corpses to me."
"But—"
"Oh... come on, Darling!" Wolvin cut in firmly, not wanting to let his husband drown in feelings of uselessness. He placed his hands on his hips, looking at Calian with a serious face. "Rather than wasting our precious time just babbling and putting yourself down like that, you had better use that physical strength of yours to help me."
Wolvin pointed at several soldiers' corpses lying quite a distance away from where they stood.
"Help me gather those corpses and drag them closer to me. That way, I can store them all much faster without needing to walk back and forth. How about that?"
What Wolvin had just said to him instantly left Calian stunned for a moment before he quickly nodded in agreement. He immediately walked toward the other corpses to help ease Wolvin's task.
The scraping sound of armor and fabric dragged across the grass became the only melody accompanying their teamwork for the rest of the night.
Calian dragged the lifeless bodies one by one and placed them right near Wolvin's feet until not a single corpse was left lying far from his spouse's position.
Thanks to Calian's help in gathering the lifeless bodies to one spot, Wolvin was able to store all the corpses into his dimensional storage necklace much faster.
Now, the spacious backyard of the mansion was completely clear of the piles of corpses, although it still left bloodstains in several places.
"Done!" Wolvin muttered in relief, then turned to his husband. "Darling, come on, let's get on the wagon right away! We are running out of time!"
"Yeah, Wolvin, let's get out of here!" Calian replied firmly. However, as they began to walk toward the parked wagon, Calian remembered one thing. "But, do you still remember the route heading to Eralio's house in the middle of this city?"
Hearing that question, Wolvin smiled confidently.
"You don't need to worry about such a trivial matter. All my senses are very sharp, you know. I have memorized every turn, scent, and building in this city. I assure you, we will arrive there in a flash without the fear of getting lost."
Without waiting for his husband's reply, and seeing the dawn in the eastern horizon becoming clearer, Wolvin immediately reached out and pulled Calian's hand, forcing him to walk at a half-run toward the wagon.
Calian, whose hand was pulled tightly, spontaneously smiled faintly and followed his spouse's footsteps.
Upon arriving at the slave transport wagon, Wolvin immediately climbed up and sat in the driver's seat at the front, taking over and holding the reins of the two draft horses. Meanwhile, Calian climbed into the back and sat inside the wagon's cabin, right next to the little child's body of the alchemist.
"Darling, we will leave this place right now!" Wolvin said from the front of the wagon. "We will head to Mr. Eralio's residence!"
"Yes, Wolvin! I leave the control of this wagon to you." Calian replied from inside the cabin.
Snap!
Wolvin snapped the leather reins after hearing his husband's answer. The large wheels of the wagon creaked, moving forward as the two horses quickened their pace.
The wagon continued moving forward, leaving the backyard, circling the main building, and crossing the front yard, before finally rolling smoothly past the main gates of the mansion.
However, right as the rear wheels of their wagon passed the boundary line of the mansion's iron gates, Calian, who was sitting inside the cabin, suddenly looked back. His purple eyes stared sharply at the grand building towering in the middle of the yard.
"Release." Calian said in a baritone voice that was intentionally lowered, audible only to himself.
Calian canceled the stasis authority that had been freezing the entire mansion area of the former ruler of Gias City.
Instantly, the flow of time inside the grand building returned to normal as it was before.
The maids and servants who worked for Thomas began to stir and wake up from their deep slumber in their respective rooms, preparing to start their morning routines to serve the noble. However, they were completely unaware that their master and his entire family were dead.
In the driver's seat at the front, Wolvin, who was focused on driving the horses on the main streets of Gias City, continued to urge the wagon forward. He focused his gaze on the road, entirely unaware that the flow of time inside the mansion behind them had just been restored by his husband.
Now, under the gradually brightening dawn sky, only the little boy's body of the alchemist sitting stiffly inside the closed cabin was still trapped within the shackles of the Stasis authority of Calian's [Time Loop] blessing.
