"I'm well aware of that," Lisa Lisa said slowly, sipping her coffee. "For millennia, they've sought a strange jewel known as the Red Stone of Aja. According to legend, embedding it into a Stone Mask will allow them to overcome their fatal weakness to sunlight and evolve into Ultimate Life Forms."
"The creator of the Stone Mask was Kars, the most brilliant among those three."
"Ohhh!" Joseph let out an exaggerated gasp at this shocking revelation.
"But then where is this 'Red Stone of Aja'? Could it be that such a stone doesn't even exist naturally?"
Lisa Lisa reached into her neckline, producing a necklace set with a large crimson gem. "Here it is—the perfect natural crystal, the only Red Stone of Aja in existence. To protect this gem from being seized, generations of Hamon warriors have waged a fierce, secret battle against those three beings. It has survived until today, and now I bear the [Mission of Guardianship] entrusted to me."
With Lisa Lisa's explanation, an epic, hidden history spanning thousands of years unfolded before everyone, finally clarifying all the mysteries.
"Then smash it!" Joseph suddenly interjected. "If we just shatter this stone, those guys would cry their hearts out! Without it, they'd never become Ultimate Life Forms!"
"We can't do that," Lisa Lisa firmly rejected his suggestion.
"Why not?"
"Because according to legend, if the Red Stone is destroyed, it becomes even harder to defeat those three," Lisa Lisa answered, but Joseph was clearly unconvinced.
"Rather than that," Ray Chu interjected thoughtfully, "if they learned the stone was permanently lost, they'd have no further restraint. With their capabilities, they'd create tens of thousands of vampires in a single day!"
Everyone froze in shock, anxiety rising rapidly at Ray Chu's grim prediction.
It was true—just by wearing a Stone Mask, anyone could become a vampire, and a single vampire could easily create hundreds of zombies. Humanity would be wiped out in no time!
"We can't let that happen!"
Joseph suddenly ignited with determination, and Caesar's expression filled with the resolve of a martyr.
Since the Pillar Men had appeared near Dunkirk, they decided to head directly to the front lines to eliminate them once and for all.
Dunkirk, a small port town in northeastern France near the Belgian border, was now swarming with over 400,000 British and French troops. Surrounded by German forces on three sides, their only escape route was by sea.
Ray Chu and the others crossed the English Channel by boat, slipping unnoticed through the German naval blockade thanks to their tiny vessel.
Entering the town from the port, they found an atmosphere of chaos and unease. The quaint town, originally home to only ten thousand people, was now crammed with hundreds of thousands of soldiers wandering aimlessly. Military equipment cluttered the streets, and everything seemed utterly disorganized.
"Whoa, things look pretty bleak," Joseph muttered.
He casually slung an arm around the neck of a passing British soldier and asked in fluent Cockney, "Oi, mate—where're the Germans right now, and what're you lot planning next?"
The soldier nearly snapped at him, but seeing Joseph's imposing stature and hearing his familiar accent, he swallowed his irritation. "We're evacuating by sea. Dunno if there'll even be room left for me, but for my dear Mary's sake, I'll find my way home. As for the Germans, you'll have to ask the generals about that."
Joseph released his grip, watching the lovesick soldier stumble towards the shore. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Four hundred thousand troops… How long do you reckon it'll take them all to evacuate?"
"The German planes and armored divisions are closing in fast," Ray Chu replied grimly, watching a reconnaissance plane pass overhead. "The best these troops can hope for now is to survive as prisoners—unless, by some miracle, the Germans suddenly halt their advance."
Joseph's expression grew contemplative.
...
With a direct call from President Roosevelt, they soon found themselves meeting Lord Gort, commander of the British Expeditionary Force, at the Allied temporary headquarters—a nondescript civilian house, chosen to avoid assassination attempts by Nazi vampires that could cripple the command structure.
"Commander, the guests from America have arrived," his aide announced from behind.
"I never imagined that the final chapter of my military career would involve battling mythical creatures like vampires," Lord Gort remarked, turning from the strategic map on the wall. His hair was grey, but his manner retained the blunt toughness of a lifelong soldier.
"Gentlemen, I'm grateful for your assistance at this critical juncture. But frankly, I'm skeptical about how decisive one or two 'superhuman' fighters can be in a war of this scale."
Lisa Lisa stepped forward decisively. "Commander, since the dawn of recorded history, we Hamon warriors have fought Pillar Men and vampires. This battle is meant to end it, once and for all."
Lord Gort lit a cigarette, offering it around, but no one else took him up on it. Drawing deeply, he exhaled slowly and said, "Before the Industrial Revolution, vampires might have posed a deadly threat to humanity's armies. But during daylight hours, they'd always hide like rats in the dark. Times have changed—now it's aircraft and artillery that dominate warfare. Flesh and blood are simply too fragile against steel."
There was truth in his words, but Ray Chu disliked the arrogant attitude of these white aristocrats. He scoffed coldly. "Race struggles aren't limited to conventional warfare. Your soldiers are already being killed. Those creatures have overcome their weakness to sunlight—they'll spread across the continent like a plague."
Lord Gort gave the audacious Asian fighter a long, steady look, but instead of anger, he nodded slowly. "You're right. This is indeed a race war. Those damn German bastards have abandoned all humanity. That's precisely why I didn't refuse President Roosevelt's request."
He stubbed his cigarette in the ashtray and continued, "So, what do you need from me? I'll offer whatever cooperation I can. The bureaucrats at Allied Command desperately need some good news. Good luck to you all."
Ultimately, at Lisa Lisa's recommendation, Lord Gort dispatched a ten-man special task force to help the three adventurers penetrate the German blockade and confront the Pillar Men directly.
Only three would go because Lisa Lisa, along with the Red Stone of Aja, would remain at headquarters. This ensured that even if they fell into a Nazi trap, the Pillar Men wouldn't immediately obtain the stone.
And in the worst-case scenario, the existence of the Red Stone itself could become their final bargaining chip for survival.
