Ray Chu and the others peered cautiously through the narrow slits in the ventilation duct.
What they saw beyond was a grotesque spectacle straight from the depths of hell itself.
A vast pool dominated the room—but instead of water, thick crimson blood gushed forth, its nauseating stench rising sharply into the air.
In one corner stood a massive iron cage packed with frightened captives. Periodically, prisoners were dragged out like livestock to slaughter, their arteries slashed open, blood spraying into the grisly reservoir below.
Scattered throughout the hall—barely a thousand square meters—were more than a hundred hideously mutated vampires, sipping human blood leisurely while reveling in their victims' final desperate struggles.
"Bastards!"
"You don't deserve to live!"
The horrifying scene unleashed a tidal wave of rage inside the trio. Without hesitation, three figures burst forth from the vent with a thunderous crash, fists crackling with searing Hamon energy.
Pop! Splurch! Crack!
Heads exploded like overfilled water balloons beneath lightning-fast punches. Driven by burning fury, the trio carved relentlessly through the mass of monsters, slaughtering every vampire within reach.
The sudden attack plunged the vampires into chaotic panic; dozens fell before they could even react. Yet soon enough, the creatures rallied, shrieking with excitement as if a harsh beam of light had invaded their shadowy lair.
"Kekeke! Intruders!"
|"Human! I'll twist your head off and use your skull as a cup!"
"Hehehe... Such powerful-looking men..."
"Come, become one with me..."
Completely indifferent to the deaths of their comrades, the vampires rushed toward the trio, frenzied with hunger and bloodlust.
"Bring it on, you freaks! [SUNLIGHT YELLOW OVERDRIVE]!"
Joseph roared defiantly, fighting like his ancestors once had in Dio's lair. Yet this time, their foes were vampires—ten times deadlier than the zombies of old.
BOOM!
Vampires flew through the air, howling as their bodies melted into sickening pulp. But these creatures knew no fear, charging endlessly into the brutal melee.
"They're Hamon warriors! Quickly, notify Lord Kars!" A vampire with distinctly Eastern features broke from the fray, rushing toward the basement.
The vampire horde paused momentarily, eyes gleaming in twisted joy as they recognized the intruders.
"Perfect! They're the Hamon scum opposing Lord Kars!"
"We were once scum awaiting execution. Lord Kars granted us new life—dying for his vision is an honor!"
"We don't even need the masters to intervene; we'll rip you apart ourselves!"
Despite the powerful advantage Hamon energy offered, the sheer number of vampires was overwhelming. Their unnatural regeneration ensured that any creature not destroyed completely would soon recover, while Ray Chu and his comrades steadily exhausted their strength, wounds gradually accumulating.
After smashing another grotesquely wolfish vampire into paste, Ray Chu shouted urgently to Joseph and Caesar, "Move!"
Immediately, the trio bolted toward the upper floors.
"Don't let them escape!"
Behind them, vampires crawled rapidly across walls and ceilings, drooling like starving ghouls unleashed from hell, a sight capable of breaking the strongest warrior's nerve.
Moments later, the trio found themselves cornered in an abandoned banquet hall on the hotel's third floor. The windows here had been sealed tight with heavy wooden boards and metal plating, blocking any chance of escape.
"Hehehe! Kekeke... Nowhere left to run, little darlings. We'll savor your flesh piece by piece!"
The vampires licked their fangs hungrily, crimson eyes gleaming with maddened anticipation as they closed in from every side.
"Aaaahhh! We're doomed! I'm so scared!" Joseph shrieked dramatically, clutching his face and writhing theatrically. Instantly, every vampire's gaze snapped toward him.
"Heh heh—just kidding!" Joseph grinned sheepishly, edging carefully toward the boarded windows.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Steel needles whipped past Joseph's cheek, embedding deeply in the wall. "Hey, brat! As long as I'm here—'Wired Beck'—don't even think about pulling anything!" a vampire covered in metallic spikes sneered.
"There's no point anyway. These windows are welded shut from the inside—you're completely trapped!" Another vampire gloated cruelly, attempting to shatter their hope entirely.
"Oh, right," Ray Chu suddenly raised a finger. "Almost forgot to mention. Actually, we lured you all here on purpose."
The vampires exchanged confused glances.
"So what?"
"Why do I suddenly have a bad feeling?"
"It doesn't matter; we'll kill them anyway!"
"Exactly! Quit talking—finish them already!"
"But why's he holding up one finger?"
"Idiot! It means nothing!"
"Oh, it definitely means something," Ray Chu said seriously. "Because once I lower this finger, your lives reach their end."
Silence.
"Pffft—Hahaha! Wahahaha!" Every vampire burst into uncontrollable laughter.
Ray Chu merely smiled calmly, then lowered his finger. "Your time's up—now."
A deafening explosion ripped through the room, flames and shockwaves instantly hurling everyone inside through the air.
Ray Chu's team and the vampires alike staggered, ears ringing, disoriented by the sudden blast.
At the same moment, the sealed windows blew open, sunlight pouring in from every side. Though the blast alone wasn't enough to kill them, the sun's rays were lethal. The vampires shrieked in agony as if splashed with acid, crumbling swiftly into ash.
When Ray Chu and his companions emerged from cover, the hall had become utterly silent—every vampire lay reduced to dust.
Joseph whistled appreciatively. "Nice tactics." His eyes caught sight of a small team swiftly retreating through the newly opened breach in the wall.
When Joseph had approached the window earlier, he'd discreetly signaled Lieutenant Ryan's team outside. Observing carefully, Ryan's unit promptly detonated the explosives as planned.
A single, precisely executed blast had annihilated a hundred vampires in an instant.
