Chapter 135 - Chapter 12: The Version That Passed the Test

The sky did not open this time.

It confirmed access.

-

The Azure Peaks darkened slightly.

Not from clouds.

From attention density returning.

Tiān Lán stood still.

He felt it immediately.

Not danger.

Not pressure.

But authorization of correction resuming.

His voice was calm.

"…They're back."

The Mirror did not respond immediately.

That itself was an answer.

Space folded.

Not violently.

Precisely.

Like a document being reopened with stricter rules.

The Execution-Class stepped out again.

But different.

More stable.

Less human-adjacent.

"Target reassessment complete."

A pause.

"Deviation level increased."

Tiān Lán narrowed his eyes slightly.

"…You came back alone?"

The figure tilted its head.

"We did not come back."

A pause.

"We were recompiled."

The air around them changed.

Reality felt more structured than before.

Less flexible.

More enforcing.

"Correction protocol updated."

"Previous attempt failed due to adaptive anomaly behavior."

A pause.

"This time, we will include prediction layer."

Tiān Lán exhaled slowly.

"…So you learned."

The Execution-Class answered simply:

"Yes."

Inside Tiān Lán_

the Mirror suddenly locked.

Not silent.

Not speaking.

But focusing.

A warning formed:

"Do not let them stabilize your pattern."

Tiān Lán frowned slightly.

"…Meaning?"

No answer.

But the air behind him changed.

The space behind Tiān Lán split.

But not like before.

No distortion.

No fracture.

Just arrival without resistance.

A second figure stepped out.

Identical silhouette.

But fundamentally different presence.

Calm.

Fully stable.

No flicker.

No instability.

Tiān Lán froze slightly.

"…That's not me."

The newcomer responded immediately:

"It is you."

A pause.

"Just after you stopped being uncertain."

The Execution-Class did NOT attack.

It paused.

For the first time.

"Stable Variant Detected."

A pause.

"Classification conflict."

The future Tiān Lán looked at the present one.

No hostility.

No superiority.

Just recognition.

"You are still in the phase where systems can argue about you."

A pause.

"That will end soon."

Three forces now existed:

Present Tiān Lán (unstable anomaly)

Execution-Class (system correction)

Future Tiān Lán (stable classified existence)

The air became heavy.

Not with power.

But with contradicting definitions of identity.

For the first time_

Mirror Echo spoke clearly through Tiān Lán.

Not fragmented.

Not unstable.

But direct:

"Do not trust either version."

A pause.

"Both are outcomes."

Tiān Lán narrowed his eyes.

"…Outcomes of what?"

No answer immediately.

Then_

"Different permissions granted by the same system."

The Execution-Class raised its hand slightly.

"Stable variant presence complicates correction protocol."

A pause.

"We must resolve identity priority."

The future Tiān Lán spoke calmly:

"You cannot correct what already stabilized beyond your layer."

The present Tiān Lán finally understood.

The system did not see time like him.

It saw:

"valid states of existence"

not past or future.

He was not becoming stronger.

He was becoming:

harder to classify across timelines

The Execution-Class began to dissolve slightly.

Not retreating.

Recalculating at higher authority level.

The future Tiān Lán looked at him one last time.

"You will reach here eventually."

A pause.

"But you will not arrive as the same version."

Then_

he vanished.

Silence returned.

But now it was layered again.

Different systems still observing.

Different conclusions still forming.

Tiān Lán stood alone.

But not unchanged.

The Mirror finally spoke:

"Now you understand why they fear outcomes more than power."

Tiān Lán looked forward calmly.

"…Because outcomes can escape classification."

The artifact pulsed once.

And for the first time_

it did not feel like it belonged to him.

It felt like it was waiting for agreement from reality itself.
