Boom!
The powerful shockwave directly sent the broken stones on the ground, the black viscous liquid shooting through the air, and the few cultists standing behind the door, all flying out four or five meters and crashing heavily to the ground.
The black viscous liquid in the air was also dispersed by the powerful shockwave, splattering onto the cultists wearing black cloaks and man-faced spider masks on their heads.
Sizzle! Sizzle! Sizzle!
Several cultists screamed in agony.
The black viscous liquid was perhaps a monster's venom, possessing extremely strong corrosive properties.
In just a few seconds, it corroded large holes through the cultists' clothes and the flesh beneath them.
And those few cultists, after only a few screams, were quickly poisoned to death.
However, there didn't seem to be only these few people behind the secret door.
Soon, seven or eight more cultists rushed out from inside, carrying various weapons like daggers, crossbows, shields, and longswords.
They were uniformly dressed in black robes, with hideous white man-faced spider masks covering their faces, making their original appearances unrecognizable.
However, Witchers didn't care who they were; cultists deserved to die.
As they rushed out of the stone door, the magic gathered in his right hand surged forth again.
A wave of orange flame, covering an area of over ten meters, immediately ignited all these cultists, who were only wearing robes.
Guilliman still had more than half of his magic left at this point. For such low-level enemies, he disdained to use his sword; it was more satisfying to just burn them all clean with the area-of-effect Igni.
Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!
These cultists clearly hadn't witnessed such methods. Perhaps to ordinary commoners, cultists who weren't afraid of death were already terrifying enemies.
But to a Witcher, they were just arrogant scumbags.
After waiting for ten-odd seconds, until the ignited cultists lay on the ground, struggling weakly, the Witcher quickly stepped forward and delivered the finishing blow to each cultist, directly severing all their heads.
Then, he conjured a huge metal shield from his storage space, held it in front of him, and charged into the stone door tunnel.
This was Guilliman's usual setup: shield, metal nets, alchemical bombs, and a cocked crossbow, used to deal with various emergencies.
Although he was very confident in his defense, for safety's sake, he had never discarded the huge metal shield.
Indeed, Guilliman's charging speed was extremely fast; a distance of several tens of meters was covered in the blink of an eye. However, many crossbow bolts and corrosive venom still clanged! clanged! clanged! clanged! against his shield.
When the area in front of him opened up, he directly threw the metal shield in his hand, sending a cultist not far away flying.
Then, he found his position, blinked a few meters away, and the Sword of Blinding Light in his hand was merciless, aiming at the cultists in the secret chamber, beginning a furious slaughter.
Compared to those crazed monsters, these cultists in the secret chamber were simply too weak.
They themselves were not skilled in combat, and being there to hold a sacrificial ritual, they were only wearing thin robes, without any defense whatsoever.
Every one of the Witcher's swords could cut a cultist in half.
In less than two minutes, the entire spacious secret chamber was filled with over twenty corpses. All the cultists were cut in half by him at the fastest speed, with almost no power to resist.
Even the one called 'Elder,' who tried to use an evil ritual to turn himself into a flesh bomb and self-destruct.
However, he had barely raised his dagger, intending to stab himself in the chest, when his head was already cut off by the Witcher.
The battle ended. The Witcher shook the bloodstains from the Sword of Blinding Light and found that this was an altar converted from an elven tomb.
Besides some stone coffins that hadn't been moved yet, there was a huge statue of a man-faced spider in the center of the altar.
It must be the 'God of Ill Omen' they spoke of.
The statue's appearance was terrifying. Many human skulls were piled around it, and the entire statue was covered in bloodstains, as if soaked in blood, emitting an ominous glow.
Just as Guilliman was staring at the man-faced spider statue, observing it, suddenly, the huge man-faced spider statue seemed to flash with a faint light, and an inexplicable evil energy emanated from the statue, piercing into his body.
At the same time, his heart immediately felt a sharp pain, like a stinging sensation from being corroded by potent poison.
However, this anomaly came and went quickly. In less than a second, that evil power was absorbed by his soul space, then crushed and converted into pure soul power.
The emotionless voice of the Deep Blue system came.
Absorbed a powerful curse, Soul Power + 50.
Guilliman was startled and immediately looked at the statue vigilantly.
Damn it, it can even release curses. It's truly a product of an evil god.
Too bad, curses and such, this Witcher grandpa isn't afraid of them. He's eaten plenty of these. He isn't even afraid of the evil god Dagon's curse, let alone this unknown minor evil god.
Guilliman circled the statue. He felt that the statue was very eerie, as if it possessed some kind of evil vitality. As for the name 'God of Ill Omen,' he seemed to have heard it somewhere, but he had forgotten the specifics.
After a few tens of seconds, an even stronger evil curse emanated from the statue, entering his body.
Guilliman's mind wavered for a second, as if his brain had been violently poked with a hammer, causing a slight stinging pain.
But this curse was immediately absorbed and crushed by his soul space, converting into one hundred points of soul power.
Damn it, it's treating me like a pushover.
The Witcher grew angry. He felt that this statue was like some kind of wraith-like monster, having gained a bit of an evil god's power after being worshipped by the cultists.
Unfortunately, this power hadn't fully formed yet and could only harm others through curses.
Since that was the case, Guilliman raised the Sword of Blinding Light in his hand, gripping it with both hands, pushing the golden sword aura to its maximum extent, then brought down a fierce slash on the statue.
Instantly, the statue was cut into two halves.
After destroying the statue, the Witcher held his hand in the Axii Sign posture and frantically absorbed from the statue.
An evil god that hadn't even completed its form, yet it still wanted to harm me. Watch me devour you, grandpa!
