The morning rays came through. The window. As I groggy woke up to see Marinette hugging Charles. Charles' neck was covered in bite marks. I felt a jealous grip on my chest. "What in the world?" Charles asked with a yawn.
"Brother a few more minutes." Marinette whined. Holding tighter to Charles.
"I am sorry Mari but I have an early morning." Charles said with a small smile. Gentle nudging trying to get Marinette off him.
"I don't wanna." Marinette complained, snuggling farther into Charles' chest.
"Please." Charles asked. As I rolled my eyes.
"Get off." I said with a cold tone.
"Shut up." Marinette said glaring at me. I glared back at her.
"Okay you two back off. Mari, please get out of my room." Charles said softly.
"But I want to stay." Marinette complained.
"Please leave." Charles said. With a long sigh.
"But.." Marinette whined.
"Leave." Charles spoke slightly more commanding,
"Fine." Marinette said. With a frown on her face. As she left the room. The door clicked shut.
"Finally." Charles said. As he starts to change. Then he quickly finished changing.
"You spoil her too much." I said as I landed on his shoulder.
"I love my family." Charles said. As we walked out. Arthur was breaking up a fight between the Wyrm and the Wyvern. Charles shakes his head. But they suddenly stopped when Charles walked into the room.
"Wow they seem to respect you." Arthur said as both of them fell the silence.
"Yeah." Charles said, yawning as he left the room. Walking into the cool morning breeze. Walking past glowing red eyes under a tree. Ghouls. There were a lot of them.
"Looks like they out early." I said. As Charles sniffed the air then frowned.
"Corpse." Charles said suddenly. The walk stretched onwards. Then we came to a corpse that was a bloody mush. Ripped apart from the Ghouls. Charles kicked under the trees. The Ghouls swarm the corpse. Crunching and snapping could be heard.
"Who do you think that was?" I asked. As Charles looked at me with his blue eyes.
"A fool." Charles said. The cover story is that the Ghouls are guard dogs. They do a great job of it. Ripping apart almost anything.
"A fool. You're right." I said. Charles starts to walk to the capital. The thick forest slowly turned more sparse. Turning into grasslands.
"We will take some extra time." Charles said.
"So when will the Anima Cure be given out?" I asked. Charles smiles. As he punched something into his phone a text of sorts.
"Don't worry." Charles said with a smile on his face.
"Something is going to happen." I said an almost whisper. Charles let out a laugh.
"Yeah the match tonight." Charles said.
"Something else something that you planned." I spoke. Charles seemed to ignore that comment. As the morning was gone it was about noon. Charles smile only grew. As we finally got to the city.
"I.D." The Second Division Hunter said. As Charles slides his Hunter I.D.
"You." He growled.
"What?" Charles said.
"Your under arrest under the charges of threatening hunters." Second Division Hunter barked.
"Alex. How is that?" One of the younger Hunters asked as his eyes widened.
"This is the punk that threatened me." Alex answered as he locked the cuff around Charles' wrist.
"Of course." Charles rolled his eyes.
"You're arrested for fake I.D." Alex said. Charles eyebrow raised an inch. As Charles was placed in a temporary holding cell. It was open with a massive bar wall open to the morning sun.
"That's my spot." Charles said looking at the person who was sitting right where the sun was going to hit. The person seemed disgusted.
"I don't see your name on it." The guy said.
"Maybe I made this unclear… move." Charles threatened. The guy threw a punch. Charles kicked him into the wall. Creating spider web cracks on the wall. He pushed him to the ground with his feet.
"You'll pay." The young guy said. As suddenly he started to cough up blood. Others pretend not to notice. Charles sat down with a smile. The door suddenly opened. Showing a bulky guy that stands over twice the size of anyone else. He looked at the guy on the floor then at Charles. He walked forward.
"Are the cuffs uncomfortable? I can get one of the guards to remove them." The guy said he was a Demi-Human. Having dog-like characteristics.
"Ruin, he assaulted me." The smaller guy still on the floor pointed at Charles.
"It is finally nice to put a face to a name. Charles Pendulum." Ruin said as he sat down next to Charles. With a smile on his face.
"You are?" Charles asked. As he bursted out laughing. Then it slowed down before he looked at Charles.
"Well in the ring I faced you worst beating I was given so I know if you wanted you could slaughter everyone in here well being cuffed." Ruin said.
"You think so?" Charles asked.
"I know so." Ruin answered.
"Are you going to get revenge on me?" Charles questioned.
"Heavens no." Ruin said.
"This is a temporary cell? Since when is putting someone new in general pop a good idea?" Charles asked himself with a sigh.
"Must the hunters have a grudge? What did you do?" Ruin asked. Charles shakes his head.
"I have no clue about a fake I.D. or something like that." Charles answered. Ruin started to laugh. Then the sunlight hit Charles.
"You let them catch you." Ruin said. As he was still laughing. Charles stomps on his foot that seemed to shut him up. He winced.
"Message received." Rubin said as he held his boot. Massaging it slowly. The TV flickered on.
"On the Hunter Feast Tournament. The former rounds were Charles Starling vs Niuhi. It was a sweep for Charles the son of the stars. Leo Starling vs Flamebé was a clash of fire but Leo Starling won that match. It seemed like the blue team could not be stopped. But then the third match up. Pluto Hades vs Milla Calamatias it was the red team's first win when the tide turns." The male reporter spoke shuffling through a few papers. As he finally put them down.
"Milla showed some strength. I hope the next match will show more of that." The female reporter said.
"It about to start." Male reporter said as the feed cuts to the arena.
"How ready for the next match!" Gin shouts. The crowd once again roars. They seemed to be divide by blue or red team shirts.
"We are!"
"Let the next match begin!"
"Red you can beat the blue!"
"Blue keep the lead!" Were some of the shout I heard the people in prison seemed to be happy.
"Finally I was waking up and the TV was finally fixed too." One of the prisoners said, everyone was fixed on the TV. Charles was smiling.
"One of the religious jewels of the Holy Empire of Luma! It is the one of the Saintess! Mary O'bell. Versus the man forged in hell but still an angel! Gabriel Merlin." Gin shouted. The crowd shouted.
"10 silver on girl." One of them said, with a smile.
"100 silver on the girl." Another one said. Charles smiled, it was huge.
"1,000 gold on Gabriel." Charles said with a smile his eyes were shadowed.
"You're insane!" One of them shouted.
"That girl is a well known holy caster. You know what can heal and buff allies. It is also known to have holy magic." A second one said he was confused.
"Free money." One of them spoke with a smile. As a huge pile of silver was built on the table in the corner. They all stared at Charles like he was crazy.
"You know you have to pay up if he loses right?" Ruin whispered into Charles' ear.
"I know." Charles said with a massive smile spilling his face.
"Let the match begin!" Gin yelled before anyone else could speak.
"Holy Beam." Mary said as a golden magic sigil appeared in front of Mary.
"Holy magic is the weakness of demons like me." A voice said. It was Ce.
'How are you doing Ce?" Charles asked the question that rang out in my mind.
"Master, my name is Se." Se said. With a sigh.
'So what do you need?' Charles questioned once again it rang in my head.
"I wanted to tell you to demons like me Holy magic is our weakness." Se said. As Charles' eyes refocused on the screen Gabriel slashed through them.
"What in the world did he cut through the Holy magic?" Gin asked, the crowd seemed shocked. Gabriel looked bored.
"Chaos Slash." Gabriel said as a crescent moon made of pure black Chaos Energy surged forth. Mary was able to jump out of the way.
"Holy Imprisonment." Mary said. As the golden chains formed around Gabriel. As his Chaos Energy surged and broke them.
"What in the world?" One of the guys asked. He was now on the ground.
"It seems as if Gabriel is much stronger than we thought." Gin yelled. The crowd got hyped again.
"Holy Beam." Mary said as she started to charge up the golden energy into the Sigil.
"You know what is in the interest of fairness. Take your best shot." Gabriel said.
"What gives you so much confidence?" Mary questioned. Gabriel was smiling.
"Charles. He is strong and noble. Your too weak to defeat me I will enjoy the next time we get to cross blades." Gabriel said. Pointing his katana Yamato at Mary. Finally the beam was fired.
"Chaos Reinforcement: Level 4." Gabriel said. As black plated Samurai armor. It was almost fully opaque. I felt Charles shiver.
"What in the world?" Mary asked, taking a step back.
"Chaos Slash." Gabriel said as the blade of Chaos energy cut through the ring. Causing a deep slash mark to appear. But then bombs went off. Several of them. Some on screen, some nearby.
"There attack!" One of the hunters screamed.
"By whom?" Another one yelled. As all the screens in the room.
"We are the house of Evolution." The voice on the screen said.
"What?" One of the inmates said.
"Our targets are Charles Starling and Gabriel Merlin." The voice on the screen said.
"What is that thing?" A hunter said. As then it was the sound of ripping flesh. As a wolf with blood dripping from his mouth.
"Hello Predator." The wolf said its mouth was gleaming with crimson stained teeth.
"Hello Wolf." Charles said. The wolf busted down the cell door. Everyone else was panicking going to a corner but Charles was smiling. As I took the air. The wolf lunged and Charles also leaped. Charles bites down on the wolf's throat. A crimson spray covered the floor as Charles ripped the throat of the wolf out. He stands to his full size.
"What are you?" One of the people watching asked in fear. Charles spat out the fur and flesh from his mouth. He had a bloody smile like that wolf.
"I am Charles. Nothing more nothing less." Charles said. Blood running from his mouth onto his throat.
"Well then. Who won the bet?" Ruin asked. Charles starts to laugh. Some of the blood launched on the floor. Charles' laugh started to die down.
"It's me." Charles said. No one dared to speak up against those words. As he started to walk to the silver tokens.
"Here." One of the inmates said it was a massive bag. Charles grabbed the bag with a nod. He broke his cuff like wet tissue paper. He started stuffing the silver into the bag.
"Thanks and I will see you again." Charles said waving goodbye.
"Bye I shall see you soon." Ruin said. As Charles left he saw that several dead bodies of hunters lay on the floor. Did the wolf kill them?
"Wonder if Talo is alive?" Charles asked no one.
"He is. My vice president." Pyro said his red and blue jester outfit as he appears beside Charles.
"Good." Charles said.
"Deadman follow me." Pyro spoke. As Pyro started to lead me. As I see Alex he was slaying several Chaos Beast.
"Thank you. You are dismissed." Charles said.
"Farewell Deadman." Pyro said as he just vanished into thin air.
"Help me." Talo said not looking at us. As he slays another Chaos Beast.
"Okay." Charles said.
"Starlight: Arrow." Charles said as he launched into Talo back blood dripped from his back as he looked at Charles.
"Not bad for a pompous ass right? Never insult my family." Charles said walking forward the Chaos beast slowly backed off.
"See Chaos Beast have the ability to sense when they are outmatched. These are C-rank beasts so at a B-rank power level. But you can say goodbye." Charles said looking at him in his eyes he was inches away from him. Charles turned and waved.
"Please don't leave me! Please help-" Talo yelled. Reaching out a hand as the Chaos Beast started to rip him apart.
"In the end I win." Charles said. As I heard a howl. A wolf like Chaos Beast appeared.
"Starlight: Blaze." Charles spoke as his hand glowed with intense Starlight. As it burst into flames. As it slowly turned to ash.
"Why did the House of Evolution come out now?" I asked Charles. Charles started to laugh.
"The house of evolution. Had nothing to do with this. It causes me to cause a little bit of chaos to get the cure into the city walls." Charles said. As he turned into an abandoned house.
"Hello Hellhound." Arthur said in his uniform. His criminal disguise was that of a demon. As he threw the Hell Hound uniform at Charles. He grabbed it.
"Thank you Greed." Charles said with a small smile.
"I better get out of here." Arthur said and waved. As Charles puts on Hell Hound costume. I flew above him. Then Charles put the huge bag of silver and the Cure for the Anima Virus Cure.
"Well then I should get it then I should start my plan." Charles said walking out of the abandoned house and seeing Weapon and several Second Division members. They seemed to take notice.
"Hey stop." One of them asked.
"How are you?" Another one of them asked.
"Follow me Weapon." Charles said taking a bow.
"Weapon don't listen to him, it's a trap." The first one said,
"As the commander of the second Division I will follow you." Weapon said. As Charles lead him into the abandoned building.
"In here. You will find the thing you need." Charles said as he disappeared using the Phantom Cloak.
