"Your plan, much like your soul, stinks to high heaven."

Fury's hollow eye sockets stared at Gravik as he swung a burning fist with sudden force.

Bang—Sizzle—!!

The punch landed squarely on Gravik's face.

The high temperature instantly melted half of Gravik's cheek.

The massive impact sent him flying backward, crashing into the control console behind him and sending sparks flying.

Seeing this, the surrounding Skrull warriors were shaken, yet they instinctively closed in.

"For Skrull!"

They raised various alien weapons, attempting to block this burning demon.

"A bunch of pests."

Flames rose around Fury as he whipped out the Hellfire chain with a flick of his wrist.

"Feel the pain!"

Crack!

The fire whip swept out.

Three Skrull warriors were cut in half at the waist. No blood flowed from the wounds because they were charred the instant they were touched.

"Aaaaah!!"

The remaining warriors opened fire in terror.

Fury opened his mouth, and a fan-shaped spray of fire erupted.

Any Skrull touched by the flames, whether skin or armor, was reduced to ash.

Pale white skeletal claws grabbed a Skrull trying to escape, clutching his head in one hand.

"Look into my eyes!" Flames followed his pupils to burn his soul.

In an instant, that Skrull turned into a charred corpse amidst endless agony.

It was a one-sided Carnage.

In just two short minutes, over a hundred charred corpses filled the hall.

Seeing such a terrifying scene, and with their new leader's fate unknown, the rest of the Skrulls scattered and fled in panic.

Having cleared the underlings, Fury stepped forward, preparing to end this radical leader with 'look into my eyes.'

"Accept your judgment."

However, Gravik let out a laugh and slowly stood up.

"Heh... Hehehe..."

His previously melted cheek was already perfectly intact, and an orange-red glow lit up beneath his skin.

It looked like magma flowing under the skin.

"Hmm? Extremis?"

The fire in Fury's skeletal sockets flickered, seemingly a bit surprised.

Gravik worked his jaw, a triumphant smile appearing on his face.

"Decent power, Fury."

"But it's not enough."

As he spoke, Gravik's body began to undergo a drastic transformation.

The muscles in his left arm suddenly bulged, tearing through his sleeve, and his skin instantly turned dark green, becoming as thick as a concrete pillar—that was Hulk's arm!

His right side, meanwhile, was covered in a layer of rock-like, grayish-brown keratin, and bone spurs even protruded from his spine—those were the characteristics of the Abomination!

"What...?"

On Fury's burning skull, his jawbone hung slightly open, clearly taken aback.

"But did you forget who I am?"

"I am Gravik, the Commander of the squad you sent to handle 'post-war cleanup' back then."

"I remember now..."

Fury's voice turned low.

"The Battle of New York... and the Dark Elves..."

"I once gave the order for the Skrulls to disguise themselves as cleanup crews from the Department of Damage Control to go to the battlefields and collect blood and tissue samples left by those super-beings... to prepare for future threats."

"Ha! Exactly!"

Gravik's figure suddenly blurred, like an afterimage.

That was Quicksilver's speed gene!

"And now... I am that threat!"

Fury felt a blur before his eyes.

Immediately after, a massive force slammed into his chest.

Bang—!!

His skeletal body uncontrollably crashed through three layers of concrete walls.

Amidst the ruins, rubble exploded outward.

"Damned genetic hybrid..."

Fury spat out a mouthful of fiery saliva.

He swung the Hellfire chain, aiming to entangle Gravik.

"Too slow!"

Gravik's figure vanished instantly, reappearing at Fury's side.

Fury turned and opened his mouth, a stream of Hellfire erupting from within.

Gravik didn't dodge.

His body instantly turned ice-blue, covered in a chilling frost aura that allowed him to withstand the burning of the Hellfire.

The unique ice power of the Frost Giants was one of the few forces capable of resisting Hellfire.

"Got you!"

Gravik's arm broke through the flames, grabbing Fury's skull and lifting him into the air.

Then, his arm muscles bulged, transforming into a Hulk arm as he attempted to crush Fury's head.

"Heh—!"

Fury was not to be outdone, and the flames on his body suddenly erupted.

"I am immortal!!"

Skeletal hands grabbed Gravik's wrist, and Hellfire burned the green skin frantically.

Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle—

The smell of charring permeated the air.

The Hulk arm was burned until the flesh split open, and Gravik released Fury in pain.

Then, his super-regeneration instantly repaired the wounds on his arm.

The two once again clashed in battle.

It was a duel between monsters.

The entire Base was riddled with holes, walls collapsed, and steel beams melted.

They fought from the inside out, from the abandoned nuclear power plant all the way to the center of Pripyat City.

An abandoned amusement park sat there.

The rust-covered Ferris wheel let out a creaking moan in the cold wind.

Bang!

Fury was struck by a heavy blow from Gravik, slamming into the bumper car arena and flattening several rusty little cars.

Gravik descended like a meteorite from the sky, legs straightened as he stomped toward Fury.

Fury rolled away to dodge, his chain wrapping around the Ferris wheel's support, and he pulled hard.

The massive Ferris wheel support snapped and crashed toward Gravik.

Gravik held up the hundred-ton support with one hand, while the other condensed a massive frost spear.

"Die, Fury!"

Just as the two were locked in a stalemate.

Suddenly, a gust of wind blew by.

The gray clouds that had originally shrouded Pripyat miraculously split into several gaps.

Long-awaited sunlight pierced through the cloud layer, shining directly onto the amusement park and the two combatants.

Sizzle—

The Hellfire on Fury's body suddenly contracted the moment it touched the sunlight.

That continuous flow of power suddenly experienced a noticeable stutter.

"What's going on?!" Fury was shocked.

His movements slowed by a beat.

"Ha!"

Gravik keenly captured this change.

"What's wrong, old man? Out of gas?"

Gravik grinned savagely, seizing the opportunity to close in instantly.

Raising his massive fists, he hammered a combination of punches into Fury.

Bang, bang, bang!

Fury was beaten without any ability to fight back, the flames on his body growing weaker and weaker, even as cracks seemed to appear on his bones.

"Damn it... why?!"

Fury was beaten back repeatedly, finally crashing into the railing of a rotating plane ride and falling to one knee.

Just as he was filled with confusion.

A familiar voice rang in his ear.

"Are you confused, Fury?"

It was Mephisto's voice.

"Why is it that in the sunlight, your power becomes as limp as a man with premature ejaculation?"

"You can't blame me for this."

"Remember the little game you played with the contract?"

"Did you think that by using that damned Clay Seal, you could get power from me for free?"

"Hahahaha—!" Mephisto's laughter echoed in Fury's mind.

"Since it's a fair trade, we must observe equivalent exchange."

"The price of incompletion can naturally only buy incomplete power."
