Chapter 298 - Chapter 298: My Husband is Back

The deafening gunfire merged into a seamless symphony of death.

The bullets seemed to have eyes of their own, accurately tracking every Parademon, every Dark Elite Warrior, and even the fleets hovering in mid-air.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Countless brilliant sparks bloomed in the sky.

In just over ten seconds.

The Apokolips Suicide Army that had driven all Earthlings to despair was swept away by this terrifying barrage!

Not a single living monster could be seen in the sky anymore!

The gunfire stopped.

Harley coolly blew on the smoke rising from the muzzle, spun the revolver around her fingertip a few times, and sheathed it with a stylish "click."

"Phew..."

Having resolved everything, Harley let out a long sigh of relief.

She leaped, jumping back to the center of the square like a feather.

The moment she landed.

"Clatter."

Due to previously enduring multiple hits from the Omega Beams and the ultimate move overdrawing the mask's magic.

The green mask lost its luster, fell from her face, and landed on the rubble nearby.

Harley's legs gave way, and she slumped to the ground, reverting to an ordinary woman in a tattered wedding dress.

She gasped for air, her bones feeling as if they were falling apart, without even the strength to move a finger.

But the entire Metropolis, after a brief silence, erupted in thunderous cheers.

Those Resistance soldiers and civilians who had escaped death looked at the falling ash and the countless monster corpses, and after a few seconds of daze, finally realized what had happened.

The army of Apokolips had been completely wiped out!

"We survived!"

"She did it! That girl did it!"

"We won!!"

"Long live Harley!!"

"Long live the First Lady!!"

People wept with joy, embracing each other to celebrate this tragic yet incredible victory.

Through the live broadcast, viewers all over the World were also clapping and cheering for the girl who created this miracle.

Amidst this jubilant atmosphere, a massive gray figure slowly rose from the distant ruins.

Darkseid.

He looked in terrible shape, his body covered in huge craters from the bullets, with blood still hissing out of the holes.

But he was still alive.

"A foolish carnival."

The Omega Force inside Darkseid surged wildly, and the dense wounds, shrouded in red light, were restored to their original state in an instant.

Like an insurmountable mountain, he walked toward Harley again as she sat paralyzed on the ground.

"No..." Bruce desperately tried to stand up, but he had lost too much blood and fell heavily back to the ground as soon as he rose.

Darkseid walked up to Harley, looking down at the girl who no longer had the strength to resist.

He reached out, once again firmly choking Harley's neck and lifting her into the air.

"Your tricks are over."

This time, the miracle had been exhausted, and the mask had fallen off.

Everyone clenched their fists, watching helplessly as the girl struggled in pain in the air.

"No..." Bruce desperately tried to stand up, but he had lost too much blood and fell heavily back to the ground as soon as he rose.

Barry gritted his teeth, dragging his leg which had been blown into a bloody mess.

They had just seen the dawn of hope, only to watch that light be snuffed out once again.

"Who will... save her..."

A little girl hiding in the ruins folded her hands, tears streaming down her face.

Somewhere in a corner of the square, someone softly called out a name.

"Homelander..."

The voice was small, but soon, a second person joined the call.

"Homelander."

Then a third, a fourth, a hundredth, a ten-thousandth.

Whether in Metropolis, Paris, Moscow, or every corner of the Earth.

Whether it was the ordinary people standing or the fallen heroes.

A billion people, regardless of nationality or race, their heartbeats seemed to be linked together.

Everyone simultaneously, in their hearts and with their voices, frantically called out that name.

"Homelander!!!"

"Homelander!!!"

"Homelander—!!!"

...

"Homelander?"

Darkseid gave a cold sneer.

"This is the savior you call for? A coward who ran away with his tail between his legs in the face of true power?"

His fingers tightened slightly, Harley's neck bones making a dangerous creaking sound, "When you needed him most, he abandoned you."

"You don't know shit... you piece of moldy granite..." Harley sneered, completely indifferent to her own pain.

"He went to pick out a coffin for you! When he comes back, he'll twist your ugly head off and shove it up your exhaust port!"

Darkseid was not angry; he merely gazed at the woman before him.

He had to admit that the power this woman had just displayed indeed exceeded his expectations.

That kind of reality-warping power made even him feel a slight threat.

"I have never shown mercy to anyone twice, woman. You are the first." Darkseid spoke, "Submit to me, and the previous promise still stands."

"Sounds nice, but your stupid look is just too lame."

"If you put on a pink skirt and dance ballet for me, I might consider it."

Darkseid listened quietly to Harley's taunts.

He controlled the Anti-Life Equation and could easily see through the inner fears of any living being, using the formula to destroy their will and turn them into absolutely obedient slaves.

At this moment, the Anti-Life Equation had been silently injected into Harley's brain through his palm.

But soon, Darkseid's brow furrowed.

No fear.

No despair.

Deep in the mind of this dying madwoman, Darkseid saw a wall made of blind worship, extreme fanaticism, and a pathological "love and hope."

She firmly believed that the man named "Homelander" was invincible, and she firmly believed that man would return to marry her.

This intense emotion directly isolated the computational logic of the Anti-Life Equation.

The trace of appreciation in Darkseid's eyes vanished completely.

"Since you cannot be conquered, then turn to dust."

Just as he was about to exert force, his movement suddenly paused.

"Hum— Hum— Hum—"

His keen senses perceived that the gravitational constant of the surrounding space was undergoing a violent distortion.

Darkseid was all too familiar with this fluctuation; it was the energy reaction of a Boom Tube.

But the fleets of Apokolips had already all arrived; how could a new Boom Tube be opening on Earth at this time?

Who was forcibly tearing through space?

And Harley's bloodshot eyes now shone with an amazing brilliance. She struggled to turn her eyes to look behind Darkseid, the smile on her lips widening to the limit.

"Cough... haha... you ugly freak..." Harley squeezed out a mocking laugh from deep in her throat, "You're finished... my husband is back.
