"Speak," Thanos said indifferently.
"The operation at Nidavellir was initially a sure success. But... that person suddenly appeared."
Proxima Midnight's eyes burned with bone-deep hatred.
"Who?"
"It is... Homelander," Proxima Midnight spat the name out through gritted teeth.
"He descended suddenly, with power so incredible... we had no power to resist."
"He not only destroyed our army but also destroyed a mothership outside the ring."
"At that time, I sent a ship to pick up Corvus Glaive for retreat. We had even initiated a space jump, and half the ship had almost entered the wormhole."
Proxima Midnight's eyes were full of unwillingness.
"But he... still could not escape the fate of death..."
Listening to Proxima Midnight's report, Thanos did not fly into a rage.
He just repeated the name in a low voice, lost in thought.
"Homelander..."
Some time ago, news about a new Guardian of the Galaxy circulated from that arrogant High Priestess Ayesha of the Sovereign.
This new Guardian was called Homelander.
Didn't expect to face him so soon.
He stood up, slowly walked down the steps, and came before Proxima Midnight.
He gently pressed down on Proxima Midnight's trembling shoulder.
"Dry your tears, Proxima. Death is only a part of the balance of the Universe," Thanos comforted her indifferently. "Hatred can be kept, but do not let it blind you."
"As for that Homelander..."
Thanos glanced at the Infinity Gauntlet on his left hand; the Power Stone was emitting a faint purple glow.
"We will have a chance to take revenge..."
...
Muspelheim.
Violent thunder once again resounded throughout the entire realm of Fire.
Only this time, the roles of attacker and defender had reversed.
Thor gripped the brand-new Stormbreaker, like a god of war descended to the world.
"Boom—!"
He spun and threw the axe.
Stormbreaker rotated at high speed in mid-air, carrying the violent power of thunder. Wherever the lightning passed, hundreds and thousands of Fire demons turned to ashes.
The axe carved a perfect arc in the air and flew steadily back into Thor's hand.
"Hahahaha! Satisfying!"
Ever since mjolnir left, he hadn't felt the joy of throwing a weapon for a long time.
Finally, the cannon fodder on the battlefield was cleaned up completely.
At the distant crater, the ruler of Muspelheim, the Fire giant Surtur, watched all this with anger.
He had originally intended to use his endless demon army to wear Thor out again, but he didn't expect that after this Son of Odin went back, he would actually obtain this terrifyingly powerful artifact.
"Son of Odin!" Surtur's roar was deafening, "Do you think a broken axe can defeat me?!"
Thor laughed, leaped up, and jumped into mid-air.
He held the axe high, aiming directly at the distant Fire giant Surtur.
Surtur swung his massive Twilight Sword, bringing up a sky full of flames, and slashed down at the diving Thor.
Thor showed no fear, lightning blazing in his eyes.
"Today I will let you see what a real Thor is!"
Stormbreaker and the Twilight Sword collided fiercely.
"Clang—!!!"
The violent Impact shaved off a layer of the crater's rock wall.
Thor roared, pouring the thunderous divine power within him into Stormbreaker without reservation.
"Crack!"
A clear crack appeared on the blade of the Twilight Sword.
Panic flashed through Surtur's eyes.
"Extinguish! Surtur!"
Thor exerted force suddenly, Stormbreaker shattered the great sword, and he swung forward in one motion.
The axe blade, wrapped in thunder, directly chopped off Surtur's head.
Surtur's massive body collapsed with a boom, turning into sparks flying across the sky.
Only a huge skull crown was left, falling onto the scorched ground.
Thor bent down and picked up Surtur's crown.
Although he had just experienced a great battle, with the blessing of Stormbreaker, he didn't feel too exhausted.
He proudly carried the crown on his shoulder and shouted triumphantly.
"Did you see that, Loki!"
"This is the true strength of Thor! In the future, don't make up those fake, unrealistic plays to humiliate your powerful brother!"
"Hahahaha—!"
Thor laughed unscrupulously for two and a half minutes.
However, the surroundings were quiet; he could neither hear Loki's sarcasm nor his hypocritical compliments.
Thor's laughter gradually stopped.
He looked around the empty battlefield, his expression changing slightly.
"Loki?"
Thor shouted again.
Still no response.
He sighed helplessly and reached out to hold his forehead.
"Damn it! This bastard ran off again."
He only then realized that this guy Loki would never honestly stay on the battlefield and watch him show off.
As the best guide of the Nine Realms, Loki had long wandered through various realms, mastering many secret space rifts and teleportation channels.
As long as he wanted to leave, he could slip away silently at any time.
The best guide of the Nine Realms—this sentence really wasn't just praising him.
Thor sighed helplessly and tied Surtur's crown to his back with an iron chain.
Then he raised Stormbreaker, and the seven-colored rainbow light descended from the sky, taking Thor away from this lava purgatory.
...
Near the Sun's orbit.
Super Ego closed his eyes, floating quietly outside the corona layer.
The radiation of the yellow Sun poured continuously into his every cell.
The genetic collapse and cellular damage caused by the overuse of the Reality Stone had been completely repaired under the nourishment of stellar energy.
The originally gray skin regained its luster.
Finally, Super Ego slowly opened his eyes.
He clenched his fist, feeling the majestic power once again filling his body.
He then turned around, turned into a stream of light, and sped towards the direction of Earth.
...
Homelander leaned back in his office chair, looking at the unharmed Super Ego standing before him, and nodded with satisfaction.
After all, Super Ego was currently the most valiant subordinate under his command.
"State is good," Homelander stood up. "Since you have recovered, some plans should be put on the agenda. Come with me."
The two came to the balcony, soared into the sky together, and in the blink of an eye, arrived deep in the Arctic Circle.
Homelander stopped in front of a huge iceberg.
His eyes glowed red, and two beams of Heat Vision instantly cut into the iceberg.
In just a few minutes, Homelander had hollowed out a spacious and flat ice cave inside the iceberg, the size of a basketball court.
The two walked into the ice cave.
Homelander placed the Genesis Chamber brought back from the DC Universe in the center of the ice cave.
Afterwards, Homelander took out the ghostly green Kryptonite knife from his magic pocket and handed it to Super Ego.
"The activation of the Genesis Chamber requires a Kryptonian genetic sample as the startup key."
Super Ego took the Kryptonite knife and, without hesitation, cut a gash in his palm.
Blood dripped into the gene collection slot of the Genesis Chamber.
"Beep—"
The instrument emitted a crisp startup sound, and indicator lights of various colors lit up one by one.
"Master, the cultivation program has started. Please select the cultivation mode."
"Rapid cultivation, or natural birth?"
