Chapter 142 - To Sate One's Curiosity

Inside the living room of Arvin's residence, the situation slowly returned to normal. The heat of passion that had peaked was now slowly subsiding. Allen finally released his tight embrace and pulled his hand from behind his husband's pants after hearing the promise spoken by the person he loved the most.

Arvin adjusted his clothes which had become wrinkled, then looked at the faces of Allen, Alrain, and Ordion interchangeably.

"Alright, then everything is settled. I'm going now!" Arvin excused himself with a warm smile.

"Yes, My Husband!" Allen replied softly, staring intently into Arvin's pair of blue eyes. "I will definitely await your return."

"If anything or anyone dares to try to harm you out there, you must destroy them completely!" Alrain replied, giving a slightly possessive encouragement typical of him.

"My Dear, be careful on the road and come back to us soon!" Ordion replied not wanting to be left behind, his voice sounding very sincere. "The three of us will always wait for you to return to this home safely."

"Yes, I understand!" Arvin answered without the slightest hesitation, nodding firmly to the three of them. "Thank you, Allen. Thank you, Alrain. Thank you, Ordion. I am leaving now!"

Escorted and accompanied directly by his three spouses to the front of the mansion's main doors, Arvin finally departed. He left the three of them with steady and confident steps.

Right now, his goal was only one: to investigate the ancient ruins again to satisfy his greatest curiosity about the secret of the black door that always caused players to experience a 'Game Over' in his previous life.

At the doorway, Allen, Alrain, and Ordion stood side by side. They looked at their husband's broad back as he slowly walked further away down the city street, waving their hands until the blue-haired figure completely disappeared from sight after the gate closed.

Once out of the mansion gate and walking along the public street, Arvin continued his steps casually toward the academy.

That afternoon, the weather in the capital of the Astoria Kingdom was quite bright. The streets were filled with passing residents. However, there was something that caught their attention.

The presence of the Young Master Vedegra, who this time was just walking casually alone without being accompanied by his three spouses who usually always faithfully accompanied him, immediately became the center of attention for some capital residents who recognized him.

"Hey, Young Master!" exclaimed a young girl bakery keeper from across the street with a friendly, slightly teasing tone. "Where are your three handsome spouses? It's so unusual for you to walk alone in the middle of the city like this today without the presence of the three of them."

Arvin turned toward the source of the voice while continuing his steps without slowing down his walking rhythm.

"The three of them are resting at home, and indeed I didn't allow them to come today." Arvin answered with a voice that was quite loud but polite. "Right now, I happen to have an urgent matter that I must do alone. See you later, Miss."

After returning the greeting, Arvin refocused straight ahead. However, inside his head, he could not stop himself from wondering at the reaction of the capital's society which he felt was too welcome.

I don't know why everyone in this capital actually looks very enthusiastic and supportive of the romantic relationship between the four of us. Arvin thought, feeling a little weird but also grateful. Do most people living in this capital really have a tendency to be open-minded and also interested in same-sex relationships? This really makes me wonder. But at least, this is much better than having to receive cynical and disgusted stares from them every day.

Before he knew it, after walking quite a long time through the crowds, Arvin finally arrived in front of the towering main gate of the academy. There, Morn, the gatekeeper who was on guard at his post, immediately recognized and welcomed his arrival.

"Good afternoon, Young Master!" the young man greeted very politely while slightly bowing his body. "It's so unusual for you to come to the academy area on a holiday like this."

"Good afternoon to you too, Morn." Arvin greeted back casually. "I just want to pass through to the academy's back gate, and head straight toward the forest outside the city behind that giant wall."

Arvin pointed toward the gate lock. "Could you open this main gate for me for a moment? It would take too long and the distance is too far if I had to walk around through the capital's main gate to get to the forest."

Hearing the request from one of the most influential noble students in the academy and also the new owner of the academy, Morn did not hesitate at all.

"Oh, of course I can, Young Master! No problem at all!" Morn said enthusiastically, immediately rushing to turn the mechanical iron lever at his guard post.

The heavy iron gate slowly opened. Arvin immediately stepped into the academy grounds, which looked deserted due to the holiday, with steady and sure steps.

"Thank you very much for your help, Morn." Arvin said while continuing his steps without looking back, following the path toward the academy's backyard area. "I'm going now."

"Yes, you're welcome, Young Master!" Morn replied politely with a loud voice from his post. "Be careful on your journey out there!"

The blue-haired youth continued to pick up his pace. Until a dozen minutes later, his footsteps finally stopped right in front of the sturdy back gate of the academy on the towering 25-meter-high giant city wall, which separated the city's civilization from the wild forest outside.

Arvin looked up, staring at the top of the sturdy stone wall, then focused his mind.

Crack!

In an instant, he created a magical foothold in the form of a thick block of ice floating stably in the air, exactly a few meters above his head.

Tap!

With a very strong and precise push of his feet, he jumped high and planted his feet firmly on top of the first ice block before gravity pulled him down to the ground.

Crack! Tap! Crack! Tap!

The sound of freezing ice and shoe steps echoed each other rhythmically. With acrobatic movements that were very fast and flowing like dancing, Arvin continued to create new ice footholds in succession and jumped on the ice blocks floating in the air.

In just a matter of seconds, he successfully conquered the height of the giant wall and finally arrived at its peak.

Standing on top of the boundary wall, the quite strong afternoon wind blew his clothes and blue hair. For a moment, Arvin looked at the expanse of the green sea of trees of the wild forest stretching widely below him. He took a deep breath, feeling the coolness of the wild air, then released it again slowly to calm his mind.

No matter what happens and whatever dangers await me inside those ruins later, I must be ready to face everything! Arvin resolved in his heart, solidifying his courage.

After feeling ready, he immediately jumped into a free fall down from the height of 25 meters with the help of wind magic to land on the ground surface.

Tap!

He landed very perfectly on the forest ground surface.

"Alright!" Arvin said to himself, his eyes looking straight toward the dense forest. "Time to head to those ancient ruins!"

In the middle of the silent forest that afternoon, Arvin wasted no time. He continued to walk quickly through the dense trees, going further and deeper into the wild forest area, just for one goal: to satisfy his curiosity about what mystery was actually hidden behind the 'Game Over' black door.

After walking for almost half an hour following the route that was still clearly recorded in his memory from his visit with Allen that time, Arvin finally arrived at the destination point.

Upon arriving at the door which was in the form of two large old tree trunks next to each other, Arvin immediately stopped his steps. He closed his eyes and focused all his magic concentration to spread tracking waves, detecting every life fluctuation, whether human or monster, around him.

"The area up to a 900-meter radius from this point is very safe." he said quietly, sighing in relief after finding no signs of the presence of living creatures. "Good! I can enter those ruins now without having to worry about anyone seeing me."

After making sure the situation was truly safe and under control, Arvin immediately stepped through the two giant logs back and forth four times in a row.

Zap!

Right on the fourth step, a spatial distortion was momentarily created. Arvin's body instantly disappeared without a trace from the dense forest that afternoon.

In the blink of an eye, the spatial transfer transition occurred. Arvin was now standing in a pitch-black place. There was absolutely no natural light source that he could see.

No wonder this place has now become this dark and pitch-black. Arvin said in his heart, not feeling panicked at all because he had already expected this to happen. All the natural lighting from all the magic crystals stuck to these walls had already been harvested by me and Allen that time.
