Chapter 208 - The Shocking Teleportation

Davin, who was still standing stunned by the crazy power that Arvin had just shown, was instantly jolted from his reverie. His attention was diverted when Darken and his seven group members jogged from various directions, gathering back right in front of the two of them.

"We are ready to leave, Young Master!" greeted Darken while bowing his head, giving a very polite respect.

Arvin nodded slowly. He handed over the parchment paper that he had previously folded and sealed neatly using the family crest.

"Take this letter!" ordered Arvin while handing over the letter. "As soon as you arrive there, immediately hand this letter to my father!"

Even though he did not fully understand what the youth's words meant, Darken still obeyed. He received the letter with both hands and then stored it carefully into his clothes pocket so it wouldn't get damaged. After that, he turned around again and stood in front of his seven members.

"Remember, your main task there is to guard the mansion and exchange shift with the assassin who are already there!" Arvin reminded in a firm tone, reminding them again about the details of their job. "Do not let a single intruder escape your surveillance! Do you understand?"

"Understood, Young Master!" answered the eight of them simultaneously and full of conviction.

"Now, close ranks and close your eyes!"

Hearing the instruction that seemed strange, Darken and his seven members without asking much immediately closed their ranks to stand as close as possible, then closed their eyes simultaneously.

Arvin raised and extended his right hand forward. He focused his mind, gathered his mana towards the place where the Silent Killers group stood, and then began to activate the teleportation magic whose coordinates he had previously marked to move them to Vanzhas City, right in the front yard of his father's mansion.

The air around them instantly felt heavy. A golden glowing magic circle with intricate rune carvings suddenly appeared and spun rapidly beneath the feet of the eight men.

Zap!

In the blink of an eye, the eight men dressed in black disappeared without a trace from the sight of the two of them.

Davin, who had been just standing silently observing all this time, widened his eyes again until he almost didn't blink. He saw the activation process of the teleportation magic happen right in front of his eyes.

The brownish-white-haired youth was so shocked when he realized that Arvin could use an ultimate level magic that was supposed to consume a huge amount of mana so casually, as if only using basic illumination magic without any signs of fatigue in the slightest.

He is truly a monster! screamed Davin in his heart, swallowing hard. How can there be someone who uses teleportation magic and moves eight adults at once like that without feeling the slightest bit tired from running out of mana? This is crazy! Truly crazy!

After making sure his magic succeeded, Arvin lowered his hand and stretched his slightly stiff muscles.

"My business here is done!" exclaimed Arvin in relief, his voice sounding very satisfied. He then turned to Davin who was still standing frozen in his position. "Hey cutie, are you coming with me?"

"D-D-Don't call me cutie!" protested Davin flustered, his face instantly turning beet red out of embarrassment and awkwardness. "My name is Daviniel! Call me Davin!"

"But your face and reaction are really cute, you know." praised Arvin with a mischievous smile, indeed acknowledging Davin's looks that had caught his attention since the beginning. "Let's go back, cute Davin!"

"S-Shut up! Stop that cute nickname!" grumbled Davin, turning his increasingly reddening face away. "I also haven't agreed to want to be your spouse, and right now I only chose to join your side!"

"Okay, okay, okay. Then let's go back, Davin." chuckled Arvin, not wanting to tease the youth any further.

The two of them then turned around, walking side by side casually heading out of the slum area.

However, on the other hand, without Davin's knowledge, Arvin's eyes glanced briefly at the dark shadows on the roof of the building behind them. There, three unknown people were watching him.

Crack!

The bodies of the three masked people dressed in pitch black who had been hiding and watching them all this time, instantly froze into ice statues in the blink of an eye without having the chance to make the slightest sound.

Crash!

Within seconds, those ice statues shattered to pieces, breaking into small crystal dust particles that were immediately blown away by the wind without leaving a trace.

Those Victoriaz Kingdom spies! said Arvin in his heart, snorting softly feeling very annoyed because his privacy had been watched by the palace's rat lackeys. You dared to follow me secretly all this time. Sorry to say, you have played with the wrong person!

During the rest of the journey out of the slum area, Arvin smirked mysteriously. He felt increasingly impatient looking forward to his crazy plan tomorrow at the inter-academy tournament.

Meanwhile, right in the front yard of the magnificent Duke family mansion in Vanzhas City, Darken and his seven members who had just opened their eyes felt so surprised and dazed when they realized the scenery around them.

Now, they were no longer in the slum area, but in a spacious yard with neatly trimmed grass.

"Where are we?" asked Darken in wonder, sweeping his gaze to see the magnificent building architecture in front of him.

"Boss, did the Young Master just move us using teleportation magic?" chimed in one of his members with a pale face and breath that was still irregular.

However, before Darken had the chance to voice his response to his member, the main door of the mansion swung wide open.

Duke Melvin Vedegra walked out with firm steps, accompanied by two assassin dressed in black walking on full alert on his left and right sides. The Duke's intimidating aura could immediately be felt filling the yard.

"Who are you and why did you suddenly come here?" asked Duke Melvin with a heavy voice demanding an answer.

Seeing the long-haired man in front of them, Darken realized one thing. The shape of the jaw, the sharp gaze, and his blue hair color were exactly the same as the youth who had just recruited them, the eight men immediately bowed down and gave a deep respect to him.

"Forgive us for suddenly interrupting your time, My Lord." said Darken very politely representing his group. "We came here because Young Master Arvin Vedegra has hired us as mansion guards, alternating with the assassin who are currently protecting you."

Darken slowly stepped forward carefully, reached into his shirt pocket, and handed over a piece of parchment that was still neatly sealed with the Vedegra family wax crest.

He recruited a group again? asked Duke Melvin in his heart while receiving the letter. Is he secretly preparing to go to war with another territory?

The Duke broke the wax seal and began to read the letter that had just been handed to him. His eyes widened slightly. He was very surprised by what was written in that short letter.

It was not only because the eight people standing in front of him were an assassin group of former Red Sand members that made the Duke surprised, but because his son wrote that he sent those eight people to Vanzhas City directly using teleportation magic from the capital of the Victoriaz Kingdom.

Duke Melvin lowered the letter and stared at them with a look of disbelief.

"Were the eight of you who were previously in the Victoriaz Kingdom territory really sent here directly by my son using teleportation magic?" asked Duke Melvin to confirm.

"You are right, My Lord!" answered Darken as it was, still feeling amazed. "He was the one who asked us to close our ranks and close our eyes after giving the letter to us. And we also completely didn't expect that he sent us here using teleportation magic."

Hearing that confirmation, Duke Melvin let out a soft sigh, feeling proud and at the same time horrified by the development of his son's power which was becoming increasingly nonsensical.

"Is it true that you are former members of the Red Sand group?" asked Duke Melvin again, returning to business matters.

"Yes, My Lord, we are former Red Sand members from the shadow division!" answered Darken full of respect. "If I may ask, are Mr. Rayand and the others really here?"

"Yes, he is indeed here!" answered the Duke with a much friendlier tone. "The two assassin standing on guard on my left and right are also Red Sand members. If you are looking for Rayand, you will certainly find him easily. Because right now, he has been appointed as one of the army commanders in this city!"

Hearing the very convincing answer from the Duke himself, Darken and his seven members exchanged glances and then smiled in relief. A heavy burden seemed to be lifted off their shoulders.

It turns out the Young Master did not lie at all and told the truth from the beginning. said Darken in his heart, but at the same time he felt ashamed of himself. I truly regret that I doubted his words earlier. He really has recruited and saved all of them!

"If my son has appointed and chosen you, it means he already deeply trusts your abilities and loyalty." said Duke Melvin breaking the silence that had occurred, a faint smile now resting on his lips. "I will immediately provide a decent house for each of the eight of you in this city."

"Thank you very much for your generosity, My Lord." answered Darken while bowing respectfully. For a moment, he hesitated, but finally decided to ask. "I apologize in advance, but I want to ask something. Back there, the Young Master gave each of us a certain amount of money. Actually... how big is the currency value of 2,000 Gold in this territory?"

Hearing that question, Duke Melvin chuckled softly.

"The average monthly salary for an official soldier in this territory only ranges from 4 to 15 Gold, depending on their rank and achievements. You just calculate for yourself how long you can use that 2,000 Gold to live decently here."

Hearing that comparative explanation, Darken and his seven members were truly shocked to the point of widening their eyes. Their bodies stiffened. They just realized that they had received money in a very fantastic amount, which could even support them for more than hundreds of months without the need to work.

"You don't need to feel worried or hesitant!" said Duke Melvin, catching the shocked expressions on their faces and not wanting any misunderstandings. "Just save the money given by my son for your own needs, and I will still pay you every month like regular soldiers. Someday, that money will definitely be very useful for your future."

"Thank you very much for your generosity, My Lord!" the eight of them said simultaneously, bowing very deeply with a sense of loyalty that was now absolutely engraved in their hearts.
