"Ah–Is this your first surgery?" The doctor beside him asked. He could see from the look in the greedy doctor's eyes, he was just another number to him… nothing more.
Before he could respond the doctor looked down at his report and interrupted before he could even say anything, "Your brain cancer can get worse, very quickly! We will have to remove the tumors bit by bit… surgery or else it will get even worse, even chemotherapy won't do anything to help at the moment!"
"Luckily for you, there is availability for you to get it done today. There is an 80% chance of success, you don't have anything to worry about! The surgery will succeed!"
Moments later…
"No! We're losing the patient! He…che…his…vit…elect..ock!... my…ticket.. ..to..I won't be able to…. We ha…save.. Or.. my..!"
He suddenly heard a blinding sound…
Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
'Ah… Is this it? This is how I die.'
He closed his eyes feeling tired and struggled, 'To hell with this! Who suddenly gets cancer and dies this quickly? Those scamming greedy doctor bastards! They just wanted to charge me with a surgery!'
'How could… How could I… have.. ..so gullible? Ah… fu–'
Another sound came deafening and psyching him out.
***
"WahH! Waah! Waaaaah!"
'AHH! It hurts like I'm going to die! It hurts? Oi, This must be hell. AH! But it's still painful, Why…'
An elderly looking woman quickly wrapped the baby in soft cotton clothes, her name was Biwako. The midwife gave her partner, Taji, an order through a nod towards the mother of the baby.
Taji obeyed and took the warm wet towels and began cleaning the woman who had just given birth.
"Congratulations! It's a healthy–" Before Biwako could finish her sentence a sudden devastating sound of walls crashing sounded…
Boom!
"What-!"
All of the people in the hidden underground room–other than the child, became on high alert, ready to protect the helpless child and his mother. The child and mother pair were busy regaining their senses and the latter mostly her strength.
The underground room was filled with many masked individuals, who were there to serve as guards.
But why would a child and mother need such protection? Who wanted to harm such innocents? And what kind of wretch had dared to attack them?
Why of course, these two weren't just anybody. The mother was the wife of the current fourth leader of one of the greatest ninja villages of the world, from the land of fire in the village hidden in the leaf, usually addressed as the Hokage, currently known to be Minato Namikaze. Kushina Uzumaki was also one of the most valuable assets of the village–a Jinchuriki. Jinchuriki were vessels of tailed mystical beasts who held vast amounts of chakra. These tailed-beasts could easily destroy even the greatest ninja cities. Once a vessel died before transferring the beast, they could unleash this deadly calamity upon their people and could end up accidentally killing thousands.
How were such mystical beings contained? By Sealing Jutsus.
However, during pregnancy, heightened at the time of giving birth, a female Jinchuriki was at risk of getting that seal weak, and was also susceptible to attacks during this vulnerable time period.
At the moment there was only one squad of elite Anbu kuniochi in the room. Of course, they were not the immediate responders of the commotion, they had orders to be there to protect their lady from inside.
BOOOM! A whole side of the room had disappeared, even killing three Anbu guards on the spot and before any of the Anbu could even react….
A yellow flash of light appeared.
"Kushina! Are you hurt? Is everything okay?" A worried voice called out.
"Yes, how is everyone else, you shouldn't have come backtocheckonme—"
He held her from her shoulders to calm her down and said, "Everything is going to be all right, I promise." He kissed the woman's forehead, to give her some comfort. After all she had just given birth.
"Minato–" The woman called out to her husband and whispered, "Stay safe."
She knew the gesture was kind of useless because he was one of the most powerful ninjas in the village, but she couldn't help but be worried.
Minato, saw his wife's expression and couldn't help but think that she still looked very beautiful, no matter what, that fire in her eyes was still burning. He looked at Kushina for a moment almost too long and responded, "You too."
And instantly, in less than the blink of an eye, he disappeared. Or more specifically 'teleported' using the Flying Thunder God Jutsu. It had only been less than 10 seconds since they had heard the first deafening boom and four since he came to check on her.
Her guards began to move and one of them urgently said, "Lady Kushina, please follow us, we'll escort you away safely!"
With her left over Anbu guards, Lady Biwako, Taji, and her newborn son, she reluctantly pulled away from the place to move to another safe location.
From a distance Minato saw a masked man in battle with a few elite Anbu squads. He noticed how easily the stranger was cutting through the veteran ninjas.
'A S-Rank Ninja!'
What did such a high ranked ninja need here? Who would dare attack his family and village? Which village pulled the strings this time? Minato was feeling enraged, but was staying calm. As an experienced ninja he obviously did not act upon his emotions but simply analyzed the enemy; For a split-second longer than necessary admiring his enemy's battle style before finally noticing the sharingan.
'A Sharingan! An Uchiha?'
Not wasting another second, Minato used the Flying Raijin to end up in a decent distance, where he later ended up engaging the intruder.
CLASH.
"Who are you?"
"Guess." The dark voice answered.
The man in the mask began moving his chains, as a weapon, and he charged them at Minato.
Minato who still was on his guard, also advanced to him.
But to Minato's surprise his attack goes right through the masked man and not causing a scratch, 'What?!'
Clink! The chains catch their hold to Minato! But acting on his quick reflexes he escapes their grasps.
'His Flesh… My physical attacks have no effect on him, but he can make himself materialize to attack me at the right times. Which means I can only aim for him when we both strike blows!'
Minato analyzed further, 'His risk lies at the moment he attacks, so I'm guessing he's looking to end this fast. The one who attacks an instant quicker than the other… will win this match!'
The battle was becoming intense, it was by no means easy to know who was winning by watching the two calamities clash. Suddenly, the the masked man created distance, as his chakra might have been running low. But it was Lord Fourth who kept the distance, he wanted to stall as much as he could and also win. The battle became an oncoming struggle that didn't stop with the sudden shock waves or the Hurricane-like waves hitting the next. Or mountain sized large fireballs getting countered by Tsunamis.
To a bystander, even to most ninjas this was a pure level of madness one after another. One second it seemed the Hokage was winning, the next it appeared to be the opposite.
Long agonizing minutes passed…
The fight seemed to turn more feral and primitive as they continued to battle but in reality, it was a battle of the minds. When such high level battles happened, it was your adaptability and versatility that were your biggest weapons. The intruder or was it a traitorous Uchiha? Regardless, he needed to end the clash quickly. Minato was quickly gaining more and more advantageous position. Minato didn't even need to fight full out, besides, he was in home country, and could make this a battle of attrition and wait out for the other Hokages to arrive and help him out.
The intruder's movements sometimes felt like he wasn't used to his own body. His build was also on the smaller side, one would have confused him as a child about to reach adulthood… He would make mistakes that would be too weird even for an S-rank ninja to ever make. S-rank ninjas were strong enough to be considered at the epicenter of strength and power in the world… They're battle knowledge, spirit, and reflexes were a total new level of their own. But he wasn't just fighting anyone either, he was fighting the abominable Fourth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village.
They were back to close-range fighting and the masked man was very close! It seemed as though time was slowing down the longer they fought. They both clashed at the same time, with Minato's shuriken going through the intruder's body like nothing was there. And the masked man aimed his chains at Minato.
'I win!' The intruder thought, his attack about to land and only a nanometer away from hitting Minato. But it was to early of a thought.
Minato had thrown a shuriken at the same time, allowing him to use his Flying Raijin Jutsu, to instantly teleport to the shuriken and land a Rasengan on the man's back.
The Hokage was slowly making his clear advantage in speed, clearer as the battle progressed. It was not looking so great for the intruder. In fact it seemed like it was only a matter of time before he made an irreversible mistake… causing his death. It was only expected that the Hokage would win.
The man was, after all, also known by another name, 'The Yellow Flash.' During the Third Great Ninja war, which was officially over only a few months ago, he earned his fearsome reputation of the 'Yellow Flash.' The enemy would never see anything coming, but only a yellow flash would greet them before the end of their lives came.
Fortunately or unfortunately, before the third Hokage and other reinforcements arrived in time the intruder vanished. He had simply disappeared.
Minato used his sensing techniques but he could not sense anything. Suddenly feeling a sense of dread, he used the Flying Thunder God, to teleport to his wife. To make sure nothing had gone awry in his time away. What if this was all a distraction to get to his wife?
What he saw made him sigh in relief.
But Minato frowned. There was also something peculiar about the way the intruder fought… It was like he was reluctant to fight and he never felt true killing intent from the ninja. And the amount of chakra that expended; It did not seem like he was an S-Rank ninja. Or at least not the amount of a very strong ninja.
'Why had he come? For what purpose?'
At the time, Kushina ha d arrived at the nearby safe location and was still recuperating from giving birth, but she was also a Jinchuriki, the recovery rate was way faster for her than even normal ninjas. So a few minutes was enough to gain clarity on the situation. She was still weak compared to her peak, which as a Jinchuriki mixed with her Uzumaki blood made her on the upper side of the S-rank ninjas. A powerhouse that was weakened was still a powerhouse.
After a while Kushina couldn't take it anymore! She was worried sick, her chakra was mostly recovered and she could help her husband out. What if Lord Third didn't arrive in time? What if reinforcements were stalled?
"Lady Kushina! Please don't move so suddenly just yet!" Biwako's disciple, Taji, who had interrupted her thoughts, was in a hurry to stop her.
Biwako was the Third Hokage's wife and also an experienced medical ninja. Biwako calmly looked at Kushina and said, "At ease, Kushina. Everything will be alright."
Kushina faltered in her steps and looked at her baby, the cute little thing was fast asleep. She held her child close and took a deep breath.
"Yes, you are right."
Kushina thought she trusted her husband but that didn't mean she wasn't worried sick.
'I swear if he dies without my permission, there will be more than hell to pay!'
Just as she thought that, her husband appeared in front of her in a flash.
Minato felt a shiver but as soon as his eyes landed on his wife and child he felt utter relief. But he remained vigilant. He gave the squad a few orders for the sensory ninjas to scout the area and prepare to leave right away.
Hiruzen was soon going to arrive at the scene, until then, they prepared to leave the underground base to head back to the village.
Unnaturally, nothing else happened. Hiruzen and the reinforcements arrived and began to take the couple and their child back to the village, safely.
Everyone was on high alert and soon an emergency village council meeting would be called. To discuss the situation that transpired.
