Chapter 225: The Melee 3
Whoosh whoosh whoosh…
Immediately after, those points of light fell downward like rain.
The Wind God beat its wings, its massive body shooting straight upward.
The dense light points instantly collided with the Wind God.
"Boom boom boom boom…"
The light points exploded upon impact with its body, countless explosions instantly engulfing the Wind God.
Terrifying shockwaves continuously echoed through the sky.
Kizaru did not stop and kept releasing light.
But his brow grew increasingly grave.
"What kind of monsters are these… how are they as freakish as Vice Admiral Garp…"
At this moment, huge waves were surging in Kizaru's heart. He could feel the Wind God's aura below growing stronger and stronger. This feeling—he had only ever experienced it from Vice Admiral Garp. Not even his teacher, Zephyr, had given him this kind of pressure.
Boom boom boom!!
As he was still reeling, the Wind God charged up through the laser fire.
"Damn it!"
Kizaru had completely shed his lazy demeanor now. His hands were no longer in his pockets—his attacks simply could not harm this monster.
Whoosh! His figure once again turned into a beam of light and vanished from the spot.
If he couldn't even break its defense, what was the point of fighting? Was there any hope at all? If it were Vice Admiral Garp or someone else, he could at least deal some damage. But this monster in front of him… a two-hundred-meter body, Armament Haki even stronger than his—where was he supposed to hit? Scratching an itch would be more like it.
After that, Wind God and Kizaru chased one another back and forth. Kizaru was like a loach, slippery enough that even the Wind God couldn't land an attack.
Neither side could hurt the other.
…
Meanwhile, on the ground below, Raptorex and Akainu were locked in fierce combat.
There was no one around them—only the two of them.
"Senior Ryuryu, long time no see!"
Akainu slammed a magma fist into Raptorex's knee and shouted.
"So… that's your reason for knocking on my knee?"
Raptorex slapped him away with a single palm, his voice humming.
"I just wanted to see if you've fallen behind, Senior Ryuryu!"
Akainu landed on the ground, the corner of his cold face lifting slightly into a smile.
After getting brutally beaten by Raptorex last time, he had developed two major techniques. After returning, his strength had improved a bit—something extremely rare.
"Then let's test it. Let's see how much you've improved these past few days," Ryuryu said in a low voice.
"Then come on! Senior, don't hold back—just don't kill me, anything else is fine!"
Akainu roared as the ground beneath him rapidly transformed into magma, spreading outward.
Yes—he had awakened! The awakening of a Logia-type Devil Fruit was the same as a Paramecia's: it could assimilate matter.
That meant he could easily create a magma battlefield, rather than exhausting himself like last time to generate vast amounts of magma.
This time, it only took a small amount of stamina to assimilate a massive sea of magma.
In less than ten seconds, a thousand-meter-wide area was engulfed in dark-red magma. Bubbles rose continuously, and the terrifying heat dyed the sky crimson as the air twisted.
"You really have gotten a bit stronger."
Raptorex looked at the magma basin beneath his feet and nodded in acknowledgment.
At a height of a hundred meters, this thousand-meter magma lake was, at most, just a slightly larger pool to him—no real difference.
Clang clang clang…
Cold flashes of light flickered across his body. A metallic sheen gleamed as his massive hands' ten fingers all transformed into blades, and even his hair became razor-sharp edges emitting a chilling glow.
Immediately after, pitch-black Armament Haki covered his entire body, turning him into a giant that looked as though it were clad in black armor.
"Come!"
Both sides were ready. Akainu was brimming with fighting spirit. With a Shave, he vanished from the spot… charging wildly toward Raptorex.
