Sunday.
Originally, Kazuma had planned to stay home and thoroughly study the Genesis Combination—perhaps even begin creating his own universe. However, with Mizuki Miyama's appointment and her wish list in mind, he temporarily stored the Genesis Combination in his system backpack.
He would examine it later.
Early that morning, he met her at a café. The beautiful girl, dressed in the long uniform of St. Peak Girls' Academy, sat by the window and waved when she saw him.
"Good morning, Kazuma-kun."
Mizuki Miyama was far calmer than she had been the previous day. She bowed politely and gracefully—clearly having learned his name from Mifuyu.
"Teacher Yukino didn't come?"
"She has other matters to attend to," Kazuma replied, taking a seat across from her. "Judging by your attitude, Miyama-san, you must have decided to believe what I said. That's why you arranged this meeting, correct?"
The café was conveniently located near the academy.
After a brief silence, Mizuki Miyama nodded.
"Yes. Although there's still no concrete evidence to support your claims, I want Manaka Miyama to keep some distance from Teacher Tonami Yuto, just in case. I'm not asking her to give up entirely—I only want her to be more cautious. But…"
She sighed, pressing her fingers to her forehead in frustration.
"I didn't expect Manaka Miyama to react so strongly. When she's around him, she almost loses her rationality. So, Kazuma-kun, I'm asking for your help—please stop her from acting so impulsively."
As she spoke, her wish list surfaced clearly.
[Wish list (Mizuki Miyama): Stop sister's romance]
"You make yourself sound like the villain," Kazuma said with a faint smile. "But breaking apart problematic relationships happens to be something I'm good at. Fine—I'll help you."
Mizuki Miyama exhaled in relief, even if his phrasing felt slightly uncomfortable. All she wanted was to protect her sister from being deceived or hurt.
However, Kazuma wasn't finished.
"That said, I won't help for free. You'll need to give me a reward, Miyama-san."
"Huh? A reward? But don't you already have a grudge against Teacher Tonami?"
"That's separate. My business with him is my own. Miyama-san, you're not expecting charity, are you?"
Kazuma's confidence had clearly grown—he was now openly negotiating compensation.
After a brief pause, Mizuki Miyama nodded seriously.
"I understand. I will give you a reward."
Mizuki Miyama reluctantly agreed.
Kazuma smiled and extended his hand. "Pleasure working with you. I'll deal with Tonami Yuto right away. Miyama-san, don't worry. Once he's out of the picture, your sister won't be entangled with him anymore."
"Wait! I never told you to go that far!" Mizuki Miyama quickly grabbed his wrist, clearly flustered. "Killing him is too extreme! Just stop her from getting close to Tonami Yuto!"
"Is that all?" Kazuma glanced at her lazily. "Miyama-san, have you ever heard the saying 'cut the weeds and eliminate the roots'? If you leave problems unfinished, they'll only come back to bite you. But fine—you're the client."
Mizuki Miyama finally let out a breath of relief. She had genuinely been afraid Kazuma might actually kill Teacher Tonami Yuto. If that happened, Manaka Miyama would surely sever ties with her.
Kazuma casually placed a small box on the table. Mizuki Miyama blinked in confusion; she hadn't even seen where he had taken it from.
"This is…?"
"Open it."
She lifted the lid and found a piece of chocolate inside. Or rather, a small, slightly incomplete piece.
Kazuma smirked. This was a new item—"Concentric Chocolate." He had already eaten a portion himself, and the rest had been divided into smaller pieces. Whoever consumed it would become "concentric" with him, meaning their thoughts and feelings would temporarily align with his.
Unfortunately, the effect only lasted for one day, and there was only one piece left. A shame—if there were more, things would be much easier.
"Give this to your sister. Once she eats it, she won't be infatuated with that man anymore."
"Does it really work?"
"Why would I lie?" Kazuma puffed out his chest. "I'm a professional. I get paid to solve problems."
Half convinced, half doubtful, Mizuki Miyama took the chocolate and left. Kazuma leaned back and took a leisurely sip of his coffee—then suddenly froze.
…Wait. She hadn't paid yet.
He clicked his tongue. Fine. He'd add it to the final bill.
Manaka Miyama had no idea her sister had already hired someone to break up her relationship. Even though it was the weekend, she headed to school. She simply wanted to see Teacher Tonami Yuto.
Since returning home the night before, she hadn't spoken to her sister at all.
How could her sister call Teacher Tonami a bad person? That was impossible. There had to be a misunderstanding. Just because Mifuyu Yukino didn't like him didn't automatically make him a villain.
If anything, her sister's harsh words had only awakened her rebellious streak.
Still… thinking about how Teacher Tonami had been hovering around Mifuyu Yukino recently made her chest tighten.
Everyone admitted that Mifuyu Yukino was beautiful, elegant, and nearly flawless—the perfect woman. But she already had someone she liked.
Which meant Tonami Yuto had no chance with her.
That means… I still have a chance.
"Manaka Miyama."
At St. Peak Girls' Academy, she ran into her sister again. She tried to walk past her coldly, but Mizuki Miyama stopped her.
"About yesterday… it was my fault. I won't say things like that again."
"Really?"
"Really," Mizuki Miyama sighed. "You're my favorite sister. How could I bear to hurt you?"
"Wuwu… I didn't want us to fight either. What you said just really hurt," Manaka Miyama admitted softly. She wasn't stubborn by nature; when her sister softened, she did too.
"It was my fault… Here. This is for you."
"Chocolate?"
Manaka Miyama blinked and accepted it. "Since it's an apology, I'll take it. Mm… it's actually really good."
Mizuki Miyama watched nervously as her sister swallowed the chocolate. Nothing seemed to change.
Did Kazuma trick me?
"Manaka Miyama… how do you feel?"
"It's sweet. I like it."
That's not what I meant…
Before Mizuki Miyama could think further, Tonami Yuto happened to approach them. The popular, handsome teacher greeted them warmly.
"Miyama-san, it's the weekend. What brings you two to school?"
"Teacher Tonami."
Mizuki Miyama forced a polite smile. Now that she looked at him carefully, his gentle smile seemed… artificial.
Tonami Yuto sensed her distance but turned his attention to Manaka Miyama instead.
"Manaka Miyama, did you come to see me?"
Mizuki Miyama frowned. He was using her first name again?
"Teacher Tonami," Manaka Miyama said, her brows knitting together, "please don't call me by my first name. It's inappropriate. Use my last name."
"Eh?"
Mizuki Miyama stared, stunned.
What's happening?
"Manaka Miyama, I thought we were already close," Tonami said in confusion. He knew how fond she had been of him.
"If possible, I'd like to build a good relationship with you. Is that wrong?"
The bun-haired girl shook her head. "But you like Teacher Yukino, don't you?"
"Teacher Yukino already likes someone else. And you're no less wonderful—pretty, gentle—"
"I told you not to call me by my first name!" she snapped, stomping her foot. "People might misunderstand. I already have someone I like!"
Her eyes suddenly lit up, and she waved excitedly.
"Kazuma! Over here!"
Mizuki Miyama could only watch in disbelief as Kazuma sauntered over with a faint, knowing smile.
"Kazuma!!"
Manaka Miyama rushed forward and threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly as if she never intended to let go.
"Did you come just to see me? I'm so happy~"
Kazuma calmly sucked on his lollipop. "I thought I saw someone bothering you. Was it him?"
"He was, but I have nothing to do with him! I don't like him at all. You're the only one I like, Kazuma," she hurriedly explained, clinging to him. "You're not mad, right?"
"I'm very mad."
"Wuwu, I really didn't do anything! I've never even let him touch my hand. I'm still pure. My first kiss and everything belong to you…"
Mizuki Miyama's jaw nearly hit the ground.
Tonami Yuto's expression stiffened. "Manaka Miyama, do you even know who he is? He's Mifuyu Yukino's man! How can you—"
"Eh? Is that true?" she asked.
Kazuma nodded calmly. "Yes. Mifuyu Yukino is my woman. If you don't like it, you're free to leave."
"I—I don't mind!" she said quickly, tightening her grip on him. "As long as you don't abandon me, I'll do anything. I don't care about Teacher Yukino. I'm willing to share you, or even have your children…"
Kazuma chuckled. "If you say that, Teacher Tonami might be heartbroken. The woman he likes chose me. And the girl who once liked him? Also chose me. Poor guy."
"Who cares about him?" Manaka Miyama scoffed, shooting Tonami a look of disgust. "Does he think acting gentle makes him irresistible? He's narcissistic and revolting. Let's ignore that trash and go."
Kazuma raised an eyebrow. "You're calling him trash?"
"He is. Narrow-minded and useless. He's nowhere near as capable as you, Kazuma."
"…"
Watching the two of them walk away, Tonami Yuto's face darkened, shifting between pale and flushed red. It was the first time anyone had spoken to him like that—the first time he had been openly challenged. He stared at their retreating figures, his eyes blazing with fury.
Damn it! That brat! That insolent brat—!
Mizuki Miyama glanced at her sister and Kazuma, then at the shaken Tonami Yuto. Her expression was complicated, as though Kazuma were some great villain and Teacher Tonami the pitiful victim.
Isn't this a bit too much?
No—that's not the point. Why did Manaka Miyama suddenly change like this?
"You two, wait for me!"
