Nina had kept things going with Cross for this long because she didn't know how to end things and knew it would hurt him but now she decided to just rip the bandaid off.
She shook her head again.

"I won't!"
He began crying openly.

Seeing his tears, Nina felt very bad and was now at loss on what to do next.
This was exactly why she didn't break things off this whole time... she didn't like hurting any one and now that she was breaking things off for his own sake, it felt like she was doing him wrong.
What was the best course of action to take in this situation? Leave him and break his heart in the process? Or let him stay and keep cheating on him?
First option offered pain but the second didn't if he never found out...
