West gestured casually.
"This is Mei."
He turned slightly.
"She works here. She showed me around."
Mei gave a polite nod, though there was still that natural warmth in her expression.
"And Mei this is Nina," West added.
Nina blinked once.
"Oh?"
Mei smiled.
"West mentioned you."
"He mentioned you as well."
They exchanged pleasantries for a bit and West seemed to notice Nina checking Mei out.
"…Nice to meet you," Nina said with a neutral tome.
"Likewise," Mei replied.
There was a brief pause before a staff member called out from across the hall.
"Mei! We need you over here!"
Mei turned her head.
"Ah—sorry, that's me."
She looked back at West.
"I've gotta go."
Then, almost instinctively, she reached out and lightly touched his arm.
"Thanks for coming. It was nice."
West nodded.
"Yeah. Appreciate the tour."
She smiled once more, then turned and hurried off, disappearing into the crowd a moment later.
Silence lingered for a moment before Nina stepped closer.
