"Hello, my name is Ashley. Tell your director, Ava, that Ashley Coleman is here to see her," Ashley said to the receptionist at the lobby of Ava's company.
She had tried countless times to stay away from Evans, but she simply could not do it. She had sacrificed too much, given too much of herself, to suddenly let him go like he meant nothing. The thought alone drove her insane.
Ashley wore oversized black goggles to hide her swollen face and puffy eyes. Even with the glasses covering most of her face, her exhausted appearance could still be seen clearly. Her hair looked slightly messy, and the desperation in her expression made her seem restless.
She anxiously looked around the lobby, her gaze constantly shifting toward the elevators every few seconds, hoping to catch a glimpse of Evans or Ava.
"Excuse me, ma'am," the receptionist called out politely after waiting for Ashley's attention.
Ashley immediately turned toward her.
